  1. I also thought that, but they didn't have the ridge..... Hopefully the dogs and the owner will be at the gym tomorrow afternoon so I can find out for sure ridgebacks don't always have ridges. they can be purebreds but cant be shown if they don't have a ridge. thats what i read anyway.
  2. Yes she is, her litter is due today The reason I am using the LOVE theme is because Jett's registered name is Willemstadt Elite Love hmm i better rethink our litter theme lol. chandra is due on my wedding anniversary hence love. you have come up with some really pretty ones. and some great suggestions from others all the best with the other rotti litter smooth whelping vibes heading her way. hope you get ten names you are happy with Emery, what about an eternal or togetherness theme. eg. Forever in my heart always by my side soul mate truly yours truly madly deeply its love with a twist.
  3. How about your whole household is vegetarian but you bought a deep freezer dedicated to all the meat for your dog.
  4. didn't sound like a debate at all to me, just people offering what they thought works on an afghan coat.
  5. the weather is a bit miserable. I'm out for this weekend regardless as the big boy is recovering from a little incident. I'll be down the following Saturday to check out some shows, so if we cancel i'll be able to do saturday morning.
  6. I'm the crazy dog lady in town because people think i'm way to attached to my dog. I talk about him more than i talk about my children. Its a semi rural area so people think dos should be outside and should be earning their keep. eg cattle dogs, border collies. I take him to the bus stop nearly every day and i talk to him.
  7. Really hoping for good news.
  8. what, like on every episode it is written do not try this at home without a professional? I couldn't articulate but you've summed up my feelings on it. I saw a behaviourist at 14 weeks for some serious issues and the methods were like cesar milans and the biggest help we could have got. a puppy develops its status in the household pretty quickly. we were surprised at how quickly. he was not just being a 'puppy'.
  9. JPS, apparantly she will have severe HD by the time she is 12 months......I took her to see Dr. Wing Tip Wong in Werribee and he said she is completely fine, he wasn't the specialist the vet referred me too though. I wanted a completely unbias opinion and people on here have said good stuff about him. Yep i heard that at 12 weeks with my boy. biggest load of money hungry bull shit ever and scared the absolute $h1t out of me. i cried all afternoon. the vet just didn't understand a sighthound and 12 months later my boy is perfectly healthy. I got a second and third opinion when he was 12 weeks which were that there was no problem. i empathise.
  10. i selected Most of the time as while i'm not keen on use of a shock collar which i saw him use once.
  11. i hit enter accidentally and fixed it quickly. you guys are way too quick.
  12. Many times I have seen people mention the use of cesar milan books or training as a negative. I'm really curious as to why people are negative about Cesar. I know there are also a lot of supporters. Myself included. So why the negativity. Those who are negative have you watched many episodes? just curious. I always felt that he wasn't terribly harsh, but mainly used body language and the idea of a pack leader. I have personally seen harsher methods in person than i have seen from the show. For those who don't like Cesars methods, what have you seen that you specifically didn't like.
  13. I am really hoping that they pull through. Poor mites. Please don't feel bad, these things happen.
  14. i think the judging one was nicely composed. I really don't care for the weimeraner pic.
  15. My vet had to send the blood to the company Gribbles and then they called me to say that the sample was being sent to WA and then to the UK. who knows why. they were surprised too.
  16. does that depend on the numbers on the result? Not really - titre levels will fluctuate based on exposure etc. The point for me is that if the dog has immunity, it has immunity. What you are really checking for is appropriate immune response, so if the average dog comes across an average amount of parvo on walks etc, it will have an average titer response. A very high response might just mean the dog has come in contact with a lot of the virus recently and so the immune system has responded to the threat. That's pretty pricey what you paid though. i'll be shopping around for the price next time. its the first titre my vet had done it seems and the price was more than likely the company they chose. I've since heard of similar costs for the titre.
  17. So we got Oberon titre tested a week ago. Didn't think to ask how much it would be (stupidly). I'd last read on here that people had paid on average $70 - $120. My bill was $295. Anyone thats not what this post is about - lesson learnt, ask the cost first. Oberons results came back good. Which is fantastic. I don't know the exact results, i'll find out when i go back in. For those interested he'd had an 8 week and 12 week shot only. not endorsing only 2 shots but thats what he had. So my questions how often do those who get titres done do them? yearly? how much do you pay for your titre test? how much do you pay for a c3 vaccination?
  18. TM pups are the cutest ever. like little lions.
  19. Sorry to disagree but none of those are premium quality foods. I wouldn't feed any one of those brands of food to my dogs. Too many grains and fillers. Hills and Eukanuba are premium brands (supercoat isn't I realised after I posted) Have you read the ingredient list on Hills and Euk? IMO they're no better in quality than the supermarket brands. i think its that food is classed as standard premium and super premium. online hills and euk are in premium. brands such as eaglepack, royal canin and artemis are generally classed super premium. thats what i've found them categorised as on some websites.
  20. I'll see if i can make it. its a crazy weekend for us. would love to otherwise.
  21. looks fine for a sighthound to me. My boy if he knows even a small amount of raw food is on offer or likely that day will just not touch his kibble. much easier to keep his weight on with raw but he also does fine on kibble.
  22. And well, as they say... someone has to graduate bottom of every class! yep.
