  1. mt 3 gsd's have done the same since day 1 no noise when I leave nor through the day but when I come home they squeal in excitement. Afternoon routine here is I get in the gate walk through the house open the back door and let them in. Alls quiet
  2. his balls will more than likely shrink
  3. Elka is nearly 2 and still annoys the crap out of Kim.
  4. I was not sledging and I never said I knew better, and my opinion differs from yours, it does not make me right nor does it make you right. I think I may leave it there, as I do not want to argue with anyone.
  5. No, I am not single minded, and I would not make blanket statements like the one you made here. I only speak of the breed I have experience with. which IS in fact a load of crap.I notice you have not commented on the pics I have posted of my MALE desexed dog. Do you think not having seasons is the reason he has so much coat? What do you think of the difference in his coat after desexing? It is interesting to note you have not mentioned any coated breeds in your repertoire there, so no, I don't think you have the experience or knowledge to make such blanket statements. I have had coated dogs as well. The male viz if you read it properly was oversized to begin with, shepherds have coats too you know and I see desexed dogs every day of my life which have been done young and old, maybe your cocker was meant to have a thicker coat as my viz was meant to be oversized. Doesnt really matter does it as I have my opinion and you have yours, I had a English springer spaniel that never got the coat she should have had and she was not desexed. So I reckon it depends on the dog.
  6. Not a load of crap at all. Please don't make statements like this, unless you have the knowledge and experience to back them up. Excuse Me: I have shown dogs for a very long time and I have also previously bred dogs, when my show dogs are retired or dont like the ring they are desexed. 1 male Vizsla, oversized to begin with, coat exactly the same till death parted us, desexed at 3years of age. 1 female Vizsla desexed at 1 year because she hated the show ring, no changed body shape no coat change correct size, and incontinent. 1 female boxer desexed because of Pyro correct size, no coat change desexed at 13 months. 1 male Boxer cryptorchid desexed at 6 months 1 teste in leg other never found, correct boxer size no change in coat died from cancer. 1 female shepherd correct size multi BIS winner so far no change in coat, and no bloody hair all over the place, desexed at 5 years old. 1 male Mutt juvenile desexed, yes he is hairy and yes he is tall but he is a wolfhound cross so one would expect him to be both. So maybe do you think I may have some knowledge and some experience, or maybe not because I do not conform to your way of thinking. Some people are so doggedly single minded, look outside of the circle will you and do some studying of the subject, like I have.
  7. My male Vizsla was desexed at 3 years and he was oversized/tall, maybe something to do with the breeding hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. My friend has a huge male shepherd which is not desexed so it must be the breeding.
  8. What a load of crap. Desexed bitches keep their coats and dont drop as much because there is no hormone changes RE: seasons. Gee I will have to tell the desexed Mutt he actually isnt part wolfhound at all he is hairy because he has been juvenile desexed Geez louise get a grip people.. I agree with Greymate the majority on dol are anti-desex no wonder why so many beautiful healthy dogs are euthanised each and every day. PS my Vizsla bitch was desexed but funny thing she was in the standard and I dont know what was wrong with her but she never got hairy, oh dear she must have been the odd one out.

    Puppy Outside

Sounds like he wants to be the leader of the pack you will want to put a stop to that if he is going to be a big dog, I would suggest obedience.
  10. Hi Erny glad to see you have returned to dolingland.

    Puppy Outside

Let the dog in the house and bed chuck the partner out on the cold concrete and see how he likes it. Bet he lets the dog back in. Hope this isnt a case of loved him when he was a cute bundle and cant be bothered with him now. (the partner I mean not you) Lots of dogs are quite happy to live outside because they dont know any different, but once they have been allowed to sleep inside it is a bit of a shock to be chucked out and puppy probably can not work out what he did to deserve it.
  12. I always take holidays for 2 weeks when I get a puppy and house training begins immeadiatly they arrive. I have never used a crate, when they eat drink and wake up puppies have to go to the loo, and if you are on the ball there will be no mistakes. At night time my pups sleep in the bed when they wiggle and wake it is straight outside, Elka the last pup I bought, was housetrained when I went back to work 2 weeks later, I would come home at lunch and let her out to go then she was back in until 6pm. So she was left to her own devices inside for 5 hours at a time.

    Sick Puppy

Puppy returned money returned sounds ethical enough to me , if thebreeder did not take the puppy back or give a refund then there would be a problem.
  16. Read the book Ceasrs way available at kmart dogs nose eyes ears
  17. Hi Noise complaints are the worst complaints we deal with especially when it is only the one person and it seems that no matter what you do that person is never satisfied. Apart from debarking your old girl if it is even legal there, the cat appears to be the problem get a trap and trap it but ensure you tell the council who it belongs to, My gsds hate all cats bar mine as well. The other soloution is a bark collar but sice gsds have the thick coat you will probably need to shave the hair. If it was me I would trap the cat.
  18. Farewell girls run free and Piebe at least they had lots of love and cuddles before they went. til you meet again
