I have just started with Waldo. He is a mini schnauzer. It is not the articles I find difficult but that the box looks so far away. As far as teaching to pick up the metal articles I just rewarded Waldo for any interaction with the article. Put cheese on top, underneath partly inside, etc so he touched it to get it. Go for it! UD does my head in but I love it, great fun stuff to train.

How is he at holding metal? Pippa struggles to pick it up and when she finally does, her little teeth chatter while she holds it! We are very proud of you and Waldo getting your CDX and heading for UD! I can only hope we'll get there, too! I'm plugging away at UD with a certain blonde Labrador, so if she hasn't driven me absolutely bonkers by the time it is Pippa's turn, I may continue... Waldo doesn't mind the metal at all. He seems to have more trouble identifying the wood. If he can't find it he sits in the middle of the articles and returns via a jump, a perfect combination of scent discrimination and directed jumping! For Pippa it's just the actual picking up of the metal she just can't get her little mouth around. She identifies them ok, but can't wrap her little chops around the metal unless it is slightly raised off the ground. We really need the raised dumbbell types that the US uses! These two really need to meet up!

K9 company. Cat and Brent are great with dogs with issues. They train at Boronia Reserve on Monday nights. Highly recommend them.

Naww you're too kind They are going to take over the woooooorld!!!! :D How's Waldo going? Certainly is He is doing well! We are both trying to get our heads around UD. We are making progress and hope to enter towards the end of the year. Entered CDX at Easter to keep us both sharp! Not that he needs help to be sharp as he has some creative ideas in UD at times. Glad he didn't get involved in the rules review.

I have 2 plain sets and no UD dog........yet So can we be outbid Ness?

After losing Shandy tragically at the start of the year, Zim has started competition well, and we're making good progress on our wishlist, with RN down, one CCD pass, and two DWD Heelwork to Music passes. Little Miss Inari has joined us, and at 5 months, is showing plenty of promise. Aiming for her to be close to competition ready by the end of the year, maybe some rally under her belt if there are some late trials. Zim's RA is done, his Heelwork to Music Starters Title is done, and he has two Rally Excellent, two CCD, two DWD Freestyle Starters and one Strategic Pairs agility pass.I'm really pleased with the way he is working, and we'll have a few titles to finish next year. Inari will also start trialling next year, and I should finish my DWD judges training. Wow considering the year you have had that is a tremendous effort. Well done!

Not sure where you can get this done. Does Waldo prefer knurled metals? He sure does. He is very fussy

I have been given 2 sets of metal articles and would like to get them knurled. I am in Melbourne but may be able to post them interstate. Does anyone know who does this?

Wow! Great work. What a great example of a senior dog doing so well! I am in awe of people who train multiple dogs.

We have both CD and CDX but no RAE. I am very pleased with the way we have trained though!
