  1. Thanks so much for all the replies everyone! I now know that I have the option of using another vet just around the corner who doesn't keep overnight and is slightly cheaper. The vet that keeps overnight is the one that we had to use for innoculations because that's where the first one was done before we got Charlie. We have no other experience with them but there's more than one vet and we saw 2 different ones for innoculations. The vet around the corner we used to see regularly before we had to have our cat PTS 2yrs ago. He was wonderful with her and very caring (she had feline immunity prob that needed expensive drugs to control and he discounted them heavily for us.). I think well be going back to him :-) again, thanks for all the information.
  2. The vet we've been going to has advised they have a mandatory overnight stay after male desexing. Is this normal? They have no humans stay onsite overnight so my dog that usually sleeps in our room and is not used to being alone would be quite stressed I assume. I've already bought a Bunnings cage planning for this and would think that him in there with a collar on being watched by us would be better... Just wondering if I should start looking for another vet...
  3. She did give him a hug before we realized she had been I'll, and then Charlie climbed in her lap on the way home. She had stopped throwing up about 2hrs previously and had used the hand wipe stuff so I'm hoping we're all going to be OK. I've got a uni exam tomorrow so definitely can't afford to get it!
  4. Uh Oh! I'll just have to cross everything that he doesn't get it. I carry antibacterial handwash in the car and we all used it so hopefully ... Thanks for your replies!
  5. Took our 5 month old puppy with us to pick up our daughter from a weekend away with friends. Turns out they all had gastro over the weekend! Our daughter only stopped throwing up 2hrs before they arrived back in Sydney and we picked her up :-/ So, since the puppy had to sit with her in the backseat on the way home, I need to know if HE'S likely to get it? I'm hoping not... Anybody know if dogs catch our gastro bugs? Regards
