  1. We have a Sashvet near us. We will book her in with Sash & explain we are happy with our Vet but just need the operation to be done asap - our Vet will understand I'm sure. Thank you for the reply.
  2. My miniature poodle is 8 years old & because of her high activity she has a cruciate ligament injury to her left rear leg that needs surgery. She did this 2 weeks ago & is booked in for surgery late January as the surgeon is on holidays. It worries me what is it doing to her other rear leg as it is taking the weight of her injured leg. Can anyone suggest what I can do we are very happy with our Vet but feel we need to get her in to get this fixed now not late January.
  3. I think giving her the medication over two days will mean that the medication is ineffective. Have you contacted the manufacturer to see what they say? No I will contact them - it's such a problem giving her 1/2 as it is.
  4. Stop grinding it up and just give it to her in a couple of little cut bits. Even a tiny tablet ground up makes a lot of powder to be disguised - almost impossible. I have discovered that my dogs love Cream Cheese and the tablets are just wolfed down. I have already tried her with small pieces of the tablet & she will not touch it - so far so good this month.
  5. Still more great ideas coming in thank you - today the monthly Panoramis is due so I cut the tablet in half - ground it into a powder then worked it into a little peanut butter - I tried her with a little piece & she ate it then spat a little out - then I made her dinner & put the rest of the peanut butter in the middle of her dinner expecting to find it there when she finished. To my surprise she has eaten it with her dinner & when I put this in the peanut butter the chemical smell was not obvious. So tomorrow is the other half & I might put it in the cream cheese to keep her guessing. I have 2 Panoramis tablets left then I am trying Senteniel.
  6. Thank you a good idea but Panaramis covers many things fleas, heartworm & others - a good idea re coating tablets in butter.
  7. Hi Trifecta it doesn't bother me to shove it down her throat as that is what I have done with all my past dogs but this tablet is so large & thick I would need to cut it into 4 pieces & after the first piece shoved down I know I would have trouble with the other 3. This is the last thing I want to do because I know I will get impatient & she will get frightened.
  8. Thank you for these great ideas keep them coming - I will try these - I'm sure one will work
  9. Thank you Steph for your fast reply - my dog is a miniature poodle & the Panoramis is about as big as a 5c coin & very thick - maybe I could break it into 4 & try the cheese trick - I'll see how I go
  10. Hi I have a miniature poodle & used Advocate until she had a reaction to it so I changed to Panoramis tablets. The problem is when I crush the Panoramis into her food it gives off a chemical smell & she will not eat it. I think I will 1/2 the tablet & give this over 2 days but does anyone else have this problem with Panoramis & what do you do?
  11. Hi, Thank you for the replies & that is what I have heard about others digging the dead dog up. So I will tell my son for him to help his friend so this does'nt happen as there are children playing in this yard also. Unbelievable some of these replies & very upsetting for the owners.
