  1. I agree. the bond I have with Waldo is like that. Last week he did not want to work in the practise ring at all. I knew womething was not quite right. I had done all the same things but...I knew. Others just said nah you can't tell. After class he did this massive poo (I mean Great Dane size rather than mini-schnauzer) and he was ready to work! After class he was ready! I can just read him and his body language. What I find interesting (or frustrating) is his reaction to different exercises. He does not enjoy SFE but is willing to go theough the process. However he is totally passive about learning the dumbbell and is not eager to hold it. No idea why. I wonder if it is because I know him so well I approach this exercise with concern and he reads me. Thanks for the post. I agree-do something with your dog even if it is informal or not for competition.
  2. I am sorry that this happened-it is very upsetting. I have had a similar experience with my previous dog. The person had a psychiatric disability (I later found out). It is important to advise your local ranger that this happened so that they are aware that this situation may arise again. A different or person may react aggressively and background can help.
  3. They are excellent. they have been the trainers of the year 2 years in a row. I highly recommend them!

  5. Thanks everyone. It was just that on another place it said send in all original paperwork. It is now clear!
  6. I am re-thinking my entries and may only go to Morwell. I need 2 passes to get my Novice Rally title and since Waldo passed his CCD we have not quite got to CD standard yet. I think I will enter Rally Novice & CD at Morwell only.
  7. Do you have to send in your qualifying cards to Dogs Vic when applying for performance titles? The form says only if interstate but I read on the web page originals need to be provided. Also do you need to send in your pedigree papers?
  8. Hi Sue, I'm trying to sign up for the Rally O and jumping for this trial. Do you have a contact other than the PO Box for the obedience club? Cheers, Eileen No I don't. Do you have a problem? Can I help?
  9. Great work-I am so thrilled for you! I know that you put so much effort into Roxy & Violet. Well done!
  10. wow that is awesome. Now I am going to have to think about Cindy & Waldo's ribbons as well.
  11. they sure are. I am heading to the patchwork shop to see what I can find. Love the Ribbonmate holders aw well.
  12. Waldo and I visit a nursing home regularly and there is a new resident. She used to show Ragdoll cats and she has a number of Royal Show Ribbons in a drawer. She is not coping well in ajusting to life in a Nursing Home. She told me that she would love to be able to see her ribbons so I am wondering how I can display them for her. I did a quick google search but all I came up with were hangers and she would like to display them horizontally. The only idea I came up with was stitching them on a piece of material and hanging them. She is a real sweetie so I would love to do something for her. In the meantime she can have regular Waldo cuddles.
  13. Thanks. I was so thrilled with him. At the moment I am do I mild panic because I can't find my ribbons and pass card from his first trial. Thanks everyone-and I can relax as I found the pass card in the filing cabinet under "water" instead of "Waldo" and the ribbons very nicely folded in a plastic bag in my wardrobe. The family have made all the drink more water jokes so no need here!
  14. Well done! What a huge effort on everyone's part.
  15. Thanks. I was so thrilled with him. At the moment I am do I mild panic because I can't find my ribbons and pass card from his first trial.
  16. Well done Tassie! I have a brag. Just home from an afternoon and twilight trial at the gsdv and we won both ccd rings with scores of 95 & 98-earning us our ccd title!!!!! Wlado worked his butt off and I was so proud. In the down stay in the evening trial he ignored the 2 playing dogs - it was a long 2 minutes!
  17. Brilliant work-and Roxy did so well too. Conditions not the best either!

  21. Alice Springs Town Council believes burglars could be behind a spike in the number of dogs caught roaming the town's streets. Council figures show 89 dogs were impounded last month, compared with 38 in August 2011. The council's director of community services, Craig Catchlove, says one possible explanation is that people intending to rob houses are releasing the dogs. "It appears we actually have people letting dogs out of houses," he said. "People want to rob a house so they open the gate, let the dog out, then come back when the dog's gone to carry out their nefarious business." Alice Springs police say they are only aware of one recent case where a dog has disappeared as a result of a burglary. This was posted on ABC News online 21/9 Another reason for a locked gate!
  22. Wow so many brags-look what happens when you go away! awesome work everyone. (My only brag is that I managed to start the whipper snipper without a language problem)
