If I can just mention this. As a breeder if you wrote the above re family member not for showing etc that would get my back up. Most breeders dogs are family members. Can't help with prices but don't send that

Complaint about a dog breeder (Advice needed)
Rebanne replied to nathansmith's topic in General Dog Discussion
all I can say is that I'm not that type of breeder and I have some concerns with this 1st come 1st served business. I don't know, did you tell them you only wanted a girl? That might be why they said only 2 girls unfortunately. What breed has lilac as a colour anyway? Make sure the parents have had all relevant health tests and make sure you see the papers for them. Make sure the names match up on your pups litter rego to the names on the health certificates. Good luck. -
maybe kill was a bit strong then.

OP just wants us all to say go ahead and kill the dog. Doesn't have the time or energy to report it but has the time and energy to physically stop it.

try your states breed club for starters

Anyone familiar with KEELAMBARA Aus Sheps?
Rebanne replied to rainfallis's topic in General Dog Discussion
found this on an Aussie breeders website. Make sure the Breeder you buy from: 1. Offers a Health Guarantee 2. DNA tests the Sire and Dam for: * Collie Eye Anomoly *Hereditary Cataracts and *MDR1 3. Eye Tests the Litter at 6-8 weeks of age with a Registered Opthamologist 4. Eye tests the Sire & Dam within 12 months of the pups birth 4. Hip Scores both Sire and Dam 5. Supplies a copyof all Health details 6. Verifies the NBT status on the pups Pedigree Paper -

Yes I have further thoughts. Why have you not been able to see pictures of the parents? Specially the Mum. Even if it was a frozen semen mating there should be a pic of the sire as well. And what health tests do Aussie's need? Have you sighted any paperwork re health tests on the parents? The dog needs to be properly identified on the paperwork. Pedigree name, number and microchip number. -

Why would a vet recommend to get another dog for your dog to have a friend? Are you aware that sometimes a sick dog is attacked by others from it's own pack? Friend of mine had a dog who had a couple of seizures and her other dogs attacked him. For the rest of his life she always kept them seperate if she couldn't directly supervise them. -
Rear dew claws are not common but if they do occur are very loose and should be removed. There are a couple of breeds where rear dew claws are part of the standard, they are not removed.

I'd be guided by the breeder for which pup would be the best fit for your family. For instance if pup would be alone during the day while everyone is at work or school then you want the one most likely to cope with that regardless of sex. If there were then a couple that might suit, one of each sex, then it is very much an individual choice. If you decided on a female and the contract says not to desex until after the bitch has had a season can you keep her safe?

I just use a spot on occasionally, usually Advantage. Capstar is good at killing any flea actually on the dog at the time the tablet is given. I usually treat for fleas 2 or 3 times over the warmer months whether I see them or not.

in my experience it will wear off within 24 hrs.

Yes actually thinking of getting some kid ones. Would be so much easier then newspapers under the vet bed

How much wee do they hold? Can't see anything on the website. Thinking of buying some for my next litter.

My only experience with a dog was my parents older Peke who got prostate cancer and ended up dying after being desexed. The vet at the time told them if the dog wasn't being used at stud then most will suffer from prostate problems. No idea if that is true or not. And he wasn't a dog to enjoy himself with toys either. Personally I desex my dogs if not being used for, or finished, breeding. One other thing to consider is the chance of being stolen because they are entire. I had concerns with the drug taking bogans next door being interested in my male greyhound while he was entire. They liked to go out hunting. Easy to say a bitch is desexed, bit harder to hide testicles on some breeds of dogs

What breed? What were the parents health tests like? What were the scores for the parents and now for your pup both elbow and hips? Any dog can suffer from cruciate problems, it can be enviromental, same for hips/elbows. Sometimes sh!t happens you know. I had two GSD's with HD, one from many generations of very good hip scores, it happens. -
This is a bit of a gray area. As I understand it helping out just in a challenge line up is ok but if you had shown the dog in the class it would be a no. I would question myself why I would want to enter under this judge and just how much of a relationship you have with them. Then I would decide. Might be best to ring DogsNSW and ask them.

I feed my greys dry food without added water. I do raise their bowls but the jury is out on whether it actually helps or not. I don't do enforced exercise within about an hour either side but my lot are inclined to do post tea zoomies so i tyr to be mindful of that. Otherwise I cross my fingers and hope. So far so good. You could try lamb flaps to put on the weight.

I thought the dog broke out of his yard when hearing the commotion and then bit the boy and woman. I thought as the time he was doing what so many other dogs would do, get in on the fun and bite. I doubt he was trying to save the boy at all but was way over stimulated by the screams etc. Of course his owners are going to put a positive spin on it and I don't blame them but I hope they fix up the fences

If you were going to bring in 2 dogs then I would bring in bitches and then import semen down the track. You can't actually bring them back with you. There is quite a process to go through and being able to line up everything so that they are on the same plane would be, I think, near impossible. Then of course there is quarantine. I'd say you would be closer to $15,000 per dog then 9. I'd be busy getting to know the breeders now and once in England meet with them and then look at buying something while being guided by the breeders.

I can only ask. Will do so during the week. I have used stuff from McDowell? before as well

Many years ago I had a couple of young greyhound pups that needed a bit of help to get to their forever homes. Zaya was white with a few black dots and her brother Zorro was black. They were 11 this Feb just gone. Both went to reputable adoption agencies after some rehab with me. I have recently been in touch with Zaya's owner and he asked about Zorro. I lost touch with Zorro's owner years ago but I am pretty sure she was here on DOL. Ring any bells with people? Zaya is going great guns still and loving life.

Interesting about the brakes cause mine has brakes and I didn't ask for them in particular. We did talk about wheels cause I wanted ones that could handle rough ground

I'd be removing the fragment asap
