Bizzare Death (long Post)
witheverythingiam replied to Allerzeit's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I was actually thinking the EXACT SAME THING. This type of thing happens to dog who are left in cars as the body can get very hot in just 5 minutes of extreme temperatures (not saying your dogs was in the car, just giving examples). If there's no external cool air to circulate, and get to the animals, the organs will start shutting down, and once shut down, usually VERY VERY hard to get working again - almost impossible. Barking could be sign of extreme pain. Haemorraging also fits. If very hot day, and dog running around (after brain starting to shut down - losing function) then seisures & massive heart attack. Definately wouldn't rule this theory out. -WithEverythingIAm -
Not 100% sure but Natural Pet Foods Australia do delivery - not sure how expensive it would be to WA though? They have a banner ad on DOL forums... -WithEverythingIAm

Feeding Offal
witheverythingiam replied to NorthernStarPits's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Also, I do beleive the airlines tell everyone taking a pet down to Tassie, that the tape wormer has to be administered in a Vet Surgery, where they have to be kept for a number of hours, to make sure the pet hasn't thrown it up, and then the Vet has to write a letter stating that the pet has been wormed with a tape wormer tablet. At least that is what the people have told us at our surgery on a number of occasions. -WithEverythingIAm -
We don't recommend pups have proheart until they're 6 months of age at our clinic. We recommend people use Sentinel or Interceptor Spectrum up until that age to cover for heartworm. -WithEverythingIAm

Lure Coursing..... What Is It

Not sure about Melbourne - they have clubs somewhere down there, but not sure where? Usually Boxers just instinctively chase - because it just seems to be progammed into them. Someone at QLC at our first even said "I've never seen a Boxer that hasn't chased" We first found out our Boxer liked to chase things when we first got a radio controlled car, he used to chase it round the backyard trying to catch it in his mouth, and flip it over. At QLC we have a BIIIIIGGGGG enclosed fenced in area for the running of the dogs. -WithEverythingIAm -

Ditto what hesapandabear said. We do Lure with our Boxer - he loves it. in reference to the word "fit" I'd say that means "muscled" as in not fat, and can physically run the course. Some of the events at Brisbane can be 500 if run right up on the rope, but can get 700-850m if the dogs "go wide". Usually the course is a lot smaller, sometimes nice long straights, sometimes VERY zigzagged! But you won't find out what course is like until you get there on the day. -WithEverythingIAm -
Midol - between 2 years n 8 years. Waiting 10 years will be too long! -WithEverythingIAm

He's run the London Marathon quite a few times & some others in the USA like Boston, marathons are 26 miles/42kms - personally I think he's got rocks in his head, but he's got a nice butt to show for it ;) . Marathon - that's a DIRTY word in my book... -WithEverythingIAm

Um... OK I think check in was 5 or 5:30am, and started 1/2 hr later? Um, I have the mape of Laidley here - I got free from info center or caravan park or something. I could show you next time I see you. But it's like a circuit parts are around show ground, parts riding around town, and parts around a soccer oval!

Dog Sports In Qld 2007
witheverythingiam replied to Belijae's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Oh and Rocky was also the first dog ever in Bundaberg (where we were living at the time) to get his ET title also. How sad is that? I mean Laidley's only like 5hr drive from Bundy. -WithEverythingIAm -
Dog Sports In Qld 2007

Thanx Powderpuff, Ebony will be fine (she's 3), but Jarrah will have to be next year then. MrD was going to start his own thread ( ;) ) asking about endurance & people's experiences etc, so watch out for it :D . Have replied. I'm pretty sure Rocky was the youngest Boxer EVER to get his ET title, when he was 2yrs, 1 month, and 1day old. Just replied to MrD's post -WithEverythingIAm -
running? 20KM? ;) :D -WithEverythingIAm

Oh poor Ebony... But I must say she'snot dumb, but smart, like Rocky - "Why would I wanna be walking up down, left, right, sit stand drop, stay when I could just be running around doing "FUN" stuff?" If you wanted to look at my tips I did a page on my website dedicated to Endurance. Endurance Training -WithEverythingIAm

I agree - $950 is DOUBLE the usual price you'll pay for Dentals. Our highest price for dentals is $490, and that includes Pre-meds Pre-Op Blood test for Kidney function (if old dog or bad kidneys) Teeth Extractions (Loose ones we don't charge for) Dental work done with descaler Oxygen & Anaesthetic gas Breathing Tube, Catheter, IV Fluids (to prevent things going wrong, and if they did go wrong, we can rectify the situation immediately) Pain Relief & Antibiotic injection IV before they wake up Go home on Anitbiotics if necessary (infected pus filled roots of teeth) Get a printed out quote from the Vet, because I sure wouldn't be paying that much - shop around, and compare prices. -WithEverythingIAm

$950 each or for both of them? We charge between $250 & $500 depending on how many teeth need to be extracted, and how long it takes. -WithEverythingIAm
