I was so surprised by my 12 week old Pug (Wuggles),the first time we had a tiny tennis ball for him, threw it,and he bought it straight back,he didnt want to give it up,but now with a bit og coaxing(we say "tar for dad")he puts it in our hands.as i said,it was such a pleasent surprise.

A sports sock ,Did you have to wash it again ? That does sound a bit dangerous, ill see what he does with the sock by itself first, but knowing my Puggy,he will chew it to bits.

If you do not want to be getting up at 4.50am for the next 10 years then I would be ignoring him at that time and settling him into your routine or otherwise popping said puglett in its crate with a kong or something like that and going back to bed. Thanks Danois,i have been waiting longer and longer to give him his breakfast,so hopefully he will get used to sleeping in a bit more as time goes on. The kong is a good idea too,i may be a ble to catch another hours sleep.thanks.

There is no way he can take it off. I've watched him play with this toy for ages before I will leave him alone with it. he is more interested in biting the sock part where the biscuits are. Hi charleswentworth, could i use a normal sock with some yummy stuff in it and knot the end, would that have the same interest for him,or too easy to rip open and pig out?
-
Thanks persephone, that sounds yummy. And always thought Pugs would eat anything,i know douggy did,but he would not touch lettuce.Lets hope Wuggles does not turn into a problem child fussy eater.

Hi Puggy Puggy,Even with puppy biscuits,or mince he should be supervised?
-
Did you freeze the cornflakes and honey in the Kong?
-
Thanks tivins,i guess i will just try all the suggestions until i find one he likes, not looking forward to the sardines breath though
-
Thanks,my pup isnt really interested in the kong either, unless the cheese is falling out of it,and he does not like ice,as he wont drink water with ice in it,but i will try freezing a bit of fruit in it and see how it goes.I will try the frozen mince in the kong too.

Yeh,thanks guys,it didnt feel right to me to leave him alone with a chicken wing.I have been stuffing his Kong with cheddar cheese, that keeps him happy for about 30 secs,he does like his pig ears though. Should i freeze the kong with cheese in it,or is there something better to put in it,he doesnt like peanut butter ? I am also going to start him on Pet Mince, the ground up chicken necks, will he be ok unsupervised with this meal ?

Hi all,Just looking for some advise on a 12 week old pug puppy. We are slowly getting him used to being by himself for short periods of time,in order to get him used to it.I was told by the breeder to give him a raw chicken wing to chew on when we are not there. Can i leave him safely chewing a raw chicken wing unsupervised, can this be a mistake to give him one while not watching him,or will he be ok and occupied and safe by himself with a raw chicken wing ? Thanks

Ik now what you mean,we have a 12 week old puglett, what a handfull,so tiring,i am exhausted by 7pm everyday. He gets up at 4:50am on the dot for breakfast, even on weekends, but the good thing is that when we tire him out and go to bed,he cries for all of 2 minutes, realises we are not coming out to him and sleep until 4:50am,right through. Good luck to you,i hope it gets better for us from here onwards.

I have always felt that it is more do to with the Pug not reading the other dogs as well. I find that Pugs are very open to being attacked or told off by other dogs because they do not acknowledge the body language and behaviour of other dogs. I know what you mean,i used to take Doug on the Walk for Paws,he would jump up at dogs that were bigger than me,he just did not care, straight into their face, most of the big dogs ran away from him,or the owner would pull thier dogs away.About the sneezing,Doug used to sneaze or i called it blowing snot, when he did not get his own way,or when you had a bit of food, and he wanted some,if you did not give him any,he would snot on it,not that i minded, its only Pug snot. And yes,Pugs do snore.I also found, what made the snoring worse, was if i sat on the couch, doug would climb up the couch, lay across my shoulders and neck, and snore his head off.
