  1. A bit far but the Midland Gate butcher (outside Coles) has knuckle bones. Also other good stuff like chicken feet and pigs ears and trotters but you have to ask as they are often stored in the cool room.
  2. No, sorry Candice but one comment seems to generate the "You performance people are always complaining" response and I've heard it too many times over the years! Not aimed at you personally.
  3. Please note.... one complaint by one person... and suddenly we are all being tarred with the same brush! Every other comment was in praise of the person organising prizes. That gets a little tiresome. BTW I have put up my hand to steward Sunday and Monday.
  4. I beleive they can be smaller and still produce viable sperm. They do return to normal size eventually but that takes a bit longer.
  5. Jumabarr has the right of it! Most dogs have a preferred side just as we do. My Aussie is left pawed and my Kelpie is right pawed. Watch how he picks up a dumbbell or runs out to a spot (UD box or UDX cones shows this up very well) If you train him to a mat with a turn and sit, watch the direction he turns to sit. In herding I am working on getting Zac to turn and circle on his least favoured side. Teach him to heel on the right just to even things up a bit. No harm in getting him checked out either.
  6. Look at any news feature on dog showing...guess where they focus first?? of course its the Standard Poodle in all his glory and they make fun of it. Next they usually go for the Chinese Crested and then the British Bulldog. Frustrating but very predictable! The best way to get a decent news story on any dog sport is to write your own and submit. If its any good they will tweek it and send out a photographer. The aim is to make their life easy and you are more likely to have it published with the correct facts :D
  7. I made my own so as to ensure a correct fit but I can recommend Janets products and service in the link amypie posted. I get my scent articles from her and the service is excellent.
  8. I agree mirawee...Penny has done an awesome job and we should be happy with what we get. I remember last year (or was that the year before?) we were going to fundraise and organise better prizes but I think the priority of actually getting the performance events to actually be run kinda took over as that was in jeopardy. I organized vouchers for every competitor at last years Challenge but the participating numbers were still disappointing. I do wish WA would do what is the norm at most big events in the East and have a Winner of Winners. That would be where the highest awards and prizes would go in performance just the same as BIS. We have that at the State trial but no other trials. We don't even acknowledge a High in Trial here. The Royal? That has never had great prises for performance other than Sponsership and we were told that we are not permitted to organise sponsership due to conflicts. Believe me people tried and had good stuff lined up and were told its a no go, so in that regard we basically get what we are given....for the Royal....not much!!!!! Gone are the days of sponsers umbrellas and big bags of dog bickies!
  9. Lots of bubbly flowing tonight!!!! Yay for Moo and Brookie :champagne:
  10. Some great work in all the rings tonight...dont we just love the night trials! Well done RubyStar...your girls were lovely. Caffy's Snazzy was fabulous tonight just missing one thing but gee he looked good Yay to Ptolomy's Moo who was a star in UDX and the baby Strauss (not anymore ;) ) working like a dream. My brag is that Brookie won UD and came second by a couple of points in UDX with a really nice round. second quallie on the board for Gr CH ... three to go :D
  11. Oooops! Think my name may be mud too...oh well!
  12. Well you're a bit special! ;) I haven't had a fb message despite being on the Western Classic group... just the generic email on WAclick! Not Sarah's fault but gee it really is poor form
  13. My name's up there now too....double chop Totally agree with you Ptolomy...those letters mean so much especially the first one :D I will be watching for Brookie's UDX title to be catelogued....so far three trials...three misses. Its on the entry form!
  14. Thanks guys :D Yep the champagne flowed that evening :champagne: He worked beautifully and the mistakes were those of enthusiasm so really happy.
  15. First trial of the year last night and Brookie won UD with a really nice accurate round scoring 197 Love the night trials!
  16. Back way home in the hills RubyStar. It was right next to horse paddocks with a couple of pony's who live there. We mainly have dugites up here and they are pretty easy to identify. The good thing about them is that they are inclined to slither away from you and not turn to attack like Tiger snakes do. That story ran through my head at the time and I did check the rear mirror and it was still on the road...phew! I went past the spot the next morning but no snake there.
  17. On the subject of snakes do watch out...in the last two nights coming home from training I have seen two of the biggest dugites I've seen in years! I ran one over...not by choice as I had a car tailgating me and the damn snake was across the middle of the road with not much room either side of it!
  18. $10 for the risk of being bitten..... You would have to be honest with the groomer and for their own safety they would more than likely muzzle him. This is likely to push him way out of his comfort zone. Do you think he could cope with that? He is pushing the bounderies by mouthing you in protest. I would be embarking on a routine of de-sensitizing him and teaching him that he may not like it but he does have to accept people touching his feet. Use rewards and perhaps work up to a tiny clip of the tips just before his dinner.
  19. I did this and kept the bits in a plastic box for when I was able to fix it....I threw it out in the end Sorry no help at all.
  20. If he's dropping in place and not coming forward I wouldn't worry about it. Next time you see Deb, run it past her for a veterinary opinion.
  21. Could be coincidence and she really does have KC...it happens. FWIW Brookie got into the kitty litter a couple of years ago and scoffed lots...(dogs really are revolting sometimes ) It was the natural bran variety which clumps and can be flushed ...purple packet. Later that evening it came out both ends...yuck!!! He was fine but I did enquire and because of the brand and type it was fine. Have you still got the packet? Have a look at the fine print and see if there is a customer service that you can call. Fingers crossed and I hope its all ok with Misty.
  22. I had a Wahl die on me a few years ago...turned out to be the connection where the cord meets the body of the clipper. Easy fix under warranty. customer service for Wahl is excellent in my experience.
  23. Too many!!! ;) Zac is scratching heaps at the moment and I have gone over him with a fine toothed comb...absolutely no fleas! I think sometimes they are just scratching out dead coat. ETA if the skin is not red or sore I wouldn't be concerned...a hair dryer on full blast no heat can show legions on the skin.
