Sue & Waldo replied to Staff'n'Toller's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Classic! Glad you liked it! Just to prove Alvin can be good http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOefvPtAyvM...feature=related -
I did a stand and had some activities for children. I found sketched of dogs with labels "I feel...scared/angry etc to help them understand dogs body language. What about a colouring sheet or word search for them? You can use this http://www.armoredpenguin.com/wordsearch/ Print out some pictures of breeds and see if they can match them up. Can you get some freebies eg our council gives out dog poo bag holders. Hope it goes well!

How Did Your Pet Get Its Name?
Sue & Waldo replied to crazyboutdogz's topic in General Dog Discussion
Our kids named our previous dog (black & white cocker) Timmy after the dog in the Famous Five books. Years later they discovered the dog in the book was not a Cocker Spaniel. They were cross! -
I have a near neighbour who says only black dogs bark or bite so maybe you all have black dogs.

Sue & Waldo replied to Skruffy n Flea's topic in General Dog Discussion
I feed a tin or 2 a week in oil. Cindy LOVES them. So does my OH so our house often smells of sardines. -
Dog Door Doog belt Tug toy - can't remember the brand but it doesn't have stuffing, has a squeaker and is great for training rewards

Where Is A Dog Friendly Camping Spot In Vic?
Sue & Waldo replied to Dfa Dog's topic in General Dog Discussion
This place is great. One slight problem-it has the most wonderful gift shop on-site with the most wonderful stock of dog-related gifts you could wish for. -

:D I wasn't laughing but I am now. Long story but having thought she had understood retrieve she proved she hadn't!
-
With what I felt like calling Cindy this morning while training her it best not to use the name ever!
-
I am involved with helping a person to train an assistance dog and I am waiting to hear back from this group. I will post when I hear back.

Hahaha I got my left and right back to front with my descriptions... I plead sleep deprivation! LOL Oh dear! I plaited using the instructions so I am not sure what to plead! It would be easier if a certain 4 legged cutie did not try to tug while plaiting!
-
Don't apologise for this effort! It is easier to understand than the one I have in my craft book!
-
Well done. I have made these as well. As a variation for larger dogs you can put a knot in the middle before plaiting and then plait either side of the knot. It holds them together for a little longer. You can buy handles that are similar to bungee handles from shops that have water ski equipment however they are too expensive to make them economically. I have wondered about buying a cheap leather lead from a $2 shop and cutting off the clip part and plaiting it into the toy to create a handle however I have not got around to it!

I have used this company for other things and they were helpful. http://www.freshpromotions.com.au/badges/dog-tags.html

Someone ought to have warned me that going to dog obedience classes was a health hazard due to addiction issues. Now I am going to start trialling Cindy. I am unclear as to which forms I fill in. Do I join only?
