DNA Orivet Massey Main Registration question
Rebanne replied to mornaw's topic in Breeders Community
I wouldn't be happy either -
agree with Snook.

I have heard to let the bitch have a season before doing anything, that inverted vulva's can self correct. In the mean time it's up to the humans to keep the area clean and dry.

Minding a dog for a friend of a friend and may need to keep it
Rebanne replied to Kat2705's topic in General Dog Discussion
2nd Dogsfevr, if you take the girl on, all contact with previous owners stop. -
I think you are pretty good. Though the disclaimer is I have read of dogs killing cats they have lived with for years. My dogs have always had free roam in the house with the cats, both German Shepherds and more recently Greyhounds. The stiffening when a cat suddenly appears could really just be because she was startled, the fact she relaxes quickly suggests to me, the cats interest her but that's about it. At 10 Hannah's hearing and sight could be less then perfect as well, hence the startle/stiffness. Just make sure the cats have a couple of bolt holes to get to.

My vet said the bone biopsy was not reliable. My Greyhound Sam also had it in the shoulder. I opted for pain relief only. After our experience I have vowed that if I have another with osteo then I will PTS once diagnosed. Bone cancer is incredibly painful and I went 12 hours too late. Never again. Better to go too early then a second too late. The dogs don't know what it coming except to react to their owners distress, they don't think oh but I might have a few more good days, they live in the here and now and don't worry about tomorrow's. I am so sorry for you and your dog.
-
sorry Kazm but you haven't seen the bitch so are relying on what you are being told by inexperienced people. Fancy not getting your bitch looked at because your preferred vet is on holidays! Even in your first post you said " Obviously a vet visit might be a good idea " Might be a good idea! So both dogs have had all their health tests and they are registered breeders? Dogs are of good standard? For the bitches sake and any pups I hope all goes well but no I don't think highly of your pet people. Over and out.
-
Tell them to get to the vet today! Sorry but this just makes my blood boil! If there is only one or two pups labour might never start then they will all die! They obviously won't have done any proper care of a bitch in pup either. Or got supplies in. Bloody hell.

might need to look to Europe for one. Try FB/google and see if there are any breed pages

I keep coming back to these words what greater tribute can a dog have

I think $1700 for 4 months boarding is a very good price. As long as they are not cutting corners and can deal with a Mal. Juice I think the OP means in 4 months time they will be in a position to have the dog with them but not currently.

So sorry Sheena.

Time to say goodbye I think.

My crossbreed heinze 57 variety ran on the smell of an oily rag.

Dog treating other dogs like they are her puppies - help!
Rebanne replied to samanthaplease's topic in General Dog Discussion
Most Mumma dogs are happy to see the back of the little sh!ts I would advise not letting her off lead at all if you see dogs that may cause your dog to react in such a way. It is very rude behaviour and she will meet a dog who will not like it and react. She will also meet the dog that will get a big fright and be ruined by your dog. If she had a litter in May then they should have all been together for 6 - 8 weeks. Then it should have been another 2 months before she was desexed. I'm guessing you have not actually had her very long at all, if so, then yes her recall would not be 100% reliable yet. I'd be working on her recall and her general manners and not be waiting for her to flip other dogs over. If it looks like "That" type of dog is about to enter then you need to be proactive and leash her first. And you can't let her do it to some dogs, because they owners are ok with it, but not others. That's only confusing for her -
use a clip to attach the handle to a bar, makes it a lot harder to flip them. FWIW my first greyhound had tapes show up and he had been wormed 3 times! ( with an all wormer that covered tapes) forget what got rid of them but I did have to consult a vet.

get in contact with breeders, not everyone advertises when they have an older dog available. Find one they are comfortable with and build a relationship and take it from there.

Accidentally express bladder?
Rebanne replied to Two Best Dogs!'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I think the answer to your question is yes. You did say rather vigorous. -
I'm giving hemp oil capsules to 2 of my dogs, one for allergy reactions and the other because she dislocated her hip as a pup, she is nearly 2 now. I like them because they are a balance of omega 3, 6 and 9. I am also giving two of mine, the youngest with the iffy hip and the oldest, glucosamine and chondroitin powder in capsules. You buy these over the internet fairly easily. There are also natural pain relief meds you can give. If I recall rightly willow bark is one such item. Goggle would help you. Keep in mind your dog is maturing so what you think might be slowing down because of pain, might just be your dog finally growing up. Though you can see her and we can't. Needless to say keeping her lean will help.

what I have always been led to believe as well. A top notch working bitch called Kelpie. Her pups were often called Kelpie's pups which became Kelpie

Enclosure for feeding dog with food aggression
Rebanne replied to HunterDoggy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Please do -
how old is he? I've had one carsick dog ( as in throw up), and several queasy types. I found all improved as they got older. I also didn't feed before any planned trips. All mine loved the car as well.

I feed supercoat/optimum/natures gift - all supermarket brand foods which I buy when on special. My dogs are fine. I don't go as low as woofbix or chum.
