  1. Congratulations, Elkie 1! Sooo exciting, she looks lovely. The time will fly and soon she'll be home. Looking forward to meeting her.
  2. Wolfhounds use mental telepathy - they stare at what they want until you do it for them. Seldom make a sound but OH says they are the loudest starers he's ever known. If that fails, they wait until a cup of coffee is almost to your lips then head-butt your elbow. This is also very effective and silent.
  3. Grey - white throated tree creeper Grey.brown - joey on dry ground
  4. I don't supervise adult dogs as such, but always supervise puppies and older dogs - regardless of size. It's too easy for a pup to annoy the living hell out of an older dog and get into trouble. We have always had giant & small together. It works well for us.
  5. Bleeding nails are something the dog gets over much quicker than you do (forgive the poor pun) :D
  6. My pet peeve is the threadbare line I hear when I'm walking my wolfhounds (loose lead) and some Einstein will ask "Who's walking who?" generally followed by the incredibly witty remark, "Bloody hell, you could ride them." I swear one day I'll snot the next jerk that says it. My usual answer for the next question these dickwads ask ie "What does it eat?' is "an idiot a day but don't panic - he's already eaten."
  7. I'm having a bit of a chuckle to myself. I'm one of the "never" for jeans, not even sure why anymore. I just know when I started it was really frowned upon ( dinosaurs roaming the earth era) The joke is, my jeans generally cost up to 4 times what my supposed "dress slacks" cost. And they fit better. I've just come home from training and again I wore jeans tonight. So much more comfortable and I didn't spend all night hitching the bloody things up. I may have to change my mind - and vote.
  8. D is for "down the hatch" - goanna eating a possum it caught
  9. C is for couple ( friends on their wedding day)
  10. We could do snaps in the park - easy for both of us or you could come here if you like.
  11. Of course you can come! I'll bring some red & white and there should be enough of us to share it around. We can raise a glass to Irish Lassy who is to blame for bringing me back into the ring.
  12. Humphrey and I have just come home from training and I can't wait for the weekend. He has been doing really well with help from Lenora & Trish. Now that I've opened my mouth, he'll probably be a real pooh. I swear this boy will me to
  13. Now I'm hurt, sniff. Are you scared they'll be as bad as Humphrey's?
  14. If you don't get any takers, Daisy, I'd be happy to take some next week.
  15. I think you have it pretty summed up there. The newbie now has another so will not be pupless The returning puppy already might have a pet home maybe arranged on the horizon, heres hoping. Gee, I hope this one comes up to scratch. They must be feeling like "Rent-a-dog" I feel like a bit of a cow, though. Something tripping my whiskers and I'm not sure what.
  16. The main thing I was after in these was colour. I have been watching the challenges and meaning to post and it's only taken 6 months!!!
  17. If I take the lappy and post results I will have crossed the line from enthusiast to tragic. Might still do it of course. It's a very fine line, SSM.
  18. Yahoo! Don't have to worry about ballsing it up.
  19. I am both days. I haven't tripped over for weeks or had Humphrey refuse to stack so I'm overdue for a little character building. I'll try to put up hound results and try not to balls it up.
  20. Breeding for the betterment of the breed is in all CoE. Or at least, maintaining the standards they already have in their dogs. I don't see that breeding for a companion animal market should exclude aiming for better dogs. A responsible breeder should do both. JMHO
