  1. Don't worry. I Googled. Hepatic encephalopathy right?
  2. Gosh Shoelace, that sounds so much like Mya especially the panicking and thrashing and the eye movement.
  3. I have spoken to the specialist and they are holding off on the MRI for today and staring treatment for the toxicity so see if she improves. God I hope she does. I'm scared to get my hopes up though. Specialist didn't seem to have her recent increase in dose in her records. Someone messed up but for now I don't care. if Mya recovers, that's all that matters.
  4. Oh my god Shoelace. Yes that is the antibiotic. Just Googled and certainly some of the symptoms fit. My original vet just upped her dose because of her tummy troubles too. Gosh I hope that is what it turns out to be although I'm furious that a dog forum would mention this and neither vets have.
  5. My poor Mya has had quite a year. After a liver biopsy in May she was diagnosed with chronic hepatitis. Treated with steroids, antibiotics and milk thistle she was doing really well. Her liver enzymes were so good she was taken off all medication. She then appeared to deteriorate so we put her back on the antibiotics about a month ago. She has had an upset tummy over that last couple of weeks and perhaps been a little less enthusiastic about life ( although still doing zoomies with Luka around the garden at least once a day) and her fur has been coming out in clumps ( this used to happen before the hepatitis treatment, stopped when she was on it and started agin about two weeks after stopping treatment - not sure how relavent that is) I don't know whether any of this has contributed but yesterday morning she tried to get up to go out to the toilet and her front legs wouldn't work. They just kept slipping out to the side. My husband too her out on the grass and she managed to stand but things were definitely not right her back legs were low and wide and she was shaking all over. She I did mange to wee. Straight to the vets, they kept her, took bloods, did a Neuro exam? Didn't think it was a tick, Throughout the day her legs got stiffer and she keeps panicking. So she was referred to a specialist. We took her there five o'clock last night. Vet there seems to think meningitis or brain tumour. She has had a spinal tap yesterday evening and is being transported to Brisbane for an MRI today. This is all so sudden, she was absolutely normal Sunday night and first thing Monday morning a complete mess. We made sure we said our goodbyes last night in case we don't see her gain. The poor darling looked so so terrified Things we've considered are tick, cane toad, tetanus, Larissa ( I remembered she did get a bat in her mouth last year and I did read it can take years for the virus to show up). my head hurts from trying to understand what's going on. I'm glad she is at the specialist now and I really hope they find some answers. We lost our beloved Labrador, aged 5, to an undiagnosed neurological condition and watching Mya yesterday has brought back all the horrors of seeing Holly deteriorate like she is. It is actually a blessing, I think, that Mya's has come on so quick. Whether she makes it or not at least she hasn't suffered for long. Now we are playing the waiting game. Oh how I hate waiting.
  6. Fabulous lens. I have the non IS version, mines pretty old now. I haven't got the steadiest of hands and it's a pretty heavy lens so I'm definitely envious of the IS :) Enjoy.
  7. For a while now I have been totally obsessed with getting a Finnish Lapphund. I don't think I can stretch to 4 dogs so I will be patient but on my gosh they are such gorgeous dogs. The more I read about them the more I fall in love
  8. Thank you Roova :) Those ducklings are so ridiculously cute Scottsmum. I've been pretty sick this week but managed to take my mid of the lurgy by doing some creative editing to a photo I took a couple of weeks ago. I wasn't sure I liked it at first but the more I look at it the more it appeals to me. 36/52 Into The Woods by Tee Kay, on Flickr
  9. Thank You Scottsmum that's lovely to hear :)
  10. I spent a lovely relaxing hour a couple of weekends ago, sat on the rocks watching the waves, trying to capture wave movement. The tide was out so there were only little waves but I still managed to get a tiny curl :D 35/52 IMG_6690 by Tee Kay, on Flickr
  11. Except it's a picture of the wrong breed of dog!! The attacking dogs were American staffies. I really feel for owners of Staffordshire bull terriers as dog are so often just called Staffies and they all get lumped in the same basket.
  12. That was the one that stood out for me too. First, as you say, how do they asses in a shelter situation and secondly if the owners surrendering said dog knows about and reports the separation anxiety why can't they do the kindest thing and take them to be euthanised themselves. If the dog get so anxious when it's humans aren't there then damn well make sure you are there till the end.
  13. I was lucky enough to photograph this handsome man a couple of weeks ago. My sister is a puppy raiser for autism assistance dogs. This lovely gentleman has now been placed with a family. Best of luck in your new home little ( well not so little  ) man 34/52 IMG_6495 by Tee Kay, on Flickr
  14. Could you elaborate on the bolded bit please. In which states is mandatory de-sexing crossbreeds, the law?
  15. I thought that about the climbing plants too Roova, I will have to go back in the summer to see. As far as we know Mya is full husky. She was 2 when we adopted her so we don't know for sure. She cetainly behaves like a husky and sheds like one too ☺
  16. So excited. The pic I took of sunset at King's Beach pool ( 30/52 ) has made it into the finals of the Sunshine Coast photography awards. There are 25 finalists out of over 600 entries. So happy :) :D  Ok back to normal programming. :) I had a lovely walk around Noosa Botanic Gardens a couple of weeks ago. Found this pretty little path. I could just see a bride and groom in this spot 32/52 IMG_6317 by Tee Kay, on Flickr A trip to the beach and a new lens this last weekend :D 33/52 IMG_6438 by Tee Kay, on Flickr
  17. Totally legit excuse Scottsmum. Pokemon for the win  The 'that's really pretty' is totally why I have taken to photography so much. It opened my eyes to so much beauty I wouldn't even have noticed before. I'm loving the look of that lagoon, what a beautiful spot. I'll bet that tree looked spectacular in Autumn. You'll have to take a shot of it next Autumn.......................and spring.......................and summer :D
  18. I'll keep going :D My son and Jenna taking a stroll down the path by our house. She isn't off lead ( my pet hate round here ) I cloned the lead out :) 31/52 Taking a stroll by Tee Kay, on Flickr
  19. I have my 11 year old son to thank for these following shots. I had taken him to King's beach to do some Pokemon Go and I was rewarded with a stunning sunset. So glad I took my camera, 'just in case' :D King's Beach Pool 29/52 IMG_6141 by Tee Kay, on Flickr 30/52 IMG_6124 by Tee Kay, on Flickr
  20. Look forward to seeing tham Snook. :)
  21. Lovely shots Powerlegs. It's not easy taking a shot pointing up to the sky like the first one so especially well done. :)
  22. Another little cheat from me this week. I loved the pic of Mya I posted last time, so much, I decided to try and edit a pic of Luka and Jenna to match the 'style' so I can print off the three photos and put them on the wall. I have three really nice brown frames and I ordered the prints on Friday . I can't wait to see them on the wall :D This is a collage of the three photos. I suppose I should try and make this my new siggie but it's been so long since I did mine I can't even remember how to change it  ETA - yay I changed it Excuse the over sharpening from Flickr 28/52 Dogcollage by Tee Kay, on Flickr
