  1. I have to say I agree with ShesalikeableBiBear. Very slow to respond to emails or FB messages. And his quote was higher then JetPets. eta this was in August.
  2. I don't like it, the extended part to me is way too enclosed - tunnel vision. I've always used Bunning compost cages to make that part. Puppies can see so much more.
  3. I've just joined up my new pup with Woolies. No idea if they are any good on claims etc. Just wanted some basic cover for the silly years.
  4. I have used Bach Flowers with varied success. When it worked it was great, when it didn't - well it didn't. I am lucky to have a vet who is also qualified in Alternative remedies. However, I never found anything that really worked well with my nervous traveller. I find crating her in the car keeps us both calmer!
  5. Yes No No interesting how many want to see the Mum at least I have a litter at home, leased the Mum, whelped the pups, sent Mum and pups back when they were two weeks old, then bought pups back when they were 7 weeks old. I have no Mum to show buyers. Have Grandma and Uncle though. My foundation bitch I did see the Mum but she had ditched the puppies at quite a young age so was put back with the other adults and I only saw the pups, no interactions with other adults. Not every one raises pups the way I raise them. I have no problems buying a pup raised in a kennel. What's too many dogs?
  6. Dogs can be downgraded from main to limited. But the reasons why a dog might not make the grade in the show ring are many and varied and it's not an automatic failure in that you don't breed from them. It is something a breeder (ethical) would consider before deciding to breed that dog. I.E you are in a breed with strong competition, your dog has knocked a tooth out, that's enough to make it very hard to succeed in the ring, so you stop showing him. V's a dog who never had a tooth there in the first place and maybe should not be bred cause correct dentition is a very important breed feature
  7. I got it off ebay I think, about $35
  8. Mine all play tug with each other, not so much with people. And they certainly do kill and destroy, my backyard is full of dead stuffies
  9. That's Fern, Mum to Warrior and Grandma to the pups
  10. The babies do, through it, on it and under it!
  11. Uncle Warrior with his 10 week old nephews
  12. Wilbur could be like my Warrior, sh!t scared of the pup though Warrior had 4 to contend with at once. Now he plays beautifully with them and is ever so careful to not put a foot wrong and hurt them accidently.
  13. I have always just bought the puppy/s home and took them out to the back yard and then let the adult dog/s outside. Your pup is not going to know Miss 21 or about focusing so I can't see that working. If Wilbur is going to be so excited by having another dog around then I think you need to to have a very good plan, and fences, in place for a long time to keep puppy safe. Recently I bought home 4, 7 week old pups and did exactly the same. Pups out in back yard, adults let out as well.
  14. My pups are 10 weeks old and already tracking birds flying around. Greyhounds are hunters, Sighthounds, movement attracts them. There is the very occasional one that is ok with chooks, I fostered one, kill a cat as soon as look at it but ok with chooks. I'd never trust one.
  15. you need to lead train Lola first before using it to take her to a toilet spot. I just run my pups outside, no lead, speaking in a high pitched voice letting them know this it the best thing ever! Only time I ever used a lead was for the Princess who doesn't do rain. At nearly 9 she still doesn't do rain but we also don't need a lead
  16. Poor baby, she's never been alone. Most certainly do not use corrections on her for this. She needs to learn this. What is she like outside? Can she go outside during the busy period? Where does she sleep at night and is she good then? What happens if you put her in the crate and sit down and read a book. Her messing when you leave is a sign of extreme stress. Same with treats, they won't take them if stressed, they shut down. It's a greyhound thing. Well it's lots of breeds but greys are very good at shutting down.
  17. are you sure he's not sick? Poor little mite.
  18. where did you get your pup from? If she came from a race breeder it is likely she has gone straight from outside with all her siblings to inside with no one. Huge change for her. If she came from a rescue group, (I know one that had pups a week or so older them my current litter) then I would be asking to speak to the foster carer to find out the previous living situation. Greyhounds are a soft breed, no doubt about it, but what methods would you usually use? How much outside time is she getting?
  19. I'd try a dremel and use it every 2nd day. I use this one. I have had generic ones in the past but this I found is best
  20. I currently have one with CAR and one with NPR. Will have a look at AAR. Then I might get them all on the same one!
  21. My litter was chipped in NSW and most need to be transferred to an Australian wide company. Which is the best?
  22. Another factor is, can the Mum deliver naturally? What's her build? Bulldog like or whatever else is used in these dogs?
