  1. I got mine today and they're great quality - I wish I'd bought another!! If anyone sees them again for $46, please give us the heads up!
  2. Aww!! I didn't get mine today Maybe tomorrow!
  3. I have a pretty big pack and not all of them get along unfortunately, but I've got some nice photos of them in pairs This one of my 3 girls was taken by doler *Bella* a few weeks ago while we were away for a dog show Xilla, Termi and Vice (Termi and Vice are sisters) This one is Vice and her mum Checa Termi and cousin Ryker Chili and her son Monza (Ryker is also Chili's son)
  4. Thanks for the link SecretKei What a great price! I just bought one
  5. Happy Birthday Cowboy, looks like you had a lovely party
  6. No one here knows your dog, what he weighs, how active he is, what his current diet is etc - you will need to take all those things into account and trial the food to see what suits him
  7. You are making a big assumption about the owner of this dog. We know nothing about them or why the dog is pregnant. The person that started this thread has already told us what the pound allegedly told the finders, and I have questioned that. There was no mention of any attempt to work with council so that the dog could be legally transferred to new owners, just a request for somebody to take the dog. People buying dogs and pups have a right to buy animals without any risk that the legal owner could turn up and take them away. It is wrong to take and sell things that don't belong to you. Regardless of how caring you think you are. The assumption im making is based on observation. How can you argue that a RESPONSIBLE OWNER firstly not microchip their dog, and secondly allow to get pregnant at such a young age? I think those two points there are reason enough to assume that the owner is irresponsible. Perhaps the dog is microchipped, but the chip has moved and whoever scanned the dog was unable to find it - it happens. Also, what if the dog has been missing for months, and has become pregnant while lost? She had her first heat and jumped the fence, becoming pregnant to another stray. All sorts of scenarios are possible!!
  8. Those photos are just beautiful Ray was so lucky to have found you, I am so sorry for your loss
  9. I've got a falcon wagon, on gas, and its perfect for me. Shortly I'm having cages put in the back but currently it just has a cargo barrier and I can fit 3 GSDs in the back easily. Before the wagon, I had a Mitsubishi Mirage which I loved - it was a gem of a car. We took the back seats out and built dog cages in, so we could carry 2 GSDs around in the back. Unfortunately, I outgrew it with the doggy family and needing to tow a trailer, but its now my sisters car. If you were open to modifying the car and only needed to take one passenger, you could still have a little car with room for dogs
  10. We also went through this recently with our 15 year old Golden Retriever - took her to the emergency vet because we suspected a stroke. She was staggering, not eating, vomiting and very uncoordinated. Thankfully she seemed to only have quite a mild dose (despite seeming very unwell initially) and other than going off her food for about a week, was much better by the next day. She's now back to her normal old sleepy self I don't think there is any harm taking the dog to the vet when stroke-like symptoms occur though, you'd be kicking yourself if you waited a few days, thinking it was vestibular syndrome, and it wasn't
  11. My dog was walking with a limp, but still weight bearing after a dog fight - xrays revealed she had broken her leg so I don't think its always obvious
  12. I don't think she sounds small sized, sounds just right to me I had my 2x 15 month old bitches, who measured 59cm and 60cm at their last show a month ago, weighed this week and they were both 25kg. I expect they will put a bit more weight on as they bulk up as they mature.
  13. I've got 2 pembroke corgis and I'm in the Ballarat area
  14. Where as my adult male GSD is 28-32kgs - so there is HEAPS of variation between bloodlines and types. I've got a bitch who weighs 25kg and one who is 30+. The person who will be able to answer you the most accurately is the breeder of your pup, who will know what is typical for their bloodlines.
  15. Thats very interesting Stormie - thanks for posting
  16. I've got 2 youngish GSDs, both about the same size and very similar colouring. I don't have any trouble telling them apart during the day but once it starts getting dark its a different story!! :D I have on occasion, called them both over to see which one mouthes my hand because only one of them does it and then I know who's who!!
  17. Thanks so much for all the congrats - it was a lovely morning and I'm still smiling today
  18. Wow, congrats!! Was that in Geelong? I thought it was your Darcy in the catalogue today and was dissapointed to miss seeing you but now I understand why! My own little brag is that today at Geelong, Tiger got her 3rd and final pass for her Novice title with a score of 192, won the ring and got highest score in trial too, much to my complete and utter shock! I was so thrilled to title her with such a lovely finish - she's just turned 9 years old and we haven't trialled for a couple of years. I figured it would be sad to not go for her last pass so we dusted ourselves off for one last attempt! We pulled out of the afternoon trial - happy to finish on a high
  19. Hope its ok for me to join in - very much still learning A is for accessories B is for bark C is for chasey
  20. Oh sorry, I missed the part where you're flying too Buying a crate now that she couldn't fly in would be a silly option in that case! The dogs are allowed to have a blanket in the crate with them when they fly, so if she doesn't already have one on her bed, its a good idea to get one soon so it will smell familiar and be calming to her. Good luck with it all
  21. The couple of times I've flown GSD adults, I have hired crates through the airline - however they've been quite similar to the usual fold up crates I use at home. If I was in your position, I would buy a crate to use at home for training Brennan to get used to it, hire a crate for the flight and then if you no longer have a use for the crate you bought, sell it (people are always looking for them 2nd hand) You can occasionally find the vari-kennel style crates for sale on the DOL classifieds, whihc you could use for training and the flight, but for a GSD size they're $300+ 2nd hand (and thats if you can find one)
  22. Wow, thats awesome Looking forward to seeing the rest
  23. In the house, in crates mostly - one loose in the house but she usually sleeps in an open crate in my bedroom
  24. Mine had vetbed in the whelping box (previous litters have used carpet mats) and once they were walking well enough to get out of the box, I had rubber backed vet bed mats on the lino. The number of vet bed mats were reduced as they became more coordinated and the pups were eventually moved outside
