How Can I Speed Up Cindy's Drops
Sue & Waldo replied to Sue & Waldo's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Another newbie question-what is the 2 food game. I have not taught her to drop from a sit. If she is in a stand she sits then drops. Cindy is brilliant on the drop in a recall which leads me to another observation. She is only doing this on lead. She is great at change of position. I fine it frustrating because she does a stay with handler out of sight too. I appreciate the advice thus far. I will be seeing a brilliant trainer tomorrow so we will see... -
I did a CCD practice today. Cindy did a perfect recall, sit stay, drop stay and SFE. Here is her problem. Her heeling is good-good position etc. She is just slow to drop and will never pass. She sits and folds her legs under her body as she l---o---w---e---r---s herself to the ground. She will never pass like this! I have been luring her with food but it doesn't make any difference. Any clues?

What awesome photos. Thanks for posting them. I think I am going to go for this range-now to decide on model. Oh for an unlimited budget!

This is a pet friendly real estate search http://www.rentalrealestate.com.au/ which might help. She could advertise on Gumtree http://melbourne.gumtree.com.au/f-Unit-Hou...W0QQCatIdZ18294 What about putting up notices in local vets. It is worth getting pet specific references-ask a previous neighbour to write a letter stating that the dog didn't bark, etc. If you have certificates or letters stating that the dog has done obedience you could include this as part of any application. Trust this helps.

Where Will Your Next Dog Come From
Sue & Waldo replied to poodlefan's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would only get a pup from a registered breeder. DOL has greatly influenced me in this decision. No idea what breed but I'd love do get into obedience trialling seriously with my next pup. -
Any Universal Set Of Hand Signals For Obedience?
Sue & Waldo replied to DalGirl's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I've learned when I start training COP I should write the signals down on paper somewhere so I remember which is which. I keep arriving at the supermarket without my shopping list so I guess now I will arrive to buy a "stay" and train with margarine, bread... Old age is a wonderful adventure!!!! -

Wow...and I don't normally like this sort of stuff but this one is great. -
It is so exciting when this happens. Well done and keep up the good work. By the way if anyone finds a "drop" Cindy seems to have totally lost hers somewhere.

Any Universal Set Of Hand Signals For Obedience?

I have learnt the hard way that the signal you use is not important. What is important is that is is easy for you to use and clear to the dog. -

I am so very sorry. What a sad time for you all.

I am thinking of a compact. Up to $350 I guess. I'd rather spend a bit more and not put up with battery problems and poor pics.

I am wanting to buy a basic digital camera since my current one has decided not to work. I take photos mainly of the grandchildren and dogs at play. Any suggestions?

How very distressing for all concerned. I wish I could help but will be paying for you all.
