  1. Uh-oh! I am not going to get nervous
  2. I would start by going to a dog obedience club near you and having a look see. To have a taste do a youtube search for ccd trials. this is what I did BUT I OFFER THIS WARNING: such searches can lead to an addictive hobby. Good Luck-let's know how you go.
  3. Well now I have done it Entered Moorrabbin trial in both RallyO and CCD Not only I know I am not ready but I haven't posted a training dvd so I am in double trouble
  4. To return to the original topic I have a friend who is doing this course http://www.dogtraining.com.au What do others think?
  5. I received this dvd on Friday-it is so well done! Each station is explained with a video as well as the rules related to it and common errors. There are also footwork animations. Well worth the money. Congrats to all who have worked on this!
  6. I have just joined Berwick and so far I am very happy - the ground is muddy +++ but apart from that a good club. I am learning some great things about trialling and my handling. People have been very friendly and supportive.
  7. It is run by a group Friends of Manningham Dogs & Cats. We have club rooms in Donvale, Melbourne. More volunteers are welcome *hint*
  8. Some great ideas here-thanks for the words of encouragement and support too.
  9. We are starting a monthly get-together for dog owners, especially the elderly or disabled, to meet with their dogs. Volunteers will exercise their dogs. We are going to arrange for a vet to visit as well as help with grooming and bathing. We all know that pets are so important to us all and we are anxious to help the elderly keep their dogs. At the moment we have a building and volunteers. We don't have a name. We are referring to this as a "Get Together" and this is amazingly lame! I can say that because I came up with it. I sort of thought of "Companionship, Coffee & Canines" Any suggestions would be welcome.
  10. I am wondering if anyone knows of a good mobile dog groomer. I am involved in a group that is assisting elderly or disabled dog owners to care for their dogs. We are planning a get-together to assist in exercising the dogs and providing some specialised care. We would like a mobile groomer to come and bath about 10 dogs. Owners would pay a negiotated amount.
  11. Waldo has suddenly started as well.I'd never heard of it-he woke us up sneezing and i was up googling in a panic.

  17. Does anyone know of an Obedience Club that trains at a time other than Sunday mornings? I am happy with where I do train but it looks like that time will not be convienent in the future. I am in the eastern suburbs but am happy to drive. thanks. PM me if you prefer not to post here.
  18. You can buy reflective ribbon that cyclists use-you could try making a harness out of it. You are only using it for visibility and not strength so it should be pretty easy. You could use 2 "D" rings to fasten it. Portable, cheap and washable.
  19. This is a much better optionhttp://www.greatdanerescue.com.au/downloads.htm (Note to self-check then post )
