  1. They're both the same ingredient. Is you vet getting a consult/revisit fee each time you go to have the cartrophen needle? Both work equally the same. -WithEverythingIAm
  2. RIP lil Suki - you were the most amazing little Lure Courser I ever did see! Suki's Mum! -WithEverythingIAm
  3. Sylvet Capsules from the vet - same as Cartrophen - both Pentosan Polysulfate. Both need to be kept refridgerated until used. Sylvet is just a convenience thing - ie no need to go back to vet each week/fortnight/month and pay a consult/revisit fee. And only need to pay 1 dispensing fee. Both see the same effect really. My Lab is on Cartophen Injections/Sylvet, and does well. I think I get 3 capsules for each month for my Lab, or just over 1ml of cartrophen - she's around 35KG just so you know cost wise how much you're looking at? -WithEverythingIAm
  4. Kitkat - I've never heard of either brand BUT... Have you asked if you could purchase whatever amount and get it delivered to a co-op? Then if they unload it from a truck, perhaps you could pick it up in a trailer, and store it at your home, and sell from there? Worth looking into? -WithEverythingIAm
  5. I've used all the above, and dogs only like Nutro & Ziwipeak. The Boxer had to be stood over and told to eat his Eagle Pack and Natural balance. -WithEverythingIAm
  6. I've always wanted one for my doggies:) They already have spunky lifejackets - this way they could swim in the cooler months as well as summer! Is the one you're looking at 2nd hand or brand new? I'm interested to know how much a "small loan" is? -WithEverythingIAm
  7. I only pay $70-80 15KG for my Nutro. Very reasonable price for a Super Premium dry! RRP for Nutro though is around the $95 mark? Also, You can get Ziwipeak in a 15KG bag? Boy it'd take QUITE a while to get through one of those wouldn't it? -WithEverythingIAm
  8. I've looked at the cans of that at work - the protein n fat content are quite low. It's also VERY SLOPPY as it's used to tube feed animals. You'd be better off feeding a puppy/working dog dry food, or just adding extra protein (meat) or fat to diet? -WithEverythingIAm
  9. Sprint Oil Link In case anyone's interested? -WithEverythingIAm
  10. LOL I was just going to suggest you look at that thread. Also the Puppy or Performance Nutro - or the Satin Balls on their either? My dog was VERY fussy with his dry food, and I had to actually stand there and entice him for every other dry food I've tried (including other "Super Premiums" like Eagle Pack!!!). Dunno what Nutro's "secret ingredient" is? But Rocky LOVES his bikkies, and I don't have to stand over him, or add sardines/egg etc to his food anymore - he just gobbles it up. -WithEverythingIAm
  11. A greyhound racing "addative" called "Sprint Oil" made by ranvet :D I think we buy 5L for around $40, but greys get around 2tbs/day, so not much would be required for a lil munchkin. You can also get it in 1L bottles. Smells delicious too - my Boxer who's quite the fusspot when it comes to food laps it up all by itself or when added to his Performance Nutro which he also loves by itself! -WithEverythingIAm
  12. Panda actually operates "Natural Pet Foods Australia" not natural pet store. 2 entirely different companies, but I do beleive heasapandabear sell's it cheaper :D -WithEverythingIAm
  13. Well if these owners all failed from the same judge, perhaps they can all write letters to their club who held the trial to say not to have that person come judge again. It is quite pedantic from what you've described, but you can't change the past unfortunately. -WithEverythingIAm
  14. Which TAFE course are you referring to Kitakins? the ACE (night classes) one, or Cert IV Companion Animal Services? -WithEverythingIAm night classes Well you get what you pay for. No wonder you don't recommend the TAFE courses. Perhaps you should give Cert IV CAS a go then? Here's a link to Box Hill TAFE's Cert IV Companion Animal Services (Pet Grooming) Of course most states would have their own local TAFE offering in capital city. -WithEverythingIAm

  16. There are some dubious people working for Australia Post - I remember that camera that went missing bought off ebay in OT? Perhaps that is where the problem lies? Also, perhaps this is a family run business on the side of a normal 40hr working job? Who knows? -WithEverythingIAm
