  1. Ditch the hot water bottle and buy a snuggle safe. Stays hot longer and is safer. Get some cheap large teddy bears to go into the kennel with Tusker that she can snuggle up with. Snugglesafe
  2. only thing I would do differently is feed the little guy 4 times a day for another couple of weeks. A meal could be as simple as a raw chicken wing.
  3. um no, toy breeds maybe but larger pups are more then ready to go to new homes at 8 weeks
  4. Is it possible that the "tired" one is just a quieter, calmer puppy in general? Lots of puppies do have innocent heart murmurs but I would be checking in with the breeder pronto on what they plan to do if this continues. And it sounds like it might
  5. Use an ordinary worming tablet to treat for worms. I wouldn't use heartworm meds until the pup is 6 months old. Heartworm is transmitted by mosquito's, the weather is not right for mosquito's at this time of year. You would need to ask your vet about ticks. No need to treat for ticks unless you are in a tick area. Same for flea's. Be careful of using all in one's, it's overkill in my opinion, way too many chemicals at one time, and often for things that do not need treating.
  6. The strips have sharp corners be careful inserting them. Umm no thanks
  7. I didn't stumble into showing. When I decided to show a dog I got a showbred greyhound on purpose having already had 2 greyhounds as pets.
  8. Last month's payment was taken out 12 days late

  10. you do know all dogs, wherever they come from, need good homes?
  11. I showed Greys for many years & did alot of winning ,the most underestimated dog in the show ring . You can show a greyhound, it's fun! My dogs do ok, winning wise, but it's more about the outing for us
  12. Whippets are very strong pretty much everywhere but Victoria in particular. Didn't stop me getting one because I really love the breed. :) Got told I could have picked an "easier breed". I didn't want an easier breed. I wanted a Whippet :) Exactly!
  13. and I think you are pretty rude too
  14. Exactly SG Whippets are very strong in my area, no idea about your area. But I'm with the others, show the breed you want to live with. Which is why I show my minority breed - Greyhounds. And if I did want a whippet to live with I wouldn't let the fact it would be very hard to win with it locally change my mind, I'd still get one.
  15. oh yes I remember that weekend, you went away Sat night and came back Sunday morning and had the breed standard printed out and had already joined a international Yahoo group if I recall rightly. You were hooked well and truly!
  16. Turmeric in diet link #1 This is one website I found which has so far been the most detailed. And one I can link to quickly. Down the right hand side are links to different areas and you'll find their article about Turmeric. I've been googling as well. Do you add anything to the turmeric to aid the bioavailability as most sites suggest?
  17. I'd like any references you can find about lipoma's and tumeric. Fern has a infiltrative lipoma near her spine. Would like to stop that in it's track's if possible.
  18. so 7 little tollers? Well done
  19. Airedaler, I will swear to my dying day that my osteosarcoma boy knew and approved what was about to happen to him. I believe you.
  20. My dogs are usually PTS at home. I let the others out once and they couldn't have cared less, in fact the youngest ran over the top of my dead girl! A couple of times, when it's been the boss dog, the others have seemed a little lost for a day or two but it was nothing major and all adjusted very quickly. Mostly they have acted as if nothing is different. Hugs to you but I wouldn't be taking the other dogs with you.
  21. My dogs alternate in and out with no protests. They are out while I am at work and as they can't read my roster they never know when it is going to happen! Besides the kennel I do have tramp beds under cover but to make it a bit more sheltered I made 3 sided, rooved enclosures around them out of particle board. Very easy and cheap to do. No fronts. Just screwed together with right angle thingy's with the holes in them already. Being open fronted and mine are quite tall your fellow may be happy with something like that.
  22. my last litter also used to split into colour groups
  23. Just had a litter of 7, 6 surviving, with a maiden bitch - greyhound
  24. sorry for your loss, but all the best with mum and pup Same from me, your little boy can play with mine over the bridge
