Sail away: the Subaru xv is exactly the same (except slightly taller) as the impreza and the impreza has a bigger boot because it doesn't have a full replacement tyre like the xv does. So if the xv suits you in other ways maybe look at the impreza? I looked at the x-trail but I didn't love the way it handled or the feul economy compared with the subi's. The size however was just right!

Desolve should do it. Mind you when my maxy rolls in duck poop that stuff sticks like cement! Was it a nice dark green? Max aims so when he rolls he gets it all over his head and ears...angel that he is!

I love my subi :) I've only got a mini schnauzer but I often have a family member's two border collies as well and they all fit. When I've got all three I put the two borders in the boot and the schnauzer in the back seat but that's because one of the border's is quite dominant and needs to be watches around other dogs. I have a friend who fits her two Aussies in the back of hers very happily :)

All the Aussies I've known (all female, as it happens) have not been keen on bitey face, nor that interested in chasey. All have been a little stand offish with dogs they don't know and haven't taken any poop from adult dogs. Not that they were aggressive just didn't suffer fools but adored dogs they knew relatively well. I'd say a gundog might be a fabulous addition and playmate - but as a terrier person myself I'd go for an Airedale! The females aren't too big and every one I've met has been a very bouncy playful dog that has played well with a variety of breeds and play styles.

I have an old waterproof horse riding jacking, a baseball cap (to keep the rain off my face), yoga pants and short (ankle high) gumboots that have a cotton ribbed bit to keep my feet dry. If it's super freezing the scarf and a puffer vest under the jacket ;) Love walking the dog in the rain, I find it even more refreshing than other times - somehow easier to let my mind wander and daydream :)

I emailed change.org about this when it popped up in my email. I said she had broken the law and it was reprehensible that they encouraged someone to repeat and normalise a behaviour which is in law for the animals best interests. The woman is an idiot and her dog paid for it with his life.

Reminds me of the incident of rat poison and shrapnel laced feed at Melbourne royal (in the horses) quite a few years ago. I get competition can make ppl nasty, but taking it out on the animals when you're there for the love of the animals in the first place is incomprehensible to me.

I think there was a British actor who had a goodish one, dogs with Martin someone perhaps? He did a horse one too... They were a series teacher than one-offs I think. Dogs decoded is alright Edit: it might be Martin Clunes? He's a British actor, right?

I literally said to my dad yesterday when we saw a grey old black kelpie x walking down the street towards us, 'what a beautiful old dog, he must really appreciate still being taken out for a gentle meander' and the gentleman walking him ( who hears as we were about to pass him) smiled at us. But he did look like a dear sweet old man who was enjoying his slow walk in the sunshine :) Stuff what people think, you know he enjoys it and he's ok

DDD rebanne isn't talking about her breed being abused on a small little forum in cyberspace, she's talking about ppl getting verbal abuse in the real world so your comparison of owning small toy breeds is moot. I'd be scared of walking a greyhound around atm, surely the mere fact people generally haven't enquired about adoptable greys since the program aired demonstrates the public's current distaste? In any case I was in Fitzroy North today and witnessed someone being berated for allowing his killer dog off lead in a park. As it was a greyhound it shouldn't have been off lead anyway but it was perfectly calm and well behaved, something I pointed out to the dogless hipster who said the horrible things. I think greyhound racing shouldn't be legal in Australia, as it isn't in many parts of the world.

I take creon, creon 30,000. Under the pbs it's only $35 for 2x 100 tablet bottles. I can't live without it and I get no side effects whatsoever :) not that it's relevant to Sarah, but I thought I'd add it in cos I usually suffer side effects from medication cos my system is so fragile Hopefully they help Sarah, poor little chicken. It sucks when your tummy aches

Saultz are provably my favourite kennel - I've met quite a few and they're all lovely examples with stable temperaments. My next one will be a Saultz pup

I know, he's lovely - I have schnauzers so he really is my kind of dog! Unfortunately I live in an apartment and have too many animals already. The skin issues will be fine with management and then a regular flea routine, it seems more of a neglect cause than anything - allowing fleas to run rampant and cause secondary problems. I don't think he's an urgent rescue, but with the Ldh you never know...

Hi all, I'm not a rescuer but came across this little dog in my travels. An acquaintance went in, met him and did a meet and greet with her toddler and dog. Her little female dog is quite nervous and didn't warm to him, though he was fine with her, happy to give her space etc. He also seemed very good with her toddler. He's not old at 5-6 yrs. Small and a cute scruffer so surely he's pretty adoptable? The reason I'm posting him in here is because he has a few skin issues that would be cleared or managed with proper care and the fear of him being at the lost dogs home in Melbourne. http://dogshome.com/dog-adoption/adoptable-dog/?petID=922306 He seems like a great candidate for a smaller rescue group - as in he seems like the kind of dog many potential adoptees would have be requesting. Anyhoo, was just hoping for a good result for this little guy as he is my type of dog but I'm full up atm!

In my experience with them, animal welfare isn't really what they're interested in. It's animal rights and those things aren't the same. In this context, having concerns about the welfare of the dogs compared to being opposed to making a dog run around a track because it's "cruel". If you have sensible points to make regarding welfare, I'm certainly not going to call you a nutter. Animal welfare is an area I feel very strongly about. Animals rights, on the other hand.. no. I believe that animal "rights" have the potential to compromise animal welfare because one is based on science and the other is based on too many Disney movies. I think you are both trying to make the same point here: that animal 'rights' groups like peta are dangerous and bullocks and that their influence in animal welfare is extremely negative. The difference in what you are both saying is that megan is saying that if you are interested in animal welfare only, the negative experiences of animal rights group have tarnished the reputation of those only concerned with welfare. Sorry, just felt there was a little talking last each other when you're actually in heated agreement - those that fervently believe in animal rights are ruining animal welfare for both people and animals. Whilst overbreeding is an issue, part of me is at least impressed that some of the overflow is 'usefully' used - even if it ends in euthanasia. The thoroughbred racing industry doesn't even have that...

I'm pretty sure you said you were not spending any more monies for a while stressmagnet?! I'd also try leather workers like Wagner's - they specialise in horse showing gear but they made me a beautiful rolled leather collar that's beautiful and they would have some lovely bling options

Even oso?! Especially! I love squeezing and cleaning out sebaceous cysts, blackheads, pretty much anything. So darn satisfying!

I'm assuming save a dog has been told and are helping? I really hope she is caught soon the poor darling, she must be terrified and Wednesday is set to be hot again.
