I second the reccomendation on getting your hands on to Dr Billinghurst or Lonsdale's books on the subject. They are a wealth of info and will be able to give you some facts on the diet itself.
-
Some food prices can be found here hope this helps in your choice.
-
Although I reccomend and use Nutro, my second choice is Eagle Pack.
-
So sorry to hear that you've had such a bad first experience Vilsen, I have PMed you. Also might be worth checking the mailing address you've given the company too ?
-
No food processing (pulverising) is fine provided you continue to blitz the veg down to pulp consistency
-
Anyone grating/chopping vegies are wasting their time, dogs are unable to breakdown cellulose (the cell wall of all plant cells), pulverising or juicing is the only ways to effectively damage the cell wall to allow your dogs to have access to the good stuff Cooking vegetable's greatly reduces their effectiveness also.
-
Any chance of going back to mince - it'll aid in the mixing and the dog can't sift though. Green leafy vegetables such as spinach or silverbeet should make up most of the vegetable matter.
-
They're two different foods - Uncle Alber's and Great Barko but both are made by the same company Lauke Mills (the flour company) Can't help with the ingredient list I'm afraid but maybe someone above might post it ... Shek ?
-
I seen some dogs on this, not too ad but seem to poo by the bucket load ? Could someone feeding the food be able to post the ingredient list up, I'd be interested in reading it

That's true WS but Euk is more widely available and known. I know many who have excellent results on Euk, but unfortunately my dogs won't eat it I've had excellent results on Nutro and the holistic Eagle Pack formula's.

Do You Think Eagle Brand Could Help

Remember to 'de-flea' the entire environment not just the dog if you have a flea problem. -
Boxer With Allergies - Vet Recommendation?
Hazz replied to Alana_Bax's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sorry to hear about your young boxer, the only way to know for sure what's ailing your dog (said this in a similar thread) is to ask your vet to take blood to be allergy tested. It's the only way for certain to know what the problem is, this way you are able to check against food, contact and air borne allergens, and be able to know how to combat your dog's allergy problems. -

I would reccomend going to your vet and asking for an allergy blood analysis, this way you'll know exactly what's causing the problem and the best way to combat it. -
lol Flames Daddy, being that the majority of prey would be ground feeding animals I would say it'd be more like vegetable soup ;)
-
Meat doesn't have to be minced, mincing only helps with mixing in other additives you may be adding
-
Many (if not most) of the reccomended feeding rates are very generous. To ascertain the pricing/quantities you 'may' be feeding of a particular food you will need to assess the current condition of the dogs, the condition you will be trying to achieve or maintain, the exercise/activity of the dog, any supplementary feeding you may be adding to the food and the current diet.

Adelaide to Perth is roughly $27.40 here

What Are The Best Bones To Feed Big Dogs
Hazz replied to Tibbiemax71's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
We give; chicken carcass/necks/wings, pork neck bones, ox-tails, roo-tails, lamb necks etc -
I use the monthly tablets (easy to put the sticker that is supplied up on the calendar on the next due date), I would not use the injection - if you do a search you'll find lots of info on the subject

"best" Brand Of Dog Food For Your Pet?
Hazz replied to happystarz's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
One type of diet/kibble will not suit all dogs. Our dogs all have differing diets, some are on completely BARF and others are on a mix of BARF and premium kibble. Kibbles we have found to be worth using are Eagle Pack, Royal Canin and we are seeing good results on the dogs who we have started feeding Nutro. -
I agree with Miranda, feed in moderation - small amounts at first with puppies. Definately no sweetened yoghurts.

Hi Georgie Boy, EP do have a 'light' (Adult Dog Reduced Fat) but not in the holistic variety.
-
I stock senior EP so I'm sure other places would, just might have to order it in. The holistic are 1cm in diameter
-
I reccomend the EP Holistic range also, the dogs seem to do extremely well on it. They especially like the fish flavour. I recently changed over two puppies from the EP Puppy to Nutro Large Puppy purely as these puppies in particular are quite fussy eaters (although one has decided they love the EP now a couple days before the Nutro arrived ) Will see how they go, palatability wise they enjoy every piece !. Though the older giants prefered their EP, go figure I did especially like the Nutro Performance also something to keep in mind when this fussy puppy grows up.

ours love it !
