  11. Well done! Quite an acheivement for the sire also :-)
  12. Just wanted to share my brag for today at the Canberra Toy Dog Club shows, My Chinese Crested boy Mav, 'Kimissa Maverick' won Runner Up Best Exhibit In Show! In the afternoon show my 6 month old bitch Tori, 'Entourage Professional Widow' won Minor Puppy In Show, im thrilled to bits :-D Below is Mav, myself and judge Mrs P. Thomas (NSW)
  13. After numerous el cheapo gazebos that end up look like spineless white perils, we bought a metal 3X3 altegra with walls. Thought we were a bit crazy because of the price but it gets knocked about has stood up really well. I also use it as an annex with our caravan, its a hell of alot quicker putting the gazebo up rather than poles and pegs etc with an annex, i cant be bothered with that! Ive also mastered putting it up by myself ;-) Im going to be buying a compact canopy gazebo soon, theyre $50 more than the altegras, but fold up to the size of a oz trail gazebo. Im driving a stationwagon more now and even though the altegra fits in with the seat down, id rather have more room.
  14. Good luck to everyone, i havnt entered Daylesford/Ballarat, been judged by one of the judges not long ago and wasnt looked at, so im off to the ACT! Look forward to hear of everyones results. Hope the rain doesnt hang around either !
  15. I have toy dogs and all pups have been microchipped at 6 weeks. Its an excellent way to make sure that breeders are doing the right thing.
  16. I had that happen yesterday ay Kyneton, people id never seen at a show before want to see the my catalogue, they asked, i give them a dirty look and said 'ohh i suppose so' they touched it and retreated back to their camp, not having a good look. 10 minutes later i took one of the dogs for a walk and i hear my other dog going beserk and its the same person, come back for a better look WHILST I WASNT THERE. Grrrrr. Same people didnt even turn up with shelter for themselves or their poor dogs. Not even an umbrella! The dogs were so hot and the more i seen the dogs in distress the more angry i got! Finally they had enough and picked up their challenges and went home. The catalogue is one thing, but not coming to a show prepared for hot weather is stupidity.
  17. Now i know your call name on here bullyfan :-p Bloody moths, im sick of my son catching them, its creeping me out! he tried catching some of the colourful grasshoppers/locusts? but they were way too fast for him, and for me! 2 more years and i can turn his attentions onto showing a dog instead! Hey well done on the Junior in group! i missed that! :-)
  18. Unfortunately with a trailer and 5 dogs, 3 people it's not so easy. I think I need to downsize lol. 2 dogs and 1 adult and 1 child here, after a few years showing dogs and knowing what certain venues are going to be like, i try to keep it as simple as possible! I was doing 4 dogs per show a little while ago, dog trailer and all, im over that now LOL. I know its hard when you have large dogs and you do need a trailer or large van, but i refuse to get up at 4am to get to a show at 6 or 7am when the show starts at 10am. I want to enjoy my day not sit there grumpy and tired. I love my gazebo, but i forgot how a couple of umbrellas can be quite sufficient on a nice day :-) The secretary's caravan could of been brought forward and then alot of people could of put their gazeebos etc behind it. Awful lot of space to have cleared when people are so crowded.
  19. Well done BBJ on the best of breed :-) My little girl Tori won a 9pt challenge being her second week out of baby puppy so i was very pleased :-) I arrived about 8:30am and drove up near group 1, plonked my stuff out of my car, put up a brolley and people had kindly made a walkway between the gazebo's straight to the ring for me. Cant get much better than that!
  20. What about going around the block - might be easier than that llllllllooooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggggg main street? Going down the main street is the short way. *rolls eyes*
  21. Yes you can go that way, but then when you approach the gate, you will find you will have to give way to exhibitors coming from the short way. I sat there very irate for over 5 minutes one year. One, having to give way to 6-7 exhibitors coming from the opposite direction, but also the guys on the gate wanting to chat when they take your gate tickets.
  22. I dont know about 2 exits, but yes, coming from melbourne is is the first exit, and yes you go past the information centre on the right hand side as your coming into the town. Bilbo, yes sometimes its not wise to follow other exhibitors, Ive done that before and learnt my lesson a few times LOL. Thank god for sat navs now! hahahah
