What My Vet Told Me...
witheverythingiam replied to Roxy_and_Missys_Mum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Be as smarmy as you like - like water off a ducks back Not defensive at all. I have not indicated in my posts here what I feed my dogs? Please feel free to post your research findings, otherwise don't quote? Pretty easy really. And research indicates something could be causing something? Not really conclusive evidence is it? -WithEverythingIAm -
What My Vet Told Me...
witheverythingiam replied to Roxy_and_Missys_Mum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Which is why a lot of people like to feed their dogs on BARF, OR natural dog biscuits like Nutro Natural Choice or Eagle Pack? Also, there's no way in hell you can absolutely positively attribute diet to things like arthritis, cancer, eye problems. Who says these wouldn't have happened of a healthier diet? That's like saying Vegans will never get sick, as they eat healthier. -WithEverythingIAm -

Please provide us a copy of this research? Did you know 42.7% of all facts & statistics are made up on the spot? (I googled this) There's been QUITE a few newbies lately who've been sprouting "facts" without evidence to back up what they're saying. Trolls? -WithEverythingIAm -
What My Vet Told Me...

See when I think of "pet mince" I think of going to a dog food supplier, and buying a 25kg frozen block of beef mince, which contains no preservatives. But you're right Puggles - if the pet mince contains preservatives to keep it fresh, and not going green, then in that instance, if I wouldn't eat it, it's not good enough for my dogs either? -WithEverythingIAm -
What My Vet Told Me...
witheverythingiam replied to Roxy_and_Missys_Mum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
1 - He doesn't sell Nutrience, and is trying to get you to buy what he sells 2 - Do wild dogs/dingos/wolves eat cooked meat? No? Do they die? No? I've never met any dogs who've not been able to break down bacteria from the hydrochloric acid in their stomachs 3 - You know what's in human grade mince, but in the wild animals will eat stomach contents before the muscle meats which go into human grade meat. -WithEverythingIAm -
Well there you go - I'll have to get out to one of these herding events one day! You SHOULD be proud of him - he's grown into a lovely young dog! -WithEverythingIAm

Vet Recommendations Brisbane
witheverythingiam replied to Sheridan's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I know quite a few dog/cat breeders use Northside Vet Care in Strathpine. I take my kittens there to be desexed before re-homing. I've never actually had a consult there, and you have to specifically ask for cat desexing certificates but not much choice when it comes to early desexing, so??? -WithEverythingIAm -
Awww look at lil Jont-star all grown & and chasing sheepies! LOL. What was the aim of when he was trying to do for all those non-herders like myself? -WithEverythingIAm

I would give all the adult dogs in the place a capstar once every 2nd day for a week. That should get rid of all the adult fleas on the animals. Then when the advantage arrives, start on that. One thing you have to think of is, if you're going a place with the dogs which you're likely to pick up fleas eg, going for walk, dog parks, dog shows, or even if you have cats in the house/yard that have free range the place, they will bring back fleas each time. -WithEverythingIAm

There was a dog at the vets I work, and it was COVERED in fleas, so we gave it a capstar tablet, and popped it back in the cage. Went to check back an hour later, and at LEAST 100 dead/dying fleas in the cage with the dog!!! Just goes to prove, it really does work, and is a flea rinse in a tablet! -WithEverythingIAm

I've known Vets to charge up to $20 just for a nail clip. Well they aren't getting a consult fee, so I guess that makes up for it. But then they also give complimentary nail clips for surgery cases too. -WithEverythingIAm

HAHA! Nice - just the kinda client you want SammyB! NOT! -WithEverythingIAm PS - Tell her you're booked for 3 weeks solid, but if she wants an appt you can do her dog for $XXX on >>> Day (Normal rate or add extra $ to normal rate)

Mobile Dog Groomer Sunshine Coast?
witheverythingiam replied to shana's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Don't know any "groomers" as opposed to washer/dryers who are mobile around here? Buderim Vet Surgery have a Groomer though, and there's also a grooming parlour next to the Vet at Mooloolaba on Brisbane Rd. Sorry couldn't help? -WithEverythingIAm -
What Breeds Can Be Used For Agility
witheverythingiam replied to chloebear's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Boxers make great agility dogs. They love doing "fun" sports, and naturally excel at bouncing & kidney bean-ing - exactly what is needed to make a great agility dog! -WithEverythingIAm -
Sledding In Queensand
witheverythingiam replied to Working Dog Lover's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Hi Audrey I think they've finished up for the year now, so perhaps if you e-mailed say "secretary" etc there is no one with this role anymore etc? I live at Beerwah where they hold their events, but STILL have yet to go check 'em out? LOL I'm such a lazyarse! -WithEverythingIAm -
Can You Have Too Many Fingers In The Pie ?
witheverythingiam replied to BC's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Good Question... With my Boxer, I've usually only done one thing at a time, which kinda complement eachother. Obedience/Endurance until title earned (maybe 4 months doing together), and also Obedience/Agility together (6 months). We were taking him to Lure Coursing last year, and earlier this year, but not doing any "sports" at the moment. What would complement Lure Coursing? Herding perhaps? Would also like to try dog sledding & weightpulling which would go well together (both requiring using same muscles) but would have to build up the muscles again before trying this? -WithEverythingIAm -
Dr Ray Taylor Killed In Road Accident
witheverythingiam replied to Tarmons's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
RIP Ray Never met you or heard of you, but you did a great honour to Qld Dog Club getting new sports started up! Thank you, and condolences to your family! -WithEverythingIAm -
Does anyone know of any weight pulling in Qld? I'd love to go see it in action! I'd been meaning to get into sledding this season, but was too involved in the cat showing so had no money. Maybe I could get my Boxer Rocky's muscles back in action and have a go at weight pulling? He's already tried Obedience, Agility, Endurance, & Lure Coursing - he loved all except the boring obedience LOL! Would love to try out herding, just to prove a point (Boxer's can do anything!), but don't think the big guns would let a Boxer enter. -WithEverythingIAm
