how ridiculous there is nothing in the original post or since to say these people even approached a purebred, regisitered breeder.

When I was a little kid I had a cat called Puss. When I smacked the tin and called Puss Puss Puss for her dinner, every bloody cat in the neighbourhood turned up :D I could never quite think of a suitable name. Puddy was supposed to be makeshift but it never went.

I had a cat called Puddy once. Every animal since had had a "human" name. Brandy, Tara, Abbey, Zoe, Emma, Sam, Piper, Tatum, Molly, Fern, Miller, Magic who was called Madge more often than not, Tilley, Sophie, Sybil, Then there are Paige and Sita who don't live with me.

It is illegal in Victoria to remove them from their area. Anyway if one possum thinks your place is a bit of alright you can bet another will move in quick smart.

I feed supercoat to my 4 dogs and they do really well on it. They get the occassional egg with it and the odd marrow bone.

There is not a lot of difference in temperament that I have seen. Both have timid, shy, aloof, loving, bold etc. Both can have a very high prey drive or very little. The greyhounds that get into pet homes while younger are usually more "dog like" for lack of a better term. Race bred can be shown, show bred can not be raced. Rarely are the two types crossed because the racing industry won't accept them and neither would most showies. Physically, on a whole, show bred are bigger - taller and longer, though there are plenty of race bred males that are at least as big as my boys and plenty are bigger. Race dogs don't worry about the set of ears for example, they worry about speed. Show bred would not win a race, but so don't many of the race bred! Racing after a lure on an oval track has only been around for about 90 - 100 years, controlled coursing a couple of hundred years before that. Hunting game for thousands of years before that. Race bred have got smaller and faster for the track, show bred have got larger and possibly a bit slower. But as they were never timed, hard to tell. They are coursed competively overseas. They can still catch bunnies. Race bred are in their thousands. Show bred are not. At the last Melbourne Royal there were people from NSW and SA as well as VIC and between us all we could only come up with around 70 - 80 showbred greys in the country. We rounded it up to 100 just to make sure we had them all covered. In NZ there are 6! 4 of them not yet 4 months old. There may possibly be 2 more but they would be very old so not likely to be around. Greyhounds are S curves top and bottom, the show bred more so.

I got my rotary tool from Bunnings. It's cordless and has 5 different speeds. Brand is GMC and it's 9.6 volts there is a number on it: DEC004DC as I said I have had mine for around 3 years so may not have the same one's in stock still

how stupid! if you don't advertise where most people look how are these people ever going to find out about good breeders and good dogs It's up to the breeder to then vet any potential owner no matter where they come from.

Have you found your dremel "wannabe" ok? or would you go with dremel next time? There is a big price jump!!! my wannabe is great, very happy with it. It was around $60, much cheaper then the equivalent dremel.

I use a cordless rotary tool (dremel wanabee) I bought from Brunnings. Had it at about 3 years and do 3 dogs with it. I go through sanding bands a lot quicker then Erny! I use 1/2 inch bands both rough and fine. I tried the smaller bands but they didn't do as good a job. Others swear by them.

and I never did use any of them :D

How did things go today?

I got mine off the USA ebay site, they were cheaper than anything here. Now I know about the garden supply places I would just buy from there.

how many breeds are entered on average? How many have a dog and a bitch entered? I don't mind having cards left over but I don't want to run short!

The cane. It holds 12 straws or 3 to 6 vials depending on the size of the vial. Google tells me vial = pellet. Each pellet is one breeding unit. Stud cattle sites very helpful, gave me key words to refine my search

Got my answer, can't complain about the company, Sat arvo and they are still happy to help me

I have emailed the company and asked this question but curiosity means I don't want to wait When you get a quote to import FS is it for each individual straw or is it for a cane? And a cane holds 6 to 8 straws?
