  1. Oh about the Natural Balance. I e-mailed pricelesspets, and they also sell the puppy/high energy food, and also the "lite" one for porky labradors - same price as the regular on their website. Was thinking of getting one of each of these to try also, as I have an energetic Boxer, and... you guessed it - a Lab -WithEverythingIAm
  2. my kind of girl I need a life jacket for the Lab cos she doesn't know when to stop - even in the surf! & I need a life jacket for the Boxer cos he doesn't know he has back legs to use to kick with! He'd drown without his if he accidently fell in! We have flashy looking "Ruffwear" LifeJackets. -WithEverythingIAm

  5. I remember the 1st 2 ingredients Australian Rice & Lamb Meal - Omega Blend was somewhere on the 1st line too I'll go get it -WithEverythingIAm
  6. OK - it arrived yesterday The verdict is in - they ate it without anything added to it. My fussy Boxer & even non-fussy Labrador wouldn't eat Eagle Pack plain - only if it had sardines/egg/yoghurt etc added to it!!! So yeah - that's why i was looking for something different, but just as natural to feed when I'm feeling lazy with feeding the BARF, and getting it prepared etc. Much cheaper too! -WithEverythingIAm
  7. I've just ordered some so, I'll soon be able to tell you - once it arrives anyway! -WithEverythingIAm
  8. YAY! Congrats to Panda, Jazz, Skye & Gemma!!! Well done! -WithEverythingIAm
  9. LOL - I started a new trend - waiting waiting brigade :D Not that I mind waiting... I have e-mailed the NDTF, and even though I'm doing Vet Nursing through TAFE, I won't be able to get RPL for the Veterinary Modules I've already done Monitor Canine Health Care Provide Basic First Aid for Animals Follow OH & S Procedures in the Animal Care Environment Participate in Workplace Communications because they are SLIGHTLY different to what I'm studying..... I TOTALLY hate OH&S subjects LOL So BORING! Otherwise I probably wouldn't have minded doing the fly to Melbourne & back thing as much. I'd LOVE to do Animal Acting which they used to have as an elective, but don't seem to have anymore Oh well... Waiting Waiting..... -WithEverythingIAm
  10. Have been placed on the list for when it's available thru Distance Education... just can't afford to pay flights to Melbourne, accomodation, food one weekend each month, and don't feel Delta would be my type of course... waiting waiting... -WithEverythingIAm
  11. Nope - Interceptor here or Sentinel if there's a bad flea infestation? Wouldn't give it to a dog under 6 months, as Vet just won't do it. Plus it's charged /KG here, so having 2 Large Breeds, it's just not as economical as the tablets. -WithEverythingIAm
  12. Titles or trials? Titles are gained the same way around Australia - go to ANKC website for Endurance Test rules. If you're after trial dates, do you get dog world? You'd have to be a member of your state dog club to get it - it has all the trial dates, and who to send entry for to etc. -WithEverythingIAm PS - Yes Cass - have you started training yet? Id' leave it until late summer if you're not doing test until next year?
