I've sold litter mates and it all worked out fine. Depends on the breed and the effort put in. I have a fairly bonded pair right now and they are 6 and 3.
-
I suppose you could just wait it out or, what I would do because i couldn't wait, is take her in for an ultrasound

silent season?

Go to the vet you feel comfortable with, the one who matches your ideals closest, the one you trust most.

Running a de sexed male with a female in season
Rebanne replied to Waggy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes they can and they can be injured as well. My desexed male is not allowed to run with my entire girl unless I am watching them. -
This has been all over FB. The owner's daughter claims the photo of the dog with the crack pipe was taken with the dogs previous owner. The dog does not look like a mastiff cross to me
-
Why does the vet say it is genetic?
-
Make sure you sight all health testing from both parents. I didn't know poodles came in red, bright or otherwise
-
sounds like you have a good relationship with your breeder so give them a call and see what they say. There's no reason he couldn't have a bit of yoghurt with his meals. Plus he is maturing, maybe he doesn't need as much food, though 450 grams is not a large amount. Personally I'd ditch the dentastick and give him a raw chicken or turkey piece 3 or 4 times a week for his teeth.

Can't hide anything on a greyhound Little soft belly starting to show

did the vet do a skin scraping?
-
Don't do it. How do you know the pups will be weaned by 3 1/2 weeks? I always let the bitch dictate weaning time. A day away from home will most likely be very stressful. And yes always the possibility of bringing disease home. I can't actually believe you are even thinking of it.

We have puppies! 2 seen on the ultrasound, 4 or 5 felt by palpation. Vet confident more then 2. Will xray closer to due date which is 10 - 12th Sept.
-
make friends with a local butcher and see what you can buy your meat for. Buying from a supermarket is not price friendly for sure
-
If a male has retained both testicles then they look just like a neutered dog. So just because there are none to be seen does not mean the dog doesn't have them. I know for a fact someone bought a "neutered" dog that actually had 2 retained testicles and had to be desexed.

Wasn't Greg that said that Scottsmum it was another neighbour

To go into labour they have to drop to under 2 (pretty sure it's 2) so less then that I would think
-
ask your breeder what they are feeding the pup and go with that. You do not need to boost any complete food. Ask your breeder these things, they are the ones breeding Poms.
-
Actually you can't tell they don't have any problems unless they are hip scored. I have owned 2 GSD's with HD. Both quite bad. Both showed no signs while young. The first one wasn't xrayed until the age of 6, the 2nd one at 18 months. My first was titled in several dog sports. Both were brought from registered breeders, the first was from someone who, in hindsight, was a puppy farmer, the 2nd was one of those sh!t happens from several generations of scored family members. If your pup does end up having poor hips there are many ways to keep her happy without surgery.
-
run away very fast from that vet. Of course the puppy screamed, wouldn't you if someone tried to pull your hips out of their sockets. Keep her quiet for a couple of days and restrict her exercise. If she remains lame take her to a different vet at a different practice. You need to speak to your breeder.

Buying a puppy - follow on from Pollypops post

It's a big problem. Most of the time everything is alright, most people are honest, but it's the ones that aren't that can break you -
Knuckling over can happen very quickly and be reversed nearly as quickly.
-
Oh I missed this. I'd still treat her by only feeding adult dry.
-
at 9 weeks of age this can be turned around in a few days. But I have to ask, how old was the pup when your daughter got her? And did the pup have the knuckling from the start? Stop all puppy food and only feed her adult dry for a week. Supercoat is fine. The great Dane ladies advice is very good but as she is in America a lot of food she recommends is not available here. Scrappi&Monty I rear all my pups on supermarket food and I continue that with my adults. As well as raw. It's about 50/50. My dogs do very well on their diet.
