I've never a broken tray (yet!) but I would just put a couple of extra blankets in the crate and sit it on a tarp at a show. ETA all my crates have been off ebay

Bit rude don't you think. Never had that moment when what you are talking about is perfectly clear to you but not others? No?, then you must be perfect. And putting a few emoticons at the end does not make it any less rude. eta spelling

be prepared to find you have been switched from your benched area. I've been to the last 5 Royals and we have been moved at least 3 times! Possibly because there are never that many greyhounds entered but this year we have close to 20 so should stay put.

"Mr Rowbottom said he shot both the large dogs, which each weighed more than 40 kilograms, while they were attacking his sheep. "I've reported the matter to police and we'll make an insurance claim. At the time of the attack, the dogs' owner had notified the ranger and was out looking for his dogs," he said. "He was doing everything he could to find his dogs. I didn't like shooting the dogs but if they had got away they would probably have gone home and attacked someone else's sheep at another time."

Yes!!!! You shouldn't feed your dog 2hrs before and after exercise. If possible elevate their food bowl and if feeding dry food do not allow them to drink large amounts of water immediately after eating. Thank you Yes his food bowl is elevated and i always wait till he is properly cooled off before his has his dinner. Even if he does crack a case of the poopies cause he has to wait lol The jury is out on whether you should elevate their food bowls, in the greyhound community it is 50/50 up or down

Getting A Dog And Stuck On Breeds, Advice Appreciated

are you warm inside? If so then a short hair dog will be fine. If you need to wear a coat then so would a short haired dog. -

A greyhound won't break a leg by jumping off a bed. Mine are up and down 1/2 dozen times a day. http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/171675-greyhound/ for starters -

For God's sake some dogs hate cats, some greyhounds hate cats and you know what, some are fine with cats This is my recently deceased boy Piper who never met a cat until he was 18 months old -

I was going to suggest this - but wouldn't rescue greys have issues with cats? not from an ethical rescue group who fosters their dogs before adopting them out -
Yes at a recent show we heard someone question the committee as to the random assortment of judges they had picked and they quite blatantly told them that they picked them as they knew they would put their dogs up - and what do you know, all their dogs were picking up groups and classes in groups etc. I wish someone would point me in the direction of these judges, I'd like some fringies

Just last week I was talking to an older couple who had 2 young dogs, both around 9 months of age. First one was a spaniel x poodle, they liked the "breeder" they got him from so much they got a "pure" Cocker. I was very gentle and asked about papers and health testing. Well they had a lot of paperwork at home but nothing seemed to match the papers I described to them. They are already having health problems with them. I suggested they hop on the internet and look up the breed clubs and find out what dieseases their lovely dogs might be hiding from them. They proudly stated there was a 12 month health guarantee on the dogs, I pointed out that wasn't much help if the dogs went blind at 5 or 6. I said go back to the vet and get some DNA tests done after they had done some research. Problem was these people thought they had researched. They had never owned a dog before and just wanted a couple of nice, healthy companions. They got suckered in by a very professional looking web site. Luckily money won't be a problem for these dogs.

Good lord, I just emailed everyone and the first ones back with a reasonable fee etc were the ones I booked. There are only 3 of us that show at our club and we wouldn't know a facey judge if we fell over them. I'm sure I could have asked around but I reckon if I had asked 3 much more experienced people then me I would have got 3 different answers.
