Have any members had any experience good or bad with groomers on brisbane Northside. We have been looking in vain for one reasonably close to Carseldine. Thought for the day: If sponges didn't grow in the ocean, just think how much deeper it would be...???

congratulations_bearHi there, does anyone know of a decent groomer fo cavaliers (Brisbane Northside)?? We did find one but she clearly was not used to grooming Cav's. Whilst my wife and I take care of his coat we would like to have him groomed once in a while....I fully understand that any info is merely a guide and we have to see for ourselves. I concur with the info here we have an 11 month old cav (Monty) black&tan, he is lovely, we had a ruby in the U.K. Does anyone have any tips for getting knots out of the coat.?? We live in North Brisbane (Taigum) and to date have not found a decent Cavvy groomer. Regards PC

These problems normally arise through our humanising the dog...he is a pack animal and "not" human, dogd do not reason as humans do. We cured our dog from separation anxiety by not saying goodbye to him, no eye contact just walk out and upon return do not go straight to him and make a fuss as this will make the problem worse Its difficult but ignore him when you return, No eye contact, do a couple of things and then give him some attention....Timewise, dogs have no conception of time if you are away 5 mins or 5 hours. You can cure problems that previous owners have created...We had a rottweiller that every morning when I went to his kennel he would cower...I overcame it by just going into the garden and allowing him to come to me when he wanted to. He must have been hit for fouling or something...... Regards PC

Hi Folks, Just recently our 14 week Cav has taken to wetting in its bed. For instance today he was out and about with ample opportunity to go "Potty" which he did not do...then after about 2 minutes of being in his cage and sleeping quarters he peed on the blanket. Does anyone have any idea's why he should start doing that, he doesn't mind his cage etc and has never made a fuss when in it. He will do a similar thing outside, he will pee 6 inches from his area to pee in the home, fortunately we have tiled floors so its not a drama and we never ever tell him off about it. Has anyone else experienced this or know of a cure.???? Thanks PC. The phantom piddler.!!

Thanks for all the practical info in this thread, we had a cav in the U.K. and when we returned to OZ in January 09 we had to re home him, I never thought I would shed so many tears over a dog...They are "Special" little animals with an adorable personality...We recently obtained a male Black & Tan "Monty" he also we can see will grow to love. Hi Folks, Our cavalier king Charles pup is 14 weeks, We recently arrived back from the u.k. where the policy is not to neuter until 1 year. Here in Australia it appears to be 5-8 months. Our Cav is a little different inasmuch as his testicles are up inside and haven't dropped as of yet. I would be interested to get a general consensus on the topic. PC

Hi I am completely new to the forum, I read yesterday about the compost frame and purchased a 1x4 set at Bunnings Carseldine, Brisbane today for $26:99 stock number 3160000 aisle (22) Thank you so much for this tip I now have a decent pen with all the necesary requirements for a small amount of money. Should I desire it will be very easy to cut out a door. I didn't use the steel connectors but instead used HD cable straps. I also thought that if a stronger bond was needed it would be easy to put a door hinge around the meeting parts and put a small nut and bolt through the screw holes Thanks again for such a practicle tip, should anyone in the area need any they had about another 4 X4 sets or so in stock.
