Bailey stays in the crate indoors if we're out not longer than 3 hours. Longer than that and he has the run of the house downstairs and the front yard through a doggy door. He can't see outside the fence and nor can outsider see the yard, so that actually helps in regards to theft as they actually can't see what breed is he. We choose to keep Bailey in a crate indoors if we're out for no longer than 3 hours as we're worried he might bark and disturb the neighbours. We check with our neighbours regularly and they say he does not bark much but since we're on a rental property, we figured we might as well be extra careful. Plus, Bailey enjoys his crate.

Pretty sure I saw some at Target before too.

I use 4 Legs as training treats. Bailey loves them. Price wise they're pretty decent in my opinion as you can tear it up into smaller pieces before freezing them. Can be easily bought from Coles and Woolsworth.

Something weird happen tonight that has not happened before. Gave Bailey a bath in the bathroom's bathtub as I usually do. As soon as I carried him out I put him down, he peed, a lot. So I put him back in the bathtub, mop up the mess and again take him out of the bathtub. Dry him with the hairdryer. As soon as I turned it off, again he peed on the same spot, again quite a lot. He has never peed during or after a bath before. Does anyone have an idea why this could have happened? Some info that might help. -He peed quite a lot in the garden around 30 minutes before I gave him his shower. -He is housetrained, has not made a mistake indoors for a year or so. -He has not made a mistake in this house since we moved in last June. -He's 1.5 years old. -His pee colour seem slightly off. It looked more dilute, not as yellowish as usual. ;) I'm at a loss to explain what just happened. I can't think of anything different I did be it his food, treats, general daily schedule or anything. The only thing was I was using a new different shampoo I bought. But I don't think that could be it?

What are the requirements for a dog to do herding? I have a 1.5 year old corgi. He has probably never seen any other animals besides dogs, the odd cats here and there and of course birds. Would it be too late for him? Obedience wise, is there a certain level they have to be at to start herding? For example, a fool proof recall?

My dog is slightly over 1.5 years old and have not had a dew claw related injury.

That was about the same thing I did. Currently renting a townhouse. It wasn't advertised as pet friendly but we just asked anyway as it was in a location we really wanted. We included all vacc certs, registration papers and training certs. Included references from trainers, vets we used and our old neighbours.

I Almost Killed My Dog By Giving Him Fish Oil Tablets :(
luffy4688 replied to Megan2010's topic in General Dog Discussion
Any large pet supply warehouse will sell powdered vitamin E for dogs. The dosage is usually for greyhounds as most racing greyhounds are on it regularly. Just divide the greyhound dose for a smaller dog. I used to use the Troy brand, but cannot get it any more. White E is very expensive but there is now a new one out from Value Plus that works out much cheaper. I have always supplemented all my dogs with Vitamin E and have been wondering lately if it also has something to do with the fact that I have never had any puppies with undescended testicles. This is a reasonably common problem in my breed and seems to happen in many lines, so I am wondering why none of my puppies and none of those sired by my stud dogs were ever affected. Maybe it is the lifelong Vit E supplements? Thanks for that. ;) -

Thanks for that luffy - I have to admit I have a lot of trouble with the search function in this forum so I appreciate you linking that for me :D You're most welcome. I do bookmark certain threads that might be useful for me in the future. That's one of them as Bailey seems to destroy any toys I get him as well. ;)

Bailey has a tattoo. It's not obvious. Back then when I had him desexed, I had to admit I had no idea they would tattoo him though. Sine then, I've always thought it was a compulsory thing, apparently not.

That's similar to what Bailey has. You can see it if you click on the picture.

There was a pretty informative thread about it recently. Here you go. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=198123
