  1. what sort of clips Liath? I want to make one to take to shows as well but I need to overlap a couple of panels for each side which makes it hard to make a roof. Anyone put shadecloth or similar on as a roof? I was thinking of also putting a floor in out of shadecloth so making it harder for a dog leaning on the panels to move it out of shape, but not sure how to join it seeing as one panel will be the gate.
  2. so prolife that the dog is allowed to run loose while in season. It is only be good luck that the dog is alive and well. I asked before and I'll ask again. If she has to be tied outside on a chain because of the small amount of mess made whilst in season just where is this poor bitch going to whelp and raise her puppies? Religion is not an excuse to neglect your duty of care.
  3. so sorry to read this. RIP Grotty Rotty, thanks to your Mum for sharing a little bit of you with all of us
  4. most likely not but he has a point, why should breeders be the only ones required to health test and be at risk of being prosecuted if they sell a pup that ends up with a health problem?
  5. So you not only allow your dog to piss on people you allow him to bother people who are scared of dogs. Great, really responsible dog ownership that us.
  6. wow 5 already, where did that go? :birthday:
  7. Then why bother asking for opinions in the first place? your dog is obnoxious and so are you allowing him to behave in such a way as to pee on other people, lean on them, chase them around begging for food etc. I think you like being the only one the dog will listen to and are proud of that fact. If your partner is living with you and the dog, the dog should be obeying him just about as much as you. Load of codswallop to say he's a one person dog, you are using that as an excuse to keep the power of controlling a barely under controlled dog. The dog sounds incredibily stressed to the max and a time bomb just waiting to go off.
  8. you should have come over and said hello, we could have talked hounds and compared notes on our beautiful babies!
  9. I wormed my greyhound bitch just before I judged she was due to come into season, then wormed her again with the puppies first time. I did give her calcium between each pup but still needed a c-section after pup 3. As she was due for her heartworm meds 2 weeks before she was due I just waited till the day after she whelped, plus it was the middle of winter so was pretty confident there were no mozzie's around. with her first litter is was mid summer so she got her heartworm meds then but I only use a product that does just heartworm, nothing else.
  10. block off under the room as well as the pets may be peeing there and the smell wafting up. At 6 months your pup should be able to hold on over night, maybe take a look at your toilet training plan and see if you need to do more.
  11. yep I've had a fence go down because of a tree falling on it. Luckily I was home at the time.
  12. I've seen kids and grown people step out onto the road to avoid a nasty little chihuahua type crossbred, so why not step out to avoid a larger dog?
  13. sorry about your car bohunt, that's pretty bad
  14. if you want to learn about greyhounds then check out here and here. Greyhounds are (usually) calm and quiet and the ones at the Royal were not handpicked for that reason. It is a good thing they can chill out in very stressful situations. Those greyhounds on show live a greyt live which includes lot's of paddling and swimming in dams. Don't really know what went on when the GAP person visited but it does seem a lot was left unsaid.

    Puppy Limping

if it is OCD, the earlier it is operated on the better the success rate. But you need xrays to diagnose it properly. If this was my dog I would get xrays first. If nothing structural showed up I would then go a chiro. I would feed a low protein food as well, an adult one.
  16. well that is not the fault of the breed, just that particular dog (and person).
  17. no doubt about it faytiges, it will be swings and roundabouts I'm sure with the boys. If I had the room both would be staying.
  18. yes I would think fostering greyhounds is not for you.
  19. Brantarby Winter Festival won the baby bitch class. She's off to Tassie in a couple of weeks!
