Personally I don't see anything wrong with video, he was taking his time to try and keep the dog calm, so what if they wanted fame, they are a rescue the more publicity the better. It was a great outcome all round, Troy had a forever home and the rescue has captured the attention of people all over the world for the great work they do, what's wrong with that? The dog was at no point mistreated in the video and he was obviously taken for treatment and the picture of him on his new home he looks like a brand new dog, no skin issues and happy as. Great job!

lol i was about to post the same photo, later today, im going to watch a million of there videos. I wish i was in a postion to do something like this. Rescues like this inspire me every day.

Thanks for the advice, we are thinking about getting a second opinion as well just to make sure, the collar isn't an issue he hasn't ever worn one, only harness' so that's ok. I would like x rays done also apparently they are good at a showing exactly what's going on. Thanks again everyone

Sorry to hear of your parents dog, was going to say that earlier but i got all caught up in what i was writing, how long has your parents dog had there condition? what sort of treatment is the dog receiving if you dont mind me asking?

Thanks for your kind words guy, means alot. I dont think the vet wants to do surgery due to his age, but he is only 11. I dont know, it just sux. everything is happening at once, he was diagnosed with arthritis last week, then my car broke down, my dad came to fix then when he went to get parts his car dropped out all its oil so he was pissed, later that night our air con broke down. So we were already annoyed,tired and frustrated. Next morning Leroy wasn't himself and he went outside to wee and whatever and he was only taking a few steps and then laying down and started to really struggle to breath, then next minute hes ok, then it happens again, so we just rushed off too the vet and here we are. It has been an absolute rotten week, because of this week the house work is piling up and all I want to do it go and lay down and sleep. I might go do that, and the dogs can sleep with me :) Leroy gives excellent cuddles, I feel worse for my partner she has had Leroy his whole life and she has to go to work this evening Heres a picture of our baby. This pic is few years old he's sleeping in his mums arms while shes on the computer.

He may be ok for a lot longer than 6 months but he's on meds now and I guess we just how he goes, Leroy was very stressed at the vet and the bet said he was in respiratory distress

Thanks guys, Aussie he said that he could put one in but it wouldn't help his lungs? He also said he couldn't hear the valves opening and closing? It was all very much a panic yesterday but he basically said there isn't anything we can do and it's come down the quality not quantity and we should prepare for what's coming.

Hi all, Does anyone have any knowledge about tracheal collapse? Or experience with it? Our chi x, Leroy has been diagnosed with this and the vet estimates he has approx 6 months left He is 11 years old and he has always made a lot of noise when excited or stressed which we have always put down to the elongated pallet he has, yesterday morning he was having trouble breathing so we rushed him to the vet and this is the outcome. He is now on cortisone and bisolven tablets to make things easier for him, the vet said we would know when it was time. He also said they could put a stint? In but that won't help the lungs any. Leroy is my partners dog and she has had him from a pup and he has been a part of my life for over 5 years, we are devestated. I cannot imagine life without him. So basically anyone had this in there pet before? Don't really know what else to say except @&)@@; argghh this really sux!!! Thanks

I tried some photos up at kings park, they turned out terrible but I know what you mean about mozzies, I was wearing shorts and I nearly got carried away by them! Next time will be well stocked on bug spray, my next adventure will be sunset at the beach! I can't wait. Thank you for all the lovely compliments, I was amazed on how they turned out.

Just discovered the "bulb" function yesterday, so hoping to try star trail photography soon :)

Hey all just a quick update, We took tug's collar off last night as his tail has healed well, whatever was on his nose is looking much better, almost like it was never there!! We will be keeping a very close eye on it though as if it shows up again he will be straight off to the vet, but for now things are looking up. I'm holding him right and now and he tells me he's very happy he gets to avoid the vet for now heres a better picture of his nose now.

Perhaps then, a dermatologist would be a sensible step? Yeah we have been considering this. No skin scraping, im going to ask for on when we head back. Not really, the yucky pus looking stuff on his nose is actually a scab, its dry and crusty, no discharge. I'm thinking fungal too, but hey im not animal expert. no hes not on any meds. I guess we will wait and see what the vet says.

I'm actually shocked at how much I got attached to her and so quickly, there is her fur on my car bonnet (car is parked near patio) and it makes me sad and I miss her But im so glad she has a great home. We had another dog here for a week a little shitzu x, we eventually found his owners too and they were really nice too and gave us money to cover food etc and wouldnt take no for an answer. I didnt go outside though i was worried i would be too emotional and im glad i didnt as soon as she saw her dog, she starting bawling!!!! I let my partner handle that one One of the best reunions I have ever seen is on TV. A family had a mum and a daughter dog and I think it was the daughter dog that went missing for close to a year. the mum dog was never the same, hardly played and clearly depressed, play dates with other dogs didnt help. Because they had the dogs microchipped they finally got the dog back. When they put this dog down in the backyard, the mum dog started doing zoomies and just going nuts with excitement. OMG it was the most happiest thing i have ever seen, I have goosebumps just thinking about it

Agree :) Totally agree! A few weeks ago just after I moved our old dog Micha got out. He was gone before I woke up so would have been out for hours. I spent hours driving around looking for him and was walking down a street calling for him when a lady came out of her house asking if I'd lost my dog. She had seen him early that morning almost getting hit by a heap of cars so took him home waiting for the pound to open. We walked over to her back gate and sure enough there he was. I bawled my eyes out! She was so lovely. I took her and her kids a bunch of flowers and a box of chocolates after work, but nothing could express my gratitude for what she did to save my dog. I also know how you feel in regards to this too. 4 or so years ago (animal ownership mistake #1) when our cat was allowed outside, he was hit by a car and our neighbours called the RSPCA and he was taken to a vet for treatment. If it wasnt for them he would have died. We bought them a card and some scratchies. But nothing could ever say thankyou.

This! So many people ignore wandering animals, I am not in the slightest bit surprised they were so thankful. What a lovely story :) Thanks so much, i dont consider myself amazing, Its just what I do, the first dog i took in when i was about 7, I hid it in the shed so my mum wouldn't find it, i fed it for maybe a day and she found out. Turns out the dog had mange So I called it Mange (not knowing what the hell it meant) The owners were found and I dont remember them being concerned that there dog had mange WTH??? I have been through hell with a dog I had years ago that was an escape artist and I know how it feels for your dog to go missing and be terrified that you were never going to see it again and its just horrible and I hate that other people go through that too. I was so happy that they clearly loved there dog so much!! I have taken a dog back to a house before after seeing it nearly get hit by a car (driver had to swerve and slam brakes on) the dog then ran home and I followed it to tell the owner what had happened. He was an older fella, who had a care factor of zero about the whole situation and just said " oh i spose i better shut the gate" Made me FURIOUS!!! If someone came to my house and told me that i would have been horrified and so grateful by dog was ok. Some people just shouldn't own pets. But hey I could talk about that subject for hours. I myself have made many animal ownership mistakes over the years and im not perfect but I have learnt from them. Luckly Polar is in the right family
