  1. we can look up the weather ourselves Colleen, we do not need a running commentary
  2. her barking might not be an issue for you but it very well might be for your neighbours
  3. as per the Heat Policy .... everyone should know that they need to check the DogsVic website ... and decisons have to be made 36 hours before the event. it was made, to change the time to 7.30 am, when was it changed to 9 am?
  4. I've not entered but if I had I would have been in bed at least 3 hrs ago to get up for the 7.30am start and not even thought of looking at the VCA site for an update at 1 - 2 am in the morning. Think they need to refine this a little.
  5. what they have changed it again??? surely not how confusing
  6. so you are reading from a CFA link so why even mention the neighbours brother :D
  7. Honestly, this is a computer based board, if we can work out how to work things here then I think most of us can look up the weather forecast if we need to.
  8. a greyhound breeder in Europe also breeds these. They are a working dog.
  9. Huge congratulations! Fantastic
  10. I'm glad Grover is better but just need to clear up that the c crate is not dane size Trish, it's one size down.
  11. I am going to get a bottle and try it out. It was amazing how it relieved this persons torment in seconds. Wish I had known about it when I had shingles!
  12. One of my dogs gets a seasonal reaction to fast growing grass. This year I have managed it best by using an antihistamine and wiping witch hazel over and around and up her paws, pads and legs. I work in an aged care facility and one of the residents was being driven mad by a rash of unknown origin. This rash and itching has been ongoing for about 3 weeks now with all sorts of things being tried. Last night we literally bathed her in Mylanta and it was unbelivable how quickly it worked and when I left was still working 4 hrs later. Which got me thinking about whether Mylanta could be used on dogs safely, seeing as how they might lick it off. I was blown away at how completely the Mylanta worked. If I hadn't have seen it I wouldn't have believed it.
  13. When Fern had her 2 pups she was a bit overwhelmed with them for the 1st 3 days so I put the pups, at night, in their own box, away from her and went to my bed, as soon as the pups made a noise I got up and put the pups on Fern, toileted them, put them back in the box and went back to bed. Mind you my bedroom is off the lounge room where they were so I could hear everything. Though the 1st night I did spend on the couch, right next to the whelping box. Once Fern totally accepted them I still slept, or laid, in the bed as I could hear everything, and was up multiple times overnight. Original plan was for Fern to have the pups in the spare room as it has a bed in there too but I thought that might stress Fern out too much being away from her usual place, the couch Fern's next litter will most likely be in the lounge room again and once the pups are a week or two and depending how many, the whelping area will include a couch for Fern
  14. great news Trish. They could never really say what happened to Piper either and he had a very low temp and was put into a coma to help him through. They thought his brain might turn into mush but it didn't. Well not too much What is it with these big doofus dogs that get under our skin so completely
  15. great news Trish. They could never really say what happened to Piper either and he had a massive temp and was put into a coma to help him through. They thought his brain might turn into mush but it didn't. Well not too much What is it with these big doofus dogs that get under our skin so completely oops didn't read the whole thing before I posted
  16. why are these better then shadecloth? Particularly the 90% stuff.
  17. Trish, when Piper was poisioned (to what - unknown) it took him weeks before he was fully recovered. And about 3 weeks before he even could walk normally. For the 1st 10 days he lent all over us as he walked outside to toilet and back again. Then he just wobbled. But he made a complete and full recovery and has barely had a sick day since ( 7 years ago )
  18. Most are very dog orientated as they are usually kenneled with other dogs. Most do well staying at home while their people are at work. Again, reputable greyhound adoption places, match the dog to the people and lifestyle. Check out the greyhounds in the breed 101 forum
  19. Snap, was about to say the very same thing. me too but they can carry old injuries and get arthritis which can happen to any breed of dog. If you really want a pup there are a couple of listings for greyhound pups at the moment but those GAP greys are pretty special
  20. My repo vet said 61 days and when Fern didn't go by day 61 and I rang them they said not over day 63 from implant. Fern had a c-section on day 63.
  21. Fingers crossed all goes well Trish. Hugs to Grover
  22. a profit is a profit big or small, no need to distinguish between them
