  1. That was exactly the link I was looking for! The link was posted in the old thread as well but I can't seem to find it now. Thanks heaps.
  2. There was a thread quite some time back regarding how to analyze the ingredients on the back of a kibble bag and what to watch out for/avoid etc. I can't seem to find it, does anyone by chance bookmarked that thread? If not I hope you good DOLers out there could provide me with what you all look for when you look at the ingredients list of a dog kibble bag. Thanks heaps in advance.
  3. If you do decide to tough it out and ignore the barking I guess you could try talking to the neighbours and tell them it's only temporary and you're working on it. You could bring your puppy over as well and it'll work even better if they fall in love with him.
  4. chuck that idea. At 12 weeks she sounds like she has no bite inhibition and she's getting away with murder now she's settled in. If she goes for you grab her by the scruff and hold her until she stops. Say nothing, just hold her there until she realises it is NOT acceptable to do what she did then walk off on her. No matter what manner of banshee screaming comes out of that dog you're not hurting her, she's throwing a toddler tantrum. Seeing you have children I'm sure you've seen the award winning performances thrown by children for mild discipline. Dogs do the same. This worked a treat for me.
  5. I've read this before but can't remember why its recommended? I think it's because the digestion rates for raw and kibbles are different.
  6. Sory, can't help much with rehoming but he's such an adorable boy!
  7. When I got Bailey, I put a collar on him straightaway. He pawed at it for a couple of hours, obviously not happy having a collar on him. Now it does not even bother him 1 bit. He sometimes does not wear his collar at home nowadays as well. :D
  8. I'm pretty sure I was one of those who was bidding on the same thing up till the last minute! Is the item located in Brisbane?

  10. I pay $45 for a day at the daycare that I use. I don't think food is included there. He normally gets fed brekky before he goes off and dinner after he comes back. As far as I know, he just plays and goes for a nap when he's tired. And after he recharges his batteries, he's off for round2. He always comes back all tired out and sleeps through the night and is pretty much relaxed the next day as well.
  11. We do send Bailey to Daycare once a week. Mainly so he could play and socialize with other dogs as we don't know many friends with dogs. The daycare we go to is great. They keep us updated on what's going on with Bailey. And yes, dogs are given a temperament assessment during their 1st time and are divided into play groups based on their temperaments.
  12. Now that you mentioned it, I just realized there's an Off Topic thread! Lol! Never realized it even though I've been on 150 posts for quite a while now.
  13. By any chance, Would you mean 4 Legs? I use that for my puppy too and he loves it. Besides that I use Nature's Gift Beef and Liver as well. I've seen that - it looks interesting as an occasional treat to jazz up Sophie's kibble - i might get her some for an occasional addition. 4Legs works best as Bailey's training treats. He would do absolutely anything for it. It can get a bit messy at times though so we don't use it all the time, but we use it as a 'high value treat'.

  15. Hi, I have a friend's friend, who is living overseas. Her puppy is currently staying at the vets on drips on a suspected case of Parvo. My question is, what does she need to take precaution on in regards to cleaning the house etc? And she has another dog which stay's with her mum. Should she avoid the other dog? Should the dog get a checkup with the vet? Thank you.
  16. It works for us. Bailey's been using in since day 1 we got him without any hassle. He never made any attempt to chew on it so I guess it depends on individuals. In terms of cleaning. What I do is buy some extra fake turf from bunnings and punch holes in them. I rotate the turfs on a weekly basis. I bring the used turfs to a 'self clean' car wash and spray it down with a high pressure pump, cost about $1 for 90 seconds. Works a treat. I also but some cat substrate in the part where the pee ends up to reduce the smell. Hope this helps.

  19. Thanks for the suggestions so far. I'll definitely keep the quality in mind as well as the price. Has anyone bought from this website? http://www.crazysales.com.au/large-sized-p...7-6-_p5351.html