  13. Hi I already posted in the Barf diet thread in General Topic - go to bigdogpetfoods.com website & e-mail them to ask about having BARF diet delivered. Although Billinghurst's RAW BARF patties are more expensive than $5.95. Maybe you should try bigdogpetfoods.com Greyhound Racing foods, which is BARF diet, but you will only be paying $2.50/KG if you buy in 20KG lots? And I'd add Eagle Pack holistic dry food if you want to add another natural kibble to diet along with BARF. -WithEverythingIAm
  14. We buy commercially prepared BARF diet direct from manufacturers. Because our Boxer is a performance dog, we use a Greyhound BARF mix, which is higher in fat. Manufacturer's suggestion is 20g/kg of dog/day. So our 25KG Boxer gets 500g/day. So that makes it just under $1.40/day for him x 7 = Just under $10/week. He could easily be sustained as just this diet alone, but we also like to buy chicken carcasses/necks/maryland, Beef/Lamb bones & offal, and also Eagle Pack dog food, mixed with Lactose Free Milk (Cheaper than pet milk), and eggs, & sardines, as well as Glucosamine, Fish Oil, and Sprint Oil for a bit of Variety. But yes the BARF diet is the main staple. hope this answer's your question? -WithEverythingIAm
  15. What are you currently feeding her? Dry? Wet? Meat? To "fatten her up" you need fatty foods. Will she eat/lick cream, cream cheese, egg, ice cream, cheese? Also, there's veterinary products like Nutrigel, Omega 3 etc. I personally use "Weaner" Barf diet which is manufactured & sold at www.bigdogpetfoods.com I also Add a product called "Sprint Oil" to the dogs diet, which is high is Omega 3 & 6. If you're really worried, take her back to the vet, and check weight, and book in for consult. -WithEverythingIAm
  16. What are you worming with? -WithEverythingIAm
  17. Well I can say it's not me ;) I'm going to the Snow early Sept, and have no spare money :D Would love to go though... -WithEverythingIAm
  18. LOL - Are they GIANT sheep Panda Your 2 girls look soooooooo little compared to those big bald sheepies!!! Pics look great! -WithEverythingIAm
  19. I'm with spoiltlabs - Lustre Aid is what we use here - we don't use it regularly though - only when we remember. That is usually when we clip their nails, as it's kept with the nail clippers - so once ever 1-2 months? They usually smell nice from their Fido's dog wash, so don't really require it after their bath. But Lustre Aid isn't really that expensive - like $12 for a 100ml spray??? We bought one AGES ago, and not even half empty. Guess it depends how often you use it? -WithEverythingIAm
  20. I think Panda was scheduled for herding today - don't know if it is a HIT or just training? -WithEverythingIAm
  21. Wow - that was 2 years ago! LOL. It's just BASIC obedience. I'm pretty sure it was sit, forward, right about turn, heel, call your dog into a sit in front of you, then return your dog. Basic Obedience *BIG TIP* - Don't be silly and do the basic Obed offlead at start, as if you do, dog will have to do it off-lead at end of test also! Some dogs won't be willing to actually do as you ask after running 20km! So keep 'em onlead, and you can "LEAD" them to do it at the end -WithEverythingIAm
  22. I would also just like to add... GOOD LUCK to all the people who are thinking of doing their test this month as well as next who HAVEN'T STARTED TRAINING yet.... YOU'RE REALLY GONNA NEED IT. Don't think that every dog who turns up will pass - if you think this, you're DREAMING! There was an Alaskan Malamute who turned up at ours & didn't even pass the 2nd leg - it was withdrawn by the people running it, as it was lagging - I think it was HOT, with all it's fur! Also, we had a dumb vet, she said after the 2nd check "You know you can withdrawal your dog if you weren't - Boxer's weren't bred to do Endurance" - HELLO?!? Has she not read the Boxer Standard? Said it to quite a few other dog's owners too. & None of these dogs temps were up or panting excessively! But I said, no it's OK, we have done 20KM whilst training, and I know he can do it. -WithEverythingIAm
  23. KitKat - i did the ET test with my Boxer Rocky (who you will meet on Sunday at Lure Coursing). He was 2years, 2months & 1Day old when he did his test. He actually pulled me the whole way!!! Here's a few links which I've done on ET - First is a list of stuff I thought would be useful for others interested in doing the ET - 2nd is pics of the ET test when we did it in 04 at Laidley with Ipswich Obedience Club. MayneBoxers Endurance Tips! Photos from our Endurance Test Group 2 - Laidley 04 Hope this helps! -WithEverythingIAm aka Angela ETA - There was only one "SILLY MAN" who actually ran it - everyone else biked it!
  24. What is drive training for? Would it improve my dogs Obedience? I was thinking of starting Obedience lessons again (my dog has his Obed Nov S/S Cert, but that's as far as we got - he doesn't like to focus on me). Was also thinking of starting Agility Lessons later in the year. Would this be OK for this dog? -WithEverythingIAm
  25. $91 for C5 here - includes a consult in price, and dog gets going over from head to toe - a lot of dogs, vacc is the only time which dogs comes in each year. But then we also have the fact that if I dog is routinely coming in for the same problem (ie cartrophen, allergy injections, drug trials) they are only charged for medication - no consult fee is charged. So instaid of paying $50/cart inj like some of the other vets around here, they are only charged $10 or so, depending on weight. -WithEverythingIAm
