  1. There was a point where I did feel like giving up when I just got Bailey. I'm glad I never did though. He had a really sensitive tummy when we got him and for the 1st week I got him, he was practically having diarrhoea in his crate in the middle of the night every night. Had to be on plain boiled chicken and rice for a while before we slowly introduced other food to him again. It took us a while to get there in terms of toilet training. Everytime we thought we were getting there, he would make a mistake. He was quite a nuisance on as well. Pulling/biting on his leash, biting/mouthing us etc. It was my 1st dog and after all the reading I did online etc, I thought I was well prepared, but I was obviously wrong! I got some wonderful advice here on DOL and it is through here as well I enlisted the help of a wonderful dog trainer that helped me through.
  2. Bailey is no where near the cuddly type as well. He loves to follow people around the house, that's pretty much it. He'll come to us if he wants a cuddle or a scratch, if not he prefers if you do not cuddle him too much. He has a choice to sleep on the bed with me, but he pretty much prefer sleeping anywhere else except on the bed with me.
  3. :D Wanna trade?? :D Love the look of the xolos. Some days yes, but they are really not a good trade, they were never let into a house till I got them and really they are so primitive, they do not know the diff from indoors to outdoors, they assume everything is a tree to pee on.lol I know I used to use rubber gloves to remove the dog hair from the car seats when I had Labradors, they worked great, maybe a rubber type broom ?? Yeah, I plan to get 1 of those rubber brooms and probably a Bissell Pet Eraser carpet cleaner as well. Awesome website btw. Love Taha and Besitos. I have not seen a xolo in the flesh before though.
  4. Wanna trade?? Love the look of the xolos.
  5. Anyone used this before? http://www.godfreys.com.au/vacuum_cleaner_...=193&page=3 The Bissell Pet hair Eraser is what I'm leaning towards at the moment as Dyson and Wertheim seems out of budget at the moment. http://www.harveynorman.com.au/product/125...pet-hair-eraser
  6. Thanks Teebs. It does look wonderful.
  7. Can anyone post a picture of the bowl to satisfy my curiousity?
  8. I have a Wertheim but no power head.... is that a head with rollers? The last cleaner I had with a head like that, the hair just got all twisted up around the rollers Anyway for carpets, you can buy a special broom which does a marvellous job of picking up all the hair before you vacuum. There was a thread about it .... and everyone went out and got themselves one ...... all of a sudden they were in short supply I can't recall what they are called though. Hopefully some1 will come along telling us what it is.
  9. Does the professional carpet cleaners offer any services that specializes in getting rid of pet fur?
  10. As above. I know the obvious answer would probably be to have tiled floors and no carpet. But I was wondering for those of you with carpets out there, how do you get rid of loose fur out of the carpet as the normal vacuums don't seem to be pretty effective.
  11. I think this is it. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=192200
  12. Probably more dangerous - frozen bone will splinter and can cause oesophageal and stomach perforation. I would never give a dog frozen bones. Wire is the dog a labrador? So it's not good to give my dog his chicken frames frozen? Just wondering because that's what I normally do.
  13. Bailey loves it as training treats as well. He goes through 1 approximately in a week. He loves them. He doesn't get them for main meals though.
  14. I know dog fur sticking all over where you don't want them to is part of owning a dog. I was just wondering, is there any supplements or food that help reduce the shedding? Or to keep the coat healthy?
  15. Thanks for the advice Mim! I'm coming to terms as well on the impossible to get to a point where few hairs come off part. lol. I believe Bailey is well on his way to be an Olympic class shedder! :D :D
  16. I've recently bought a furminator off Ebay and it arrived today. I tried it on Bailey and after a full 30-40 minutes of furminating him, there is still lots of fur coming out. Does anyone has an idea when do I stop? Should I be furminating him till there is not much fur coming out?
  17. Is it okay just to feed sardines/mackerels bought from the market raw? Will they choke on the bone or anything?
