Thanks so much for posting the link, such a great documentary... but we all already knew how clever our dogs are! I gave my dog a BIG hug after watching this, they truly are man's best friend.

Breed(s): Staffordshire Bull Terrier Age: 5 months Food: Artemis and RMB Cost: $1.80/day (Approx. $1 Artemis and 80c RMB.)
-
+1, pretty sure i paid $25 for the 15kg bin. Air tight and a handy scoop under the lid.
-
Ours is currently 14kg at 5 months old
-
He's not overweight is he? Could be putting extra pressure on the joints if he is. Another thumbs up for Artemis, we switched our 5 month old Stafford over to it about 3 weeks ago, and his dull coat is now shiny, the rough bit of hair on his tail has gone, and he's leaned out a little and looking great!

most butchers will be more than happy to cut them (easier when frozen) with their band saw if you spend a few dollars in their shop. no splinters are sharp edges
-
Hey Erny can you please tell me where you get yours from? I used to get ours from South Melbourne markets but she doesnt stock them any more Petbarn stock frozen roo tails, sheeps necks and some other difficult to find cuts of meat at reasonable prices with date stamps on them too... i pay $3 for a 1kg of roo tail.
-
I tried doing that and made a complete mess of the kitchen and my fingers nearly froze! My local butcher where i buy my other meat happily cuts them for me even though i didn't purchase the roo from him.
-
Our SBT pup has been getting roo tails from 12 weeks of age, he's now 5 months and up until now he strips all the meat off the bone and won't actually eat the bone. It might be a different story now that he has finished teething.

That's another indication that they have no idea and to run a mile. Not every puppy is deserving of being on the main register. Is there any formal criteria for a pup to earn its spot on a main register, or is it simply up to the breeder as to which box he/she chooses when filling out the registration paperwork? Going off my experience i'm guessing it's the later.

Wandering dew has a waxy skin so Round Up doesn't easily penetrate it... so firstly, run over the wandering dew with a lawn mower (with catcher) so that it cuts up the plant and exposes the inside of the plant, then immediately give it a good drenching with a heavy dose of round up. It will take about a week before the plant starts to die, then rake it all up. We had a similar problem with about 100m2 of it. I still walk around the yard most days and pick out any new growth i spot. I am 95% on top of the problem now, but it takes time.

Thanks Stormie... is Holistic Select the new brand name for EP Holistic, the packaging looks different? The link you provided points to an adult formula, but i found the following puppy formula, http://www.holisticselect.com/dog-dry-pupp...eding-guideline All the online stores still have the old packaging and i've read about the supply issues from time to time which has me leaning towards Artemis.
-
Ye we only feed half of what is recommended on the bags as he only gets dry in the morning and raw in the evenings.
-
Same here... our dog can smell an open peanut butter jar a mile away and goes bananas for it!! I've tied a few knots in an old piece of garden house about 1.5m long and he loves it.

I have a bag of Eagle Pack holistic **small breed** puppy. The amounts vary according to the age and weight of the pup. The table is quite complex can you give me a clue what info you're after and whether the small breed variety is of any use to you (before I start typing). best Di Current weight 13.5kg, 5 months old, with a adult target weight of approx 20kg which puts him in the medium breed.
-
Fair point, although there is very little difference in the numbers i've done so far for Artemis and Royal Canin... about 10g and 7c a day difference between the two.
-
Thanks a bunch Mim! Anyone have a bag of Eagle Pack puppy lying around?
-
yep, i understand all that, i feed my dog half of what the bag recommends anyway as he gets kibble in the mornings only and raw in the evening. I'm just after an approximate number of feeds per bag so i can do a straight comparison. I need a similar table to the one on the following Artemis site, http://www.artemispetfood.com.au/dog_10.htm

Can someone please post the feeding guides for 'Royal Canin Medium Breed Junior Puppy' and 'Eagle Pack Holistic Puppy' foods. I've searched the net and come up with nothing. I'm just doing a cost per feed comparison of super premium kibbles to see which i will try next. I've priced Artemis Fresh Mix Medium Breed Puppy at $1.27 per feed. Any other similarly priced kibbles you'd recommend other than RC, EP, and Artemis?

1. Crate train 2. Crate train 3. Plenty of love

Our stafford went downhill on Advance Puppy so we recently changed to Great Barko.. he absolutely loves it and the runny poos and itching have stopped
-
i tried the vege oil thinking it was the safest bet, and it worked!
-
Ye, i did the same with the first two spots, but because his coat is so short it looked odd, that's why i'm looking at alternatives.
-
The yoghurt goes on his kibble a couple of times a week, and the vegies, egg and sardines are all on separate days. His coat is nice and shiny, and no runny poos on other days.
