I'll be there, and my sister (Phoenix on DOL) and her crazy beagle are coming too. I'm bringing Indi the 9month old GSD who looks like this : And I'm not sure who else yet. I could bring Tiger but she's not all that social and probably wont chase anything or I could bring Al the greyhound but he wouldn't be allowed to run. Indi is very friendly but sometimes gets a bit overwhelmed when she sees heaps of dogs, it usually only takes her a couple of minutes to get back to normal - then she goes bananas and runs around like a mad thing :p We can't wait!! I guess we bring our own food for the BBQ? -
Chili Rat Face is out - she's come into season today Fingers crossed Indi doesn't follow suit.
-
Sorry if I've missed it - but what does it cost for a go?
-
Why isnt the springer allowed to be used??? I don't get that either - I love my springer, its a fantastic invention!
-
I think that'll be Jyra! She hasn't been to lure coursing before, but when she was watching Lablover's labs doing some retrieving work, she was going off her nut!! Chili is a screamer She's never been to lure coursing either but she's a screamer all right. If I go to the car without her she screams, if I take one of the other dogs out first she screams and so on... Indi usually barks that high pitched excited bark. I've got a noisy lot!
-
Yeah, come along Rataholic1966 - I'd love to meet your dogs. My grey arrives on Friday, but I won't be bringing him to lure coursing, not enough room in the car for them all. I just had a play around with Indi and a couple of bags on a lead, as I suspected she went mental and loved it. She ended up destroying both bags because I couldn't move them quick enough. She got the last little scrap off and wouldn't go back in her pen! I'll have a go with rat face when I get my breath back!

Ok chezzyr, you can take photos of my girls too
-
You're welcome to practice on my girls You take great photos! I'm going to run around outside with a plastic bag now to see if they'll chase.
-
I'm thinking about coming along too with Chili and Indi. Is it a problem if your dog doesnt have a very good recall?
-
Thats Zac. He's from the same Mum as my puppies were. I've been boarding him for 7 months, hoping his owner would stay in Italy rather than come back for him - but sadly he has and Zac is going home soon. He's a lovely big dopey boy and he'll be missed here too Zac with Chili With little sister

My Zac had his ears taped for awhile, his breeders used the cardboard toilet paper rolls and taped it inside his ears and then I think his ears together at the top? His ears are great now and I don't remember him worrying about it. Indi has a slightly soft ear on one side, can only notice when she runs - I think its cute.

Two years ago today my beautiful Bayliss left for the bridge. He was the cutest baby As a leggy teenager With Monster Easter '03 His favourite spot amongst the fruit trees where he could watch the sheep, this is where he now lies. Bayliss taught me that love really is a German Shepherd dog, just like the stickers say. He taught me that sometimes life is about quality not quantity, he was only 2 1/2 when he died but he lived hard. He taught me that once you've had a german shepherd dog by your side, you can't be without one and when he died he sent a little piece of himself down into his neice Chili rat face who reminds me daily of Bayliss's love and gentle nature. Whether it was riding around the paddocks at the farm on the motorbike, sleeping on my bed at gran and grandpas, being bandaged all over by all my class mates at tafe, being a star at german shepherd club or just running around the backyard, his happy nature and classic looks as well as that ability to sense my moods made him the most special dog in the world to me and I miss him everyday. Your special friend Monster has now joined you Bayliss, I know you'll be happy playing with her. Watch that slippery wet grass when you're running around ( he often lost his front legs when running and would proceed to slide on the side of his face with his back legs still going like crazy, whenever I see a dog do this now, they're "doing a Bayliss!") Look after all the other GSDs who are missed here and know that we still love you.

Very sorry for your loss Play free of pain Maggie

I usually do 4 at a time and put them in an icecream container in the freezer, not much comes out though.

I recently discovered that my kids, especially the baby puppy, find carrots very entertaining! They throw them around and play with them, and eventually chew them up! Cheap too! I use soaked dry dog food in my kongs - if you let it expand a bit in water straight from the kettle, add something yummy like a little bit of cheese or meat and then fill the kong up you can either freeze it, let the bikkies dry out again overnight to last longer or just give it to them as soon as its cool enough.

Hope you're keeping my Bayliss company up there Riley, tell him I said Hi and know that even though you guys are up there, we don't ever forget about you down here. :D for mum
-
Sorry for your loss, was she a GSD? She sounds like she was a wonderful ccompanion, and what a beautifully written story. Has that been published in a magazine or something - I think I've read that before? And the pic of the surfer pup in your avatar?
-
Very sorry for your loss, she seemed to play a big role in your life. Sleep well Princess Nub - no more sickness

I am of the opinion that some dew claws are attached to the bone, and some are not and just kind of floppy. I thought the floppy ones were taken off as they weren't held on by enough and the ones that are properly attached stayed on? My GSDs have front dew claws and had no probs (touch wood)
-
Mine came today  Thanks KitKat! I'm still in Wodonga though so I won't get to play with them for a few more days. Mum rang me and said "WHAT ARE YOU BUYING NOW FROM QUEENSLAND?????NOT MORE DOG STUFF IS IT???"
-
Its great news that Kiya is going well, fantastic news infact When my GSD Bailey was getting very badly bitten by flies, I tried heaps of different treatments to no avail. Eventually found relief with fly spray for horses, used a few that all worked well, so maybe drop into your local Horseland or something and see what you find. Good luck and I hope in three more months the news is still as good.
