  3. My god, I cannot believe there is people out there like that, I thought our drunken hoon neighbours were bad. I cannot express how disgusted I am with the fact that there is people like this in the world, what kind of planet did they come from and I agree about having idiot free zones in neighbourhoods LOL ferals like your neighbours should have to pass a neighbour test and clearly they would fail and be kicked out Do they rent or do they own the house, maybe if they rent you could find out what real estate they are renting through. Just a thought but Im sure you or someone else has already mentioned that. Especially if it has escalated far enough to have the police involved. I feel for you, I really do. I hope it all works out
  4. I am so sorry to hear of your loss of Buddy, he sounded like a absolutely amazing dog and even more than a dog, a best friend, what your OH wrote and what you wrote made me teary, I can only imagine the heartache and pain you must be feeling at a time like this. Im sure Buddy will want you to stay strong and like you said you will meet again at rainbow bridge,I hope in knowing that brings you some comfort. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. 9. Well Said, I couldn't agree more. What a absolute sicko. Poor Poor Kitties and that poor dog for having such a sick owner.
  10. When I eventually get a dog, Im going to get a rescue and will be along the lines of a bullmastiff
  11. any responsible pound would and or should!!! they live in a regional area in WA and I don't think that pound takes animal welfare very seriously. or however you want to put it.

  16. Hi Dolers, I went to visit a friend of mine and they have recently rescued a dog from the pound, he is approx 2 years old and let me just say I wish he was mine He is so beautiful and has such a sweet nature and is just well adorable. We are wondering what breed is he, we are thinking Bullmastiff x Great Dane?? The dog belongs to my friends OH and I kept telling him I had room for his dog in my suitcase Oh btw his name is Homer.
  17. EEEWWWW, hahahahaha My ex had a really weak stomach. We lived on a block of land behind the chillers (place were people sold wild pigs/kangaroos that they had shot) sometimes if the chillers were full or if the pigs were too small, instead of taking them home, the people would throw them over the fence (into my side yard!!!) My (at the time) 5yo daughter was really busy down the back one day so I called out and asked her what she was doing. She had a jar and told me she was collecting 'bugs'. It was common for her so I thought nothing of it until she came waltzing in with half a jar of maggots.. I told my hubby to go and see what was there. Watching him out the window I knew something was wrong when he leant over the small (hip high) wire strand fence and vomited. Smiling to myself, knowing I should have checked I kept watching thinking it served him right for being a butt head earlier. He was holding the wire to balance himself as he lent over and heaved again when he lost his footing. The wire gave way under him and he basically somersaulted over the fence...LOL not only did he land in his own vomit but right in the guts of a fly blown pig that had been dumped sometime in the middle of the night. Ha ha, if that wasn't funny enough, he was so disgusted he jumped up running and began ripping of his clothes yelling for me to grab the hose. It was quite a sight seeing this big grown man squealing like a little girl, running around naked, kicking and screaming. AAAHHHH, one of my fondest memories... HAHAHAHA that does serve him right for being a butthead - thats karma great story!! keep them coming people!!
  18. Just got back from vets, she suspects its a flea allergy or midgies (sp?) she has given him a long lasting antihistamine injection, that should last up to 3 months. And we just need to keep up with the frontline or to try advantage or something. She said that we will get the peak of results in 24 hours but its working already, it is such a relief to see him being comfortable again and he was so well behaved at the vets not that he normally misbehaves but he has a bit of an attitude, but he didnt leave my side and when the vet was looking at the base of his tail he was trying to climb back up on me for a cuddle....sooo cute. Anyways all is well and Im hoping he will keep getting better, Thankyou so much for all your advice.
  19. thankyou so much for the wonderful advice. He seems to be ok for now, its not bothering him too much and i think its a bit late for a bath. hopefully the vet will have some answers tomorrow. I will update when I know whats going on. thanks for the tip about the evening primrose oil. ill give that a go too.
  20. Thanks for the advice His skin is quite warm, but it is very hot here in WA and its just in patches, his hips, legs and at the base of his tail. the bit he has chewed the most is his leg. the hair is starting to come off a little, im trying to be very "onto him" to discourage this ( i dont hit him or yell at him or course just give him a cmon baby stop licking) not that he understands but it gets his attention and distracts him for a moment. I dont know what rectinol or neocort is, but i dont think we have anything like that here, he has had a slight problem with his skin in the past, so I have been told and apparently it flares up in summer, frontline has soothed the itching in the past but even now even thats not working. Malaseb seems to help a little though, so I will give him another bath in the hope that helps until tomorrow. Ill also look up what other stuff has a anaesthetic in it to see if we have anything around the house. Again thankyou for your help. :D
  21. Hi, my SIL has a chi x and he has a skin condition of some kind. he is off to the vet tomorrow but until then I want to know what I can do to help relieve the itch. He has always has sensitive skin, but the last couple of days it has just got so much worse. So far we have tried Malaseb Medicated Wash,Advantage,Frontline (these were applied over a period of a few months) and Polaramine. We think it might be a food allergy, he doesn't have fleas (unless they are invisible). he was feed one of those coles raw hide treats ( which he eaten before) but in the hours following that he was just rolling on the carpet and chewing and biting at himself. It could be that or we are thinking some kind of mite?? Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to help relieve this until he sees the vet tomorrow? It's so hard watching him go through this knowing I can't do much until he sees the vet, any advice would be greatly appreciated...
