Just because it had been decided your pup was going on the limited register does not mean all pups had had their register decided on and all pups must be registered at the same time. Also pups have to be microchipped before being registered and most people do that after 6 weeks of age. If you choose to raise the pup different to your breeders recommendations then please be aware you moght void any guarantee's given. For instance if any of my puppy buyers were to give the yearly heartworm injection, which I am very much against, then that's it, all bets are off. But I tell them that and it's written down as well.

Puppies often aren't registered until they around 8 weeks old. So totally normal. Breeders wait until then to decide which register the pups go on - limited or main. I have never paid the transfer fee for any pup. I am in Vic. What I include is what your breeder has done. Registered the pup with my governing body. I do sign and date the registration papers and then it is up to the new owners on whether they want to join their states governing body and transfer the official papers into their name. As far as I know, once you have the signed and dated papers in your hand that is proof of ownership. There is no need to transfer into your bame unless you want to compete in any dog sports or maybe breed. I think your breeder has done everything right and I find it a bit sad you don't feel you can ask them this yourself. Also any council rego is always up to the new owner though I understand NSW us different to Vic

Quite common in both race and show bred greyhounds to use FS on a maiden bitch. I know of numbers ranging from 2 to 13 using FS on maiden show greyhounds. I don't know why you would need to do a back to back, pregnant is pregnant no matter how it happens.

No, I just use raised feeding and drinking bowls. I also raised one end of the bedding in the crate in my room and she mainly sleeps in there nowadays; saves the regurge in the middle of the night all over my bed. I miss her on my bed though. If she was that bad she needed a Bailey chair I would have her PTS. Her symptons are on the lsser end of the scale and we think she has had it for 18 month or so before being diagnosed via xray.

Untreated diabetes will kill your dog sooner rather then later.

If your digs have diabetes then they need to be treated. Agree with Dan. You are being harmful to your dogs.

He very well could have mega esophagus. My girl has it and she can regurgitate water if she drinks too much in one sitting. Sometimes the water or food comes up straight away but with Fern it's more normally several hrs after eating.

I wish I knew why so many breeders seem so hard to get an answer from. I just don't understand it. The polite thing to do is to respond within a timely manner. If you're not going to respond why bother putting the litter out there?

I have no problem at all letting my dogs eat their meals in peace. Dogs aren't children. I would have no problem chucking a kid into their room if they threw a tantrum over anything.

Jeebus $2000 for a deposit, must be gold plated. Doesn't matter what the right thing to do might be as everyone will have a different right thing to do. Most here would return the deposit, maybe witholding something to pay for any extra vaccinations and advertising etc. But if a breeder can ask for and get a $2000 deposit then I would think the pups are selling like hot cakes and would have no trouble getting a new buyer. It does also depend on the contract. I don't do contracts as such but there is documentation via emails that are exchanged where I outline my terms and conditions and the buyer agrees with them. My full sale price doesn't come close to $2000 and if that was just the deposit I would have made sure lots of i's were dotted and t's crossed and I did have a contract covering my butt and my money

It's like asking how long is a piece of string. Way to many variables to give a concise answer. Your unforeseeable change of circumstances may not fit with someone else's definition. Best to have this all agreed to in writing. Personally I don't take deposits. Full payment on pickup day.

The bigger the dog the more it costs as they gave to have a GA to be done. The actual scoring is around $100 for both hips and elbows. You need to find a vet that is familiar with doing it as incorrectly positioned dogs can get worse scores then they actually have or even have to re do them. The xrays are sent away to be scored by one of several vets in the country. Cost me about $400 to get xrays recently in my 32 kilo bitch. Your breed club should be able to help you find an experienced vet.

Don't know why some of you are laying into Scootaloo. They clearly stated they saw a video this morning which has made them feel hostile to some types of dogs. Nowhwere did they say they only believe "those" types of dogs can and do attack. Obviously the video they saw has upset them greatly.

Can you confine her to the area where she can get access to outside i.e the kitchen or laundry. I must admit I wouldn't trust a 6 month old loose in the whole house. I have a 9 1/2 year old Princess who detests getting her feet wet. We argue at the start of every winter with me standing out in the rain until she goes before letting her back into the house. After a couple of reminders she's pretty good for the rest of the year but still sometimes pees on the carpet on the back verandah. Her grand daughter, at nearly 2, shows the same inclination but isn't quite as bad. I'd go back to taking her outside and rewarding when she goes out in the rain

I layer coats and only use polar fleece ones. Have coats From Annie K, dishlickers and The Wolfs Den. I found any over the head types too hard to get on for my older greyhounds.
