There is no such thing as a miniature Pom. You need to do some more research and I suggest you start with Pomeranian breed clubs. Google would help you find them. There is a big difference between Poms and Chi's, one of the biggest is the coat. These little dogs can live well into their teens so will be with you for a long time. Slow down and take your time, it will be worth it in the long run.

I think he is better of where and as he is - the chances that someone nasty will hurt him is remote because he wont let them get close to him unless he knows them and already trusts them and why would anyone want to hurt him more than any other animal? He is living exactly as he is happiest - why poor boy? How would he be happier in rescue ? No one who lives in the area is threatened by him or doesn't like him and I bet they are happy when they hear him bark at anything or anyone out of the ordinary . there is one in the states in similar situation that guards the whole town and they havent seen a Kyote for years. If your concerns are truly about what is best for the dog Id take the way he is living over being trapped and locked up and in unfamiliar company and circumstances. As a shift worker I prefer emails first up. Then I prefer phone calls after 10 am until around 5 or 6 pm. Phone calls after 7 I don't like unless prearranged. So we are all different. :D

In 30 years of owning entire bitches, most of that time in suburbia, I have never had that happen I haven't has bitches in season in suburbia for that length of time :) but I too have never had a problem with stray male dogs trespassing. Might be because I don't walk the bitch leaving a scent trail for randy dogs. I have always managed to keep them occupied and well exercised in the back yard whilst they are in season without having to take the risk.

I've, at times, carried a riding crop and used it. I'll take whatever measures I deem fit to protect my dogs from being attacked.

OP has stated they wish to go down the pets as therapy route, and therefore this is important unfortunately. None of the methods suggested sound stressful to me, I wish someone threw chocolate at me for doing things they like! Haha. I think it has been very stressful as the owners have not managed in 2 years to teach this dog to sit. Pets as Therapy as a goal is all well and good but not if the dog is stressed out.

I don't have a problem with them, add a flap of carpet or similar in winter over the opening and they would be great.

I taught one greyhound to sit, after a fashion, by luring him up when lying down. Why do you want him to sit? My greyhounds stand and lie down beautifully, I am happy for them to do so and not bother to sit ( 2 out of 3 do sit though )

Importing semen is good advice. Once you have bred the imported dog to a couple of your bitches you are limited to where you can go in your breeding program. And unless he is truly an outstanding dog just how many outside services would he get? And of course the risk is he is sterile after you finally get him here. Things can go wrong with FS as well but your options are nearly limitless

With a male you don't need a prefix. You need your own prefix for your own girls. The fact you don't know this says to me you are very new to breeding. I would be very careful if this is the case, that the more experienced person does not load the contract in their favour. Importing is very expensive and you don't want to lose several thousands of dollars and gave no dog to show for it.

all costs of the dog should be 50/50. Both owners get the benefits of wins in the ring. Future breeding plans need to be thought out and agreed to including who chooses the sire and where the dog would whelp if a bitch and who gets 1st pick etc. If a dog, who chooses which bitches are allowed to be bred to him, stud fee, puppies back? I would certainly insure the dog. These are just for starters.
