  1. Owners have only got themselves to blame. The dog has got out at least 3 times and he has attacked 3 dogs, killing one. PTS is the right answer
  2. for sure it needs reporting, breaking multiple laws as Jem said
  3. I'm sorry for your loss but you don't know that your dog would have survived without surgery. Personally I think you did the right thing and gave her a good chance
  4. did you take the pup to the vet for her post sale check up? Had a vet seen her at all before she died? You would have to prove the pup swallowed the bead at the breeders house I would think to get any money back but I must say, as a breeder, I would be devastated and yes would have refunded something, as long as you had taken the pup to the vet sometime before she died.
  5. some dogs, like people, are more stoic then others. Might need to up his pain relief. Chat with the vets again.
  6. I laughed at the might be a weird cat guy. And I love cats.
  7. I'll be blunt. The time has come. I agree with your daughter. As a nurse we can't help our patients pass with dignity but we can help our beloved pets. I'm so sorry you are facing this. God speed to you and your beloved friend
  8. she is a baby and is not deliberately peeing on the mattress. I suggest you read about toilet training and take it from there. Where did you get her from?
  9. actually puppy contracts are quite common in Australia and many breeders arrange the 6 week free insurance. I'd be p!ssed with the breeder as well for not letting me know of what is potentially a serious fault but I suspect that as you still took the pup after being told about the fault you don't have much legal leeway. However I'd be contacting the DogsQLD office to see how you can go about making a complaint about the breeder. It might not help you recover any costs but it may help the next puppy buyer. Good luck with your little girl.
  10. please take all the pups to the vets. I hope all those meds have been approved by a vet.
  11. "The dad is from a registered breeder" does not mean the current owner of the dog is registered just that the dad would have some sort of papers, either main or limited if the breeder was ANKC. Could be registered with the local council for all anyone knows.
  12. I've sent pups much further then NZ and they arrived fine.
  13. Bloody puppies that have to chew everything! Glad it seems to have turned out ok. A few more grey hairs for you though
  14. I've never had much luck with Periactin. But you can get it over the counter at chemists ( at least you could last time I got some )
  15. oh so true. I'm sorry but what quality of life is the dog having. 15 is a grand age. Might be time to let go.
  16. There are 3 pups registered with the prefix and birthdate given to me by Blueberry. I'd be putting a complaint into DogsNSW. Been plenty of time to get the papers.
  17. I've sent you a message Blueberry. No idea why you couldn't send me one
  18. Do you know the prefix? Exact date of birth? If you do I can look up the ANKC data base and see if there has been a litter registered with those details. Private message me and I'll see what I can find out.
  19. You need to build a relationship with a breeder. I would think most would be wary of someone just wanting a bitch to breed from without getting to know them. Good on you for being up front but find a breeder whose dogs you like and take it from there.
  20. Yes I wondered if that was still the case. I recall years ago the uproar when it was realised that any dog trained in the protective part of Schutzhund was to be automatically declared a dangerous dog (in Vic). I was hopeful it might have changed but is seems not.
  21. well done to you both and thumbs up to your fellow exhibitors. Pity about the judge and steward.
  22. yeast infections do smell, malaseb you can use on her belly. My vet told me to use a good oatmeal conditioner after each wash as malaseb is very drying.
