Because most of them I know are crazy wiggle bums who have nothing elsa in their brain except for wanting to wash everyones face and even thoiugh they have owners who adore them, they are let get away with murder. When I instructed obedience classes twice a week for about 10 years(years ago) we never had a Staffy come so I was actually amazed how quick they learnt. I see a lot in the show ring but they are usually like statues, and have no enthusiam.

it's always good to gain experience no dogs are dumb assess. In my opinion if people approach training that way u are going to have a hard time training ur dog. i really dont have trouble training my dogs or others I think you may have interpreted my post wrong :p

Chopper I take it is a Staffy, Now dont want to hurt any feelings but I always thought Staffords were dumb as. We started obedience last sunday with me as trainer, havent done it for a few years but it all came back like yesterday, the 2 naughty staffords were heeling nicely and sitting after the first lesson. Their owners are pleased as punch , I thought oh dear Staffords but they were so easily taught. I would suggest you use a normal choker and shortish leash or buy a canny collar and take them 1 at a time, until Chop learns to heel.

Puppies being puppies always try to have hard chew type toys or items close by and let then chew that or buy a ball and turn the biting into fun by chasing a ball instead. I wouldnt spray him with a squirt bottle, they are only babies. Pigs ears are the best thing for those teething puppies.

Elka is also scared of plastic bags and the vaccumn cleaner, so I have spent months rubbing her down (like you do a horse) with plastic bags so she can hear the rustle it has taken awhile but doesnt shy away from them now, the Vaccumn is a complete different story :D

Dont ignore the advice your vet gives if you trust them fully. I feed bones and frames and the GSD"S dont poo as much with frames

:rolleyes: my Elka just turned two and she has gone from being perfect to being naughty and ignorant. Also she has all of a sudden decided she doesnt like OH when he walks down the hallway she gets under the table where he cant get near her, yet when he comes in the front door she is bouncing all over the lounge to kiss him. And if he is sitting down she is all over him. Very obnoxious and wierd. so I would say it is a stage

I used the red tabs and gave 1, smelly as it may wipe her tummy welts over with CIDER VINEGAR a few times a day 1st that may just cure it.

Hi, My Elka is 2 and just does it, no sniffs no nothing but it is always outside. She has always done it like this. When she was a baby she never missed inside but vidilence is the key. With puppies they tend to go as soon as they open their eyes, drink, eat or after playing.
