I'm so sorry for your loss.
-
One of my Greyhounds that I bred had a brain tumour and the first indication was a change in her temperament. In her case there was plenty of signs and she ended up PTS.
-
but still no information on why
-
Might be time to let him go.

Choose your breeder very carefully.

It's a bit hard saying you didn't like the responses when you then say "if you knew the full story". So your first puppy you didn't even get? It died at 7 weeks from renal failure? And your 2nd one died from a heart murmur? -
I have used Phernergan in the past, for both me and the dogs. Night time only as it's sedating.

yep $15,000 according to the link in the first post.
-
sorry but it sounds suss. And what medical bills? she's in Australia not America
-
that is so, so sad.

The "breeders" of these types of dogs won't be able to be found

URGENT HELP! 2 week old puppies with a head cold
Rebanne replied to BoldNFearless's topic in Breeders Community
Tube feed them. What did the vet say exactly and what treatment are they getting? What breed? At 2 weeks old most breeds would be ok without a feed for 12 hours which is time for meds to kick in. Can give fluids under the skin. Put some bowls of water in the room to keep the air humid. Use a kids humidifier? Have them in the bathroom and run the shower every hour? Surely the vet did more then say they have a cold. -
That's for a 20kg and up dog. Beagles don't ( or shouldn't ) weigh that much. I have heard Canada is cheaper for meds then the USA. I don't use that product so not much help but I have received extra tablets and a flattened box ( for postage costs ) when ordering online.

Welcome back!

this should have all been sorted out before breeding took place. Now it's a case of she said/he said. Sometimes it depends on why an AI was needed. Was the dog not co operative or the bitch or both? Personal choice of one owner? $500 or $5,000 and do you know for sure how many pups are coming? Cause if it's only $500 that means $2,00 to rear 5 pups properly. Extra food for the bitch, food for the pups, microchips and vaccinations. Worming. It all adds up and heavens above if there is a c-section needed or an illness to Mum or pups and vet visits needed.

you could try a slow feeder bowl for her water. I wouldn't worry about being a bit light on, unless she is very thin. You have found a food that suits so I wouldn't change it. Maybe just increase the amount fed slightly.

6 Year old bitten in the face by school support dog
Rebanne replied to Redsonic's topic in In The News
Dog would be at least 6 years old so I wonder about health. But it was a full face bite not just a nip by looking at the marks on the little boys face. So sad for all involved. -
agree with the others, a new vet asap. I am so sorry this has happened to them both and you too as their friend. Please help your friend to report this. Personally I'd get someone to carry the dog to the car and then drive to the work place and see if the dog is ok there. Out via the back door if possible. My experience with trauma was the dogs didn't want to go near where the trauma happened. One was a new foster who had a terrible accident in my back yard. Took weeks before he would go freely in there. Had to be toileted etc out the front yard, then on lead to walk down the opposite side to where the accident happened, then off lead. The other was attacked by a dog while out for a run and we couldn't go near that spot for some months.

I found Antinol really good. They are all pretty expensive. Maybe you could try a course of Cartrophen injections? An orthopedic surgeon did suggest 4Cyte gel and Glyde powder recently. I don't think they have done anything, I'm just using them up.
-
that's a little bit different to anyone grabbing a poodle and crossing it with whatever other breed they can find, making up a "cute" name and selling it for $1000's, all without any health testing of the parents.

I have to say, with all the females dogs I have owned, that I never had a problem except with one girl from GAP ( Greyhound Adoption Program )who caused me to take my smaller crossbreed girl, to the vets 3 times. I couldn't commit to keeping them totally apart for the rest of their lives so the grey was returned with many tears. She was so perfect for me. But not for my dog. The Grey went on to live a lovely life as an only dog. I had a GSD girl who was less then thrilled with other girls too close to her which did improve when desexed but at home never a problem with the others. Just out and about. And never a problem in competitions.

and nothing wrong with a good ole heinz 57, just stop with the stupid names
-
what a shame they no longer have the Racing Greyhounds sweepstakes. They were well supported and hotly contested.
-
Because the hallmark of the breed is their colour. Again you would have to ask a breeder who knows the history of the breed. Nothing wrong with pet only.
