  1. https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&ei=qM9nX8S5KYzXz7sP6IK3-AQ&q=is+pulmonary+stenosis+hereditary+dogs&oq=is+pulmonary+stenosis+hereditary+dogs&gs_lcp=CgZwc3ktYWIQAzoECAAQRzoGCAAQFhAeOggIIRAWEB0QHlCzWVjnaGDzbWgAcAJ4AIAB3gGIAacHkgEFMC4zLjKYAQCgAQGqAQdnd3Mtd2l6yAEIwAEB&sclient=psy-ab&ved=0ahUKEwjErf7C3PjrAhWM63MBHWjBDU8Q4dUDCAw&uact=5 I'd be asking my vet about it.
  2. In summer I often wore 3/4 length pants and a nice blouse. Never a jacket. I'm awful in the heat.
  3. It can be very hard to pick up pups on an ultrasound. If your dog is pregnant she may be only having one or two. But she is a large breed and was difficult to scan. You could rescan her in a weeks time or get a blood test done to see what her hormones levels are at or wait until the xray. And I would xray just so you know what you are actually dealing with. One pup often doesn't trigger labour. My first litter was only 2 pups. Greyhound. Now there is nowhere to hide anything on a Greyhound and I took weekly photos and yes you can see a slight change in shape and weight as time went by but being obvious? Didn't happen until at least 7 weeks and even then most people would have thought she was just getting a bit fat. Not every mating produces pups. Cross your fingers, hope like hell and xray at the correct time.
  4. I can't help with the actual disease but one of my dogs was on massive doses of steroids last year. 60mg per day to start with. Opal was around 30 kilos at the time. It took around 2 months to get the dose down to nil. We did also use Nexium? to help protect her gut from such high doses but she reacted badly to it so it was just the cortisone, which Opal was weaned off slowly. No other drugs etc were used. Not sure what you mean by modifications.
  5. This is my very first time in the ring and Fern was exactly 3 months of age. She liked that judge a lot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YofMrDsx9s
  6. start him on a table while he is small enough. All my Greyhound pups have started on a table. There are some great resources on YouTube, just google and watch a few and get a feel of what makes sense to you. I have some videos with my youngsters, look up Doggone2007. No instructions but you can see how short the video's are and how wiggly the pups can be. I'm not an expert by any means, in fact I taught my first show dog to A frame beautifully ( legs too stretched ) even though I had taught 2 dogs to a high level of obedience which included free stands. I just built it up to some big deal in my head and it isn't! Once shows are back go along and have a look. You will see plenty of mature dogs still mucking around. One of my pups from my last litter ( 3 years old tomorrow ) wanted to show the dog but won't do it until he is perfect (insert eyeroll ) I don't care if the dog is shown or not but if you wait until perfect you will be waiting a long time.
  7. is that just colour on his left ear ( as he looks at you, in the photo ) it looks like a bandage lol
  8. Will you DNA test the pups to make sure it was your boy?
  9. How awful for you, the puppy and the transport people. I'd be waiting for the autopsy results before saying it was caused by transport. How old was the puppy cause that's a long way to travel by road.
  10. as well as all the above why not just go and knock on your neighbour's door and have a chat? Explain your concerns about the temporary fencing and your dogs special needs. Temporary doesn't have to equal flimsy.
  11. OMG already! That went quick, maybe not for you though LOL Just keeps things as calm as possible and only give a couple of small feeds today.
  12. I believe it's to keep the weight off the rib cage, breast bone so it recovers it's normal shape.
  13. I've never had one but it shows up very early. Excellent information posted above or there is plenty of info if you goggle.
  14. I don't believe the breeder can flag the chip unless she takes the previous owner to court over non compliance with the contract that was in place. Did the old owner give you the microchip form or are you using a new one? Cause if it was the old one it would have been what they got from the breeder and it should have been signed by her How long ago did you contact the breeder?
  15. The dogs papers mean nothing unless they are transferred into your name. I'd be getting in touch with the breeder again as they can be a real source of information for you and if you like this boy so much you may want another down the track and the breeder may be able to help. Most people here would advise to hold off desexing until the dog is fully mature. As you have had him some months past 11 months, even if he was a large breed, he should be ready to go if you want. And the breeder more likely to sign the microchip papers. Plus the breeder has had time to digest all that has happened to one of her dogs and realised any anger, annoyance etc should be directed at the previous owner, and should work with you for the best outcome for the dog.
  16. I think a vet check is in order. She's been unwell (fever) and is now refusing food.
  17. I hope there are no plans to breed from him. No papers and no health testing which could be a life or death matter depending on the breed
  18. I don't blame the breeder, I'd be furious but I would want to check you out a bit before signing anything. But in the end I would most likely sign the transfer form. It used to be that a letter would be sent to the owner listed by the microchip company and they had 14 days to reply. If no reply the microchip would be transferred. So send the form in and see what happens.
  19. This is what it seems to come down to and I for one would not be happy with this. Scratch has made very good, valid points.
