I would give them another go based on that response.

The OP hasn't come back on this thread...it would be nice to know what breed we are talking about and other information requested.

I'll fix your drop on recall if you fix my judges scent

Not getting into the politics of showing... In competition level Obedience trialling we train for distractions...its called positive proofing. Your dog needs to know and understand the behaviour you are asking of it...ie gait without losing attention I assume? I would start with a low level of distraction that your dog can easily ignore and reward that. Gradually up the ante until the greater the distraction the more the dog will focus on the taught behaviour. Ordinarily I don't like using the dogs name as a distraction to proof against but I would consider calling 'puppy puppy puppy' fair distraction. (its not just breeders that use that call..I think most of our dogs would respond to that if not proofed) We have gone to the extreme of having someone calling our dog by name in training but that is only when the dog is very well trained and knows his job. Remember its positive proofing so you need to reward big time and often when the dog gets it right and if he gets it wrong you need to back off a bit and set him up to be right so he can earn a reward. Its worth training and the confidence you will both gain may just give you the winning edge over the low lifes trying to mess you up...wouldn't that be justice!!!

He's a boy remember!!!! Not happening in 5 days!!!! What do you want? An instant splat?? YEP - is that asking for too much??? Yep I like Brookies DOR too - he comes in fast and then stops and does a fold back drop. Hmm maybe I need to watch what she is going to do with Zac and copy. Off to email Deb to suggest she teaches Zac a DOR in the next 5 days.......

That's a brag in itself RS doesn't come without training!

Need more information. Have you contacted the breeder? Not something I would expect in an Aussie but there may be extenuating circumstances...can you elaborate please.

Pool fencing works well and you can often get it cheap second hand. If you can attach it to the house you only have to worry about 3 sides. Yeah I know and thanks I'm having second thoughts about renting the place on 5 acres. I would really prefer to just move somewhere with a backyard. It's too much to take on making a fully secure yard.

He's resting up for a good recovery. What can you feed him? Rice, pasta...mashed sweet potato or pumkin maybe with sardine juice??? I've never fed that way but that springs to mind. Its so not like him to refuse food poor boy.
-
Poor Moo! Keeping everything crossed for him...hope its something minor. He has anaemia and is dehydrated, so bloods will hopefully give us a clue as to what is going on. His get up and go has gone and he spend lots of time sleeping and the biggie - he is off his food

So sorry to hear about your Miss Kitty Take care

I'm judging the ET this year. Anyone coming please please remember your bike helmet! We had some trouble last time with people scrambling around trying to borrow helmets and if you don't have one you can't do the test.

Yep! Waggle Bums rock We don't have that issue with Aussies, they wiggle their whole butts and in some cases the whole body in several different directions at once. No doubt when a NBT/docked Aussie is happy!
-
Yep but we were all too wasted and agility was a bust for us today! early mornings and late flights don't agree with me

Congrats RubyStar :D Both your girls were fantastic today Good luck tomorrow!!! Thanks to everyone for your congrats on Brookie's Wins at the Sydney Royal. Very proud of my boy Pax's lovely boy Prix put in some excellent rounds and showed that he is a star!!! Looked pretty good in his bling collar too :D Have to say I loved the atmosphere of the Sydney Royal. It really is a special trial and everyone goes out of their way to make it so. Love the champagne and nibbles they put on before presentations too.

Well done wuffles and LL you should both be very proud of your kids That does seem to be a typical Qld heeling pattern... are there any judges who deviate from it or is it kinda set in stone??? Wuffles..just a comment on your recall...(I am the hand Nazi)...watch where your hands start and finish!! It sux when you lose points but your dog does it right!! :D