  17. I have not had any problems getting any samples or Nutro or Ziwipeak food from the supplier on here who advertises on DOL! I personally have bought Large Bags of Performance, Light Adult dog foods, and have a bag of Kitten bikkies waiting for me to get off my lazy @$$ and go pick up! :D My sister has also used the same company to get some Large Breed Puppy biks, and she's up in Townsville! Vilsen have you already paid for your bag of food? I did not know that they had online buying? News to me. I've also found the company very professional, so I'm sorry to say but find it hard to believe that they would tell you to stop all e-mail communication? -WithEverythingIAm
  18. Step 1: Cortisone Injection for Flea Allergy for your bitch Step 2: Pest Controller Step 3: Flea Shampoo & Rinse dogs Step 4: Apply Sentinel + Advantage + Permoxin for dogs - you can never be too careful Step 5: Less Baths & Swims - you'll just be washing anything you've applied off! Step 6: Capstar after you've taken your dog away from house, before you bring them home, Capstar them. -WithEverythingIAm
  19. We feed both our dogs Nutro. Our Boxer is a VERY fussy bugger, and usually hates bikkies, and won't willingly eat them. You have to stand there and encorage him to eat it, or add egg & sardines or he won't touch it. That includes Super Premium like Eagle Pack, and Premium like Eukanuba, Royal Canin & Hills. He just wolfs down his Nutro - nothing needs to be added and don't need to watch & encourage him to eat it. Our Lab will eat anything, but is on Nutro Light as we don't have to feed as much to her each day, and cheaper to feed than Hills w/d which she supposed to be on after her diet on r/d. We also will start feeding our kittens on Nutro once old enough to wean. -WithEverythingIAm
  20. Tunnels are really vacuum's - didn't you know? -WithEverythingIAm
  21. Fleas lay their eggs & breed in sand!!! So that is where they're breeding and they're living there except when they're hungry when they'll just onto the next moving object that comes their way for a feed - hopefully not you! This is why you need to turn your pets into a "walking flea killing machine". It is also correct that Sentinel won't kill fleas just render them infertile. If you wanted to kill the fleas ASAP, there's a tablet called Capstar made by same people as Sentinel Spectrum, which will kill all fleas on a dog in a 24 hour period. Most our clients by a 6 pack, and give their dogs a tablet every 2-3 days until finished. They're also helpful if you ever take dogs to dog parks - give dog tab before you get in the car for ride home, and won't be bringing fleas back with you. Usually helps eradicate most of the fleas present, but also a good topical product like Advantage will do the same. Advantage kills fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, and forms crystals which will fall off in the dogs environment and kill the fleas in the surrounds also. But to be effective you have to treat every pet in the household, and also won't be as effective if you have roaming cats coming into your yard. Hope this helps! -WithEverythingIAm
  22. Um, yes. BUT CCD dogs are competing against their own set of exercises, and so are the other classes. Whichever dog performs better on the day for their own exercises should be the "winner" of Highest in Trial. -WithEverythingIAm PS - It's only HARDER to get 190 in Open than 95 in CCD, because of the fact the exercises are more difficult in Open. So of course it will be harder. It's just common sense really? -WithEverythingIAm

  24. So if they're just doubling the CCD score to get "equal" to out of 200 like the rest, then why wouldn't the CCD dogs be in the running? if a CCD dog got 95/100 and another dog got 190/200, it is actually the same score, and you'd need a countback to see who the "winner" was by looking in the rulebook and finding which exercises are more important for each class, and looking at the scores in order. whoever gets the better score first is the highest in trial. -WithEverythingIAm
  25. $250 is about average for a clean & scale dental procedure. Anywhere up to $400 for teeth removals, depending how long it takes the Vet to extract them. Ask the Vet for a quote, and find out what it covers? If it includes pain releif meds, and antibiotics, then I'd pay that much for it. The Dental food is Hills t/d or Royal Canin s/o I do beleive? -WithEverythingIAm
