Would You Take Your Pup To The Vet On A Leash?!
Rebanne replied to Cavamum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Yes, that's usually the case. But shouldn't you also be pointing out that pups are not fully covered until about week 14, after their third vaccination, but are being admitted to puppy school as young as eight weeks. and not all pups have 3 vaccinations either, mine only ever get two -

I leave my dogs at home with a friend checking in twice a day. You must do what you are comfortable with. -
Would You Take Your Pup To The Vet On A Leash?!

you do know that there are hand cleaners inside each room don't you? So easy to clean your hands inside one room before exiting into the corridor then going into the next room, where you can again clean your hands. -
The biggest problem for Benalla imo, and not much the club can do to change it, is there is a pub across the road from the grounds. Have a few drinks, be looking for a bit of "fun" and wander across the road But really things get stolen from shows all the time and it isn't always the general public doing the stealing. When I leave my stuff behind I do so knowing it might not be there the next day and if it isn't, then it's my fault not the clubs.

My greyhound bitch is now 5 and is just starting to wee when away from home, longest time she held on was 16 hrs, it's nothing for her to hold on for 12 hrs regularly when being shown. First showed up at 3 months of age. Her son, who is currently 7 months old is exactly the same. Bitch knows what "do wees" means, in fact she will squat but do nothing in an effort to please me. I just accept it as being part of her and so far no UTI's. I hope her son's habit will change as he matures and his hormones kick in!

I didn't see any other being quite so strong in their wording as you were. People didn't like what was posted but they didn't call the writers names, not like you, that I saw. If they did my words also apply to them. I find it amusing how some people complain about rudeness etc from other posters but are every bit as bad as the people they are complaining about. The original post was every bit the person looking to byb. It took a few pages before she came back to clarify it. As you say, lots of people read posts here. If everyone went back to edit their posts when the original one went unedited it would give the impression people were supporting the OP.

wow very judgemental comments. You are doing the very thing you are saying for others not to do. I am saying how judgemental many of the young posters were to the OP when she simply asked a question. I believe what was said is disgusting and a complete turn off to ppl who visit this site and see the judgemental attitude these ppl have to newbies or uneducated ppl who simply want info. Their manner is disgusting, not many ppl were nice, politeness can go along way, i was never unpolite or accusing to the op, only the ppl who jumped down her throat ahem ;) weren't you taught two wrongs don't make a right? You are calling people self righteous know it alls, you are accusing a certain age group, your comments can also being read by visitors to the forum, but it's ok for you to name call etc cause you are not applying it to the OP.

they were collecting on Friday as well. The security guard wasn't going to be onsite all night just doing rounds as far as I know. If people want onsite security then they can expect entry fees to skyrocket. There is only one ground that I show atthat is fully fenced with 8 foot high fences and gates locked. Everywhere else is open to the public.

Vaccine Reaction In A Pup. Help Please.
Rebanne replied to bianca.a's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
there is no need to do kennel cough unless you are going to be boarding the dog. -
they mean if your dog comes down with parvo and you hadn't vaccinated for it they won't cover the bills. Therefore if you dog is up to date , in their eyes, with vaccinations and was to come down with parvo they would cover the costs. At least that's how i read it.

Because BYBs are known for producing sound, health-tested dogs, right? If you actually feel this site is a waste of time.. why exactly are you here? The only thing I can think of is to troll. Also.. for someone so bothered by "do gooder dog rescuers", you sure do spend a lot of time in the rescue section ;) glad you caught the full post!

Personally I only show a breed that I am happy to own as a pet, my dogs live in my house with me and the cats, I couldn't get a dog just to show, they must have the temperament etc that I want. ie I would never get a coated dog to show no matter how successful they might be in the ring cause I am not interested in maintaining a show coat. I am happy to just admire them.
-
so you still haven't produced any proof of this "breed" nor of it's "breeders", you are just trolling

Brantarby Winter Crusade, Eric, got BOB for the greyhounds and a Whippet got minor in group :D Eric is Sarah's first show dog and she was over the moon with Eric's win as was I.

no they are not, I have only had one dog out loose once in over 30 years, the neighbour let her out, long story, but that's the only time one of mine have been out.

I don't consider a cattle dog deep chested but others might. Personally having owned GSD's and now Greyhounds, both breeds that could bloat, for over 30 years, I never really think about it. There have been so many theories over those years that you would go mad trying to sort it all out. All you need is a bit of common sense and don't feed your dogs close to serious exercise. It's the only thing I agree could be harmful. My dogs often run around like loons right after feeding, I rarely interfere as it is not forced exercise, if it gets too intense or lasts too long I will intervene. My dogs have been fed raw, fed dry, fed soaked dry, fed mixed raw and dry, fed on the ground, fed from a raised feeder etc. None have bloated yet.

you do know there are several health tests you need to do before breeding from your boy, you do know if you refuse to do such health tests and he sires a pup that is affected then you are liable and can be sued. You must know these things because you are awesome.

At least you acknowledge the person who was bitten is the victim, though like the others, I'm not sure why you blame the victim for being bitten. It makes me wonder if you also blame victims of crimes for being victims. it makes me wonder if mace owns a dog who bites and blames it on other people who accidently stay within it's trigger zone.

Separation Issues - New Pups . Some Discussion...
Rebanne replied to persephone's topic in Puppy Chat
don't be so quick to blame yourself for your dogs issues. Puppies are not born perfect any more then people. Even the best bred, best reared pups/dogs can have issues and sometimes it doesn't matter what you do the pup/dog is still what it is. A living breathing creature with imperfections. -
Are you for real! I'm sorry that my friend didn't have the capacity in a split instance to calcualte the angle and extension of a dogs lead, taking into consideration the length of the owners arm and elasticity of the lead. That's what I do and have had my fair share of dogs lunge at me over the years in that type of situation. The point I am making is that you can't trust people will handle their dogs accordingly and take the initiative myself. It's too late to argue who is right or wrong if perhaps you had a child with you and half his/her face missing? wow, where on earth do you walk that you have been lunged at multiple times while just trying to walk past on lead dogs without a dog yourself. Certainly sounds like a dangerous neighbourhood and one to be avoided at all costs. Nice one, put all the blame on the victim, who did try and avoid the dogs

what she should have stepped out into the road maybe and got hit by a car instead  Not her fault at all but most certainly the fault of the dog and it's owners
