Any ETHICAL pound or shelter should scan the whole dog not just the zone

check his weight and the side of the bag and just 1 cup of water, at least it will reduce the bloat risk. I am sure he will miss you as much as you will miss him. Hope your loved one will be okay.

I have travelled with 3 German Shepherds and the only place I ever had a problem was Coolalinga Caravan park at Darwin. I had booked in months prior and it was fine, we arrived there in 2008 for the show season and the caravan park had changed hands and the responce was I dont like German Shepherds they eat people. Well shall I say I was a bit jacked off as I had also paid up in the end we were allowed stay but one complaint about my dogs barking or growling at anyone and we were out. Needless to say we stayed there for the 4 weeks but never again. He even had the hide to ask me where my dogs were when they were sitting in the annexe looking at him out the gauze window. I will never stay there again. My dogs have been all over QLD and NT and that is the only problem I ever had, and he only had a problem wih GSD'S. If you call ahead you should be fine but you will find most of them take white fluffies lol. When we travel we stay in a lot of free places which is fine with us cause we are self sufficent and I always amcongratulated on the good behaviour of my dogs. At day they are either in the back of the car or in the van with us and at night time they sleep in the van with us. ANd even on the side of the road in the scrub I pick up my dog poos.

I have one of those great thing my 3 shepherds use it, we have a Mazda BT50 4wd and I actually put the ramp on the tyre as the door to get in the crate is there and in they go. At first Kim didnt like it so I put her on a leash placed a board up one side and stood on the other and she went up easy as i was on one side and the other side was a board. After a few times of going up and down like this I removed the board. I think they are scared of falling into the open space they sense she was much more comfortable with the board there, now they just run up and down it even if it is on the side of the tray and not the tyre. good luck

sounds like a fit , my older shepherd gets them, she has had serum taken from her spine and brain as they thought she had a tumour, had xrays, blood tests you name it and the only answer is fits and no known cause. She gets wobbly splays her legs get disorinated and appears to be in lala land and runs into things. This has been occurring for about 2 years now but still no answers, we just keep an eye on her and if she fits I hold her until she is over it. best of luck

-
well done everyone how you guys had a great time as usual

the desexed boys here except for Oliver were done a lot younger than 6 months and they are normal well adjusted dogs same size as litter mates that are whole, but they dont p@ss on everything and do not want to brawl with any dog even when pushed. but it is your animal so you do it when you feel it is right. PSSSS Oliver was done at 6 years as I show him and his father and litter brother both had prostate and I want him to have a long healthy life,

would you feed dog meat same thing in my eyes
-
lol I wasnt going to steal megz's thunder

wonder if she even asked if she could give the dog a treat probably not. I went to a pet shop to buy dog food whilst we were away and the dogs were in the back of the car, the sales girl asked if she could give the dogs a treat to which I replied no. She asked why and I informed her that they are very protective of their car, so it wasnt a good idea.
