My only experience with cancer in dogs was my 1st greyhound Sam with osteosarcoma and he was PTS within a few short weeks of diagnosis. If I ever have another with the same they will be PTS within 24 hours. I don't know if this helps you or not.

no it is not usual. I had a bitch miss and the next time around the dog was hurt so we used FS. No extra stud fee of any sort paid, just all the vet costs. I don't know how they can claim a stud fee if no mating took place. A small handling fee for having the bitch at their home is reasonable.

Can't 100% follow your post but I pay a stud fee for the frozen semen, all costs for transporting the semen to my preferred vets and then for the FS to be implanted, plus all prog tests etc. My last breeding the associated costs were higher then the stud fee. Your post reads that you sent the bitch back to the stud dog owner for the surgical implant. Are you sure the stud dog owner is asking for another stud fee or is it for the AI costs? As for litter size, FS is always tested before implant and unless it was found to be problematic then litter size is up to the bitch.

I agree but if your dog only goes out at certain times you would soon know their routine and adjust the flush accordingly. If dog is outside all day would be easy to turn the timer off. I like the idea. My concern would be how wet does the "grass" stay as I've had dogs in the past who hate getting their feet wet.

I'll be staying home and treating the puppies like mad while the big dogs will be in a crate each with big chews. Warrior could care less but Phoebe can be a bit hit and miss.

Yes a slow feeder bowl might help. Also think about feeding her twice a day so she isn't inhaling such a large amount.

I wouldn't be paying for someone else's sh!t happens. I've had enough with my own dogs. As a breeder I would contribute to a problem if I had caused it or contributed to it, failed to test when I should have etc but sh!t happens it just that and it's not my fault. Blame Mother Nature, she is the one who throws the curve balls. As I so rarely breed I couldn't offer a replacement puppy but I may have refunded purchase price even though there is no way known this particular problem was in any way my fault.

This falls into the sh!t happens category. Mother Nature does like to play tricks on us. No way the breeder could have predicted this happening. I've known of only one dog who was a hermaphrodite, she had the op and all was well. I agree with RuralPug, the price seems very high. Get a couple more quotes.

If she has resorbed a previous litter then you would need to do weekly prog tests to make sure her levels don't drop. I always start testing within 2 days of noticing a bitch has come in. Otherwise all I can say is good luck

Half of any spot on I use usually ends up on the coat not the skin but I don't use it that often as I don't have a flea problem here. I must admit I hardly ever use an all in one chew. I prefer to treat as needed and I find tablets are cheaper then chews. So I use valuheart for heartworm - 6 weekly, then advantage spot on 2 or 3 times a year for fleas, and a tablet for worming about 3 times a year. Maybe have a look around and see if you can get tablets cheaper.

puppies are funny little creatures and often do things that no one can explain. It almost sounds like a pain response but that could be just because he was a bit constipated for example. I think he felt off and wasn't sure how to fix it. This morning he feels fine and is acting normal.
