Head Tilt In Miniature Pinscher Puppy
teekay replied to The Ark's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks for sharing that video, it was lovely to see Little Bear in action. She certainly seems happy enough. She obviously has issues controlling her back end but i think i noticed a few tails wags in there Seeing her next to your hand in the second video made me realise just how tiny she is, awwwwww. -

Good luck with Little bear, she is an absolute darling and has obviously made her way into your heart very quickly. I will be watching this thread with much interest and saying a little prayer for you and little bear. -
Definitely hoping to go with my 2. Will be interesting to see how they cope with so many dogs all at once. They do have a tendency to be, how can I say it, overly social so we'll see how we go. Might be a short visit, but i hope not. I'm hoping the novelty will wear off with so many dogs. Will be bringing OH, though. No way I'm going to try and reign in 2 dogs at once. I'll keep my eyes out for familiar looking doggies.

Awwwwww she's gorgeous, I adore Finish Lapphunds. Akira is a stunning looking dog too. You will constantly be stopped in the street when you are out walking them in a few weeks, I bet.

Stunning stunning stunning.

It's awful losing any of our dogs but when they are so young it seems especially unfair Run free Sahla Give yourself time Sahla's Mum, you have had such a terrible shock. I know it's a cliche but time really is the greatest healer.

Glad you liked the pictures Rach, Mya is a stunning looking dog now that's for sure. She's still a fussy eater and will never be a fatty but you can't feel her hip bones any more when you stroke her and compared to this time last year, her transformation is remarkable I had a read of the old thread too, had a little especially at your poem Rach. We do get stopped an awful lot on walks MM, a few people even ask us if they are the same breed duh. I've lost count of the amount of people who either ask us if we A) wash them in Persil, B) are they difficult to keep clean? or tell us C) they're sooooo WHITE. I don't mind though, I love it when people just look at them and smile though. It's nice to bring about some joy in this world, even if only for a moment.

Happy 3rd birthday to my gorgeous girl Mya. It's not all been easy this year, you seem determined to put a few more grey hairs on my head, starting with escaping when we had only had you a week There have been more escape attempts (and more grey hairs) but, thankfully, you have made it home safe and sound. I am determined that this year there will be no more 'walkabouts'.I wish you didn't feel the urge to leave us but I do not take it personally. I know you love us, you just can't resist the call of the wild. You are a husky after all. I guess being a stray for so long didn't help matters. When we first brought you home you were so on edge. It took all day before you finally flaked out and slept, and slept, and slept, you must have been sooooo exhausted. It was a long time before we saw your tail wag, but when it finally did we were overjoyed :party You have a way of looking deep into my eyes that just melts my heart, I love you my gorgeous girl. Last night I was thinking about how you came so close the death this time last year and cannot thank Rover Rescue (K9 Angel) enough for saving you and loving you back to health So here are a few (ok more than a few) memories of the year :D ETA Link to original rescue story, for those interested : http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=185582&hl= My Mya All tuckered out (such a neat and tidy sleeper - unlike Jenna) Zoomies I'm gunna eat your face! Or maybe the other end Jenna: "Please play with me" Oooooooo this dirt is comfy Never EVER leave your chips unattended Pretty girl

Interesting reading this thread. I have a 5 year old and so far we have not had any issues with my 2 dogs but I do supervise them very closely when they are together. The bolded bit intrigued me though Nekhbet, what would you do exactly so the dog would never do it again. I love your second paragraph, very true

I don't watch the show that often but do admit to feeling frustrated when I do. The last one I saw had a DDB with severe hip dysplasia having a hip replacement. Fantastic opportunity to talk about hip scores of parents, registered breeders, advice for how to avoid hip dysplasia but none of this was mentioned at all. A prime opportunity to educate completely wasted. :D Sorry if this has been mentioned before, the episode was on a few weeks ago.

Sa’s Inaugural Finnish Lapphund & Friends Picnic And Walk
teekay replied to Finnesse's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
Ooooooooo all those lappies. ;) Wish i could have seen that -
Absolutely, I always take treats to the off lead beach with me. We are still reinforcing Jenna's recall so I want to be able to treat her when she comes. There will always be somebody quick to blame other people for theirs and their dog's shortcomings, unfortunately

Sending Your Bitch To A Stud Equals Prostitution!
teekay replied to Paptacular!'s topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh that is just too funny. I've always said, you can't argue with stupidity. And I believe prostitution is legal in QLD but don't know about other states. -
Dol Slow Cooker Recipe Cookbook
teekay replied to ShesaLikeableBiBear's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yep, put me down for 1. I keep meaning to browse through the slow cooker thread but a book would be soooo much easier. Thanks for doing this. -
Here's a couple of my girls Mya, the Husky And Jenna, the Samoyed cross

Ikea catalogue 0, Jenna 1 "You can't be mad at me I found a paint roller, just for youuuuuuuuu."

His coat looks incredibly similar to my Jenna's although she is much smaller (20kgs), lots of people still ask me if she is a Maremma. On the one hand I'm impressed that they know about Maremmas (I didn't until recently, they are not a common breed) but on the other hand she is way to small to be a Maremma. Jenna is a crossbreed btw.

Gorgeous. :D How much does he weigh?

Sorry may be slightly OT and I haven't read all the replies but I just wanted to add that I have forever been captured on Google Maps (street view). When they were taking all the photos in our area I was out walking with my daughter and small son. Can't say I was bothered, thought it was quite funny.

What lovely pics Rach, Good Luck Jack. I just love the ones of him with Chloe's pups, and, of course the one with Mya.

Oh No! How awful. Sending up lots of prayers for your little baby. I so hope she makes it xoxo

Do Dogs And Other Animals Have Souls?
teekay replied to Tapferhund's topic in General Dog Discussion
With regard to 'proof' of a soul or at least consciousness continuing after death, whatever you want to call it, I would suggest a book called "The Afterlife Experiments" by Gary E. Shwartz as coming very close. Even the sceptics who have tired to question the vaildity of the experiments struggle to come up with an explanation for some (well most tbh) of the findings in this book. Very, Very strong evidence to suggest Life after death. Anyone who has an open mind or is struggling with the concept of a soul should read this book. Anyone with a fear of dying I strongly recommend reading this book. Of course if a person is happy believing that there is nothing 'after'. I am fine with that. Each to their own. I, personally, would struggle to live with that concept. -
Just a quick update to say, so far Jenna is fine. I set the alarm and checked on her a couple of times in the night, all good. I will be keeping her very quiet today, very glad it is the weekend so I can be with her all day. Thanks for all the advice. If all goes well today, will it be ok to leave her for a few hours tomorrow. It's my 5yr old son's first sports day, which I will miss if necessary. What do you think Sharee?
-
+1 Hope she's okay teekay. Keep us updated. Sorry this is OT but can I please ask what breed she is? She's gorgeous. She is a cross between a Golden Retriever and a Samoyed (before I was educated)
-
Thanks Sheree, I have put advantix on her now. Do you think I need to wake her throughout the night to check she is ok?
