  1. My 2 grey will walk for over an hour but they are only 16 and 19 mo
  2. There is a greyhound walk oraganised for tomorrow at Karkarook Park near Moorabbin at 10.30. You are quite welcome to come along at have a chat and meet some of the greys. Some of us are carers for GAP so you might meet some that are looking for homes Lynda
  3. My son makes stickers to order, can do just about anything you want. Let me know if you want details
  4. I have a 15 yo JRT an 11 golden ret (Until this morning) and a15mo grey all desexed females with no problems. Recently added a desexed male and havnt had a problem with any of them. I have only ever had females , labs, golden ,JRT and greys until the latest addition and have all gotten on fine. Suppose it depends on the individual dog though
  5. I stayed with her at the vets. I said i wouldnt cry but didnt make it
  6. After discussion with the vet and with her ongoing health problems (which where many) and her behavior over the weekend it was decided that it was best that Kobi was PTS RIP Kobes Lynda
  7. It quite weird that the greyhounds keep growling at her whenever she come near, they have never done this before
  8. she does usually walk around a lot after the fit but it usually only last 15-30 min not this long, she has settled this afternoon. I will take her to the vet tomorrow
  9. My 11 yo GR looks like she has spent half the night and some of today walking back and forth around the house to the point that she has worn done a nail so far it is bleeding. I have had to tie her up to stop her from walking. She is epileptic and has been fitting on and off for the past 2 days ( she usually doesnt fit for months then fits on and off for 24 hrs). Her personality seems to have changed, her eyesite has deteriorated and she has been trying to play with the greys which she never does, they keep growling at her but but she takes no notice. I am convinced everytime she fits it causes some brain damage (dont know if that can happen). She is becoming a very weird dog
  10. Back in January I saw a greyhound on the hawsbury site (im in Vic), i have always managed to put these dogs out of my mind but Woody (now Bailey) caught my eye and never having done this before I decided I would rescue him, some how arranged for him to be picked up and transported to Vic (despite not Knowing what the hell i was doing). Last week he was sent to GAP and got his green collar. I fully intended on rehoming him but he is now curled up next to me on the couch (his favorite place) and where he will stay for at least the next 10 years
  11. 18 months ago i decided to foster because i didnt want another dog ( had 2 oldies ) . I was looking to guide dogs but I was to far away for them, so did a bit of research and decided to foster for GAP. I got to number 13 before i failed and by then i was hooked on greys i just love them, then i rescued one from Hawkesbury intending to rehome him but looks like he is staying. So now I have 2 greys when i didnt want another dog but they are just great. Just love greys
  12. "I found cold water works the best, gets everything back into place" when you say this what do you mean, a cold shower, spray with cold water. I have just got (5 months ago) my first male ever and now im worried that i wont know what to do if it happens. Mind you my male is not very big in that dept and dont often see his pink pencil
  13. SBT123 do you go through an agency to find boarders or is it just a word of mouth. This something i have been thinking about doing but dont know where to start Lynda
  14. When I walk my greyhound he will poo 3-4 time in 45 min. First one is normal the others he just does a little bit of runny poos. He seems healthy in every other way. I feed him advance kibble mixed with cooked mince/or chicken rice and veges. This makes it difficult to walk him anywhere there is a lot of people shops etc. Any ideas ?
  15. that makes sense persephone he has gone from his trainer to the pound to my home to the GAP kennels and now back home so has spent alot of time in kennels . After many fosters i also believe that dogs live in the moment. I am sure he will soon settle back to his own self
  16. I will be glad when he is back to his old self.
  17. I picked up my grey yesterday after a week in the kennels and he didnt want to know me. Got him home and my other grey was soooo excited to see him but he wasnt interested, she spent all afternoon trying to get him to play but he just wanted to lay on his bed, He usually likes to lay on the couch next to me not on the floor. He does seem a little happier today though Lynda
  18. What area is she in. Does she want someone to look after in her home and keep an eye on the house as well or to take them in?
  19. It says you are in Qld in your profile. The left hand side of the screen under state says QLD
  20. Do you know if the pup has had any vaccinations etc. If someone was to foster her would you be able to do all the leg work in rehoming her Kristina?
